  1. or do SS Gunslingers WRECK FACE with 1.2? Anyone care to break down 1.2 improvements by comparison with pre 1.2?.... just a couple things I've noticed off the bat:

    -Extreme improvement with UI responsiveness

-Where are all of these charged bursts coming from??? Holy $@!^

I've been dedicated SS spec since launch, still not 1337 by any mean, haha.

    I'm running 31/7/3 as follows: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#700bcrddMskGRZbcbZh.1

I'm Valor 60, and I'm still learning about my spec!

  2. I and a few other operatives from my guild have been noticing this alot lately. There have also been some posts on the forum suggesting others have experienced this. Lately, in PvP, there have been times where a ranged class has knocked me out of stealth from a full 30 meters away. This was simply not happening pre 1.1.3. I have also noticed that I can find other stealthed operatives much much easier, however the same is not true for assassins as they still have to be relatively close for me to see them.

Am I just crazy or has anyone else noticed this?

With Sweeping Gunfire, I can spank you out of stealth from 30m away. I have to spam it randomly, and just hope you're in the aoe.

  3. 1. First of all...are you a troll? Healing? Gunslingers don't have a healer role, that's the Scoundrel Class.

    2. Crying about a certain class just due to your lack of skill not going to help, if you want to be able to be good at as a certain class,

There are videos and guides out there how to improve yourself, seems your mostly after a "I WIN CLASS".

Game would be boring if this was the case, every class has there "weakness" or there Arch-type Class that will have the advantage over you.

    3. Paragraphs/Spaces are there for a reason, not meany people like to read a wall of text.

Ok, I better stop feeding a trolls, they seem to multiply like rabbits.....

This child tried way too hard.

Be gone, troll, and sell my gray items! *Hand wave*

  4. Is a SWTOR failure ?

Yes, it is. Few reasons why. First of all this bull... that they spent 300 mil ? are you kidding me? Do you believe that. I am pretty sure it was a marketing trick... :)

BW has no experience what so ever in MMO development. They are capable of developing Tetris. I am already level 50 and there is nothing to do. Flashpoints are big joke. 2 operations filled up with dozens of bugs ... Story line is a proper crap, designed by technical ppl or retarded writers (I was talking with force sensitive stone lol, what bull... is this ?)

I have never ever seen game with this amount of bugs, PVP sucks (reb trooper can heal, hit hard, heavy armored, 100000000 of health, 20" dic...., massive car and 10 hot chicks around. Classes are not balanced at all). Someone (developer) I guess has some complexes and want to get back on ppl in game lol.

Besides that if you are not ranged forget about Illum = battlefield. Warzones sucks too, at least 5 times a day wins does not count for daily, which is fu... annoying, especially when you stuck for 3h on 2/3 of daily because of it.

Customer service the worst ever !!!!!!!!!!!!! They do not respond to your requests, they just copy/paste some senseless crap not related to your question etc.

Story sucks too, I was skipping these dialogs after I reached lev 20 (same like text ones in different games).

Crafting system has been designed by mentally disabled person I guess, even monkey can craft in SWTOR, just another mini game crap (just click, click click).

Many ppl already left game and they still do leave.

LOL I was crying when I saw an email from BW, saying that if you continue with subs you will receive founder title lol (who came up with this idea ----> for sure mental IQ 40).

I LOVE STAR WARS and I never thought that anyone can fuc... up this title, unfortunately BW is about to do it. I seriously miss SWG, that was awesome game which required some thinking etc. SWTOR is another game designed for idiots.

Six yoars of development and another WOW with lightsabers ? BW wake up and take some example from SWG not WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lets wrap it up. This game make me and 1000 of ppl angry instead of relaxed, because of BW ignorance, bugs and customer service quality. Game provides no content, reward system sucks so badly, its just lottery .......... All players look exactly the same, you cannot even change colors of your armor (SWG provided appearance which was fully customized). Companions should be more individual too. Everyone in the game has exactly same looking companions, which are useless after you reach lev 50 because if you want to do anything you have to play in the group.

Your ship thing?, I don't see any use of it. You cannot decorate it with trophies (because there is none lol), no one can visit you there too lol.

Space combat is a single player joke :D good job btw for these two individuals for design :)

Lol and this guy in last video about march update, " we do what our players want from us" I wish to punch this guy in the face !!! bulll........

BW thinks in corporate way, they dont give a shi.... about what we wont. They wont just more money for nothing, some crappy flashpoints every few months, which can be developed within days.

Because of their ignorance to our "calls" I am getting so freaking angry that I will soon del this crap and go back to SWG emu. I am not alone here, trust me. Most of the ppl are just waiting for GW2 - for me another crap ............ with **** elfs etc

Where is the part that says you unsubbed? I hope that's coming in your next edit.

  5. Did you turn on all the detailed item info options in prefrences so you can see the mod values at mouse over?

Its turned on, and it is quite useful.

I'd like to see a tool with an upgrade library that allows you to select your spec, categorizes all known upgrades that are appropriate for your spec and level, and allows you to target what you should look for in game according to how you want to shape your character.

Just an idea for the hat.

  6. So I'm at a point with my character where I can't swap upgrades in my equipment without writing it all down. My memory does not serve me well.

I have target stats for my character, and I like to abide by them. I usually end up removing equipment to be upgraded, writing down all upgrade stats, compare them side by side with inventory upgrades/new equipment from whatever missions, and finally decide what upgrades to strip, what to add, and what to sell.

I'm not sure how all of you do it, but it seems to me there could be a much better method. I could make a spreadsheet of all equipment, types of upgrades, all stats associated, etc, and update it regularly.

    OR

I could ask you folks what methods you use, and if is an online tool available, much like the Skill Tree tools a lot of people use, myself included.

    Enlighten me.

  7. What you're saying is that Player 1 (who pays just as much subscription fee) has more right at a CHANCE for gear than Player 2.

    You're wrong.

Everybody has the ability to have an equal chance at the gear, per the system in place. Every player has the ability to DECIDE, for THEMSELVES, whether or not they need the item.

Of course it would be great to win a roll on an item that is a significant and/or immedeate upgrade to your character. And of course it sucks to lose a roll on an item. But what many are trying to establish in this thread is that some players have NO RIGHT to choose to roll on an item.

Everybody has a fair chance to win a roll. Personal preference, desire, code of ethics/morals/honor, or whatever other factor does not change the fact that if two people desire a piece of gear, they have an EQUAL chance to DECIDE to roll, and an EQUAL chance to WIN the roll.

Again, just because I have the ability to press the "need" button doesn't automatically mean I will 100% of the time press need. BUT, I reserve the right to DECIDE, on my own, as a grown up, what items I want to have a chance to win. When you tell me I am not allowed to decide, then that is where I tell you to F off.

The opperative words in this post were:

    Decide

    Chance

    Equal

    Fair

Anybody telling anyone they are not allowed to roll on an item, for any reason, changes the balance and makes the system less fair. You (general you) are not entitled to any item in this game. Neither am I (general I).

Good points, here. Equal opportunity, and everyone has an equal chance. Everyone pays 15 bucks a month. I agree, I don't think player A should tell player B that he ABSOLUTELY can NOT have something.

Now, what do you think most (you define "most") SWTOR players general opinions are if the following happens?

-Not considering majority group opinion about establishing loot rules pre FP or AREA?

-Rolling need on an item that doesn't fit their class i.e. medium armor proficiency rolling on heavy armor items

    -Winning the item

  8. Not sure if this has been mentioned, yet.

There should be a second roll option, bound to the option of having a Loot Master, such that a 4 man guild or random group composition can divide up loot at a later time. If it was a random group, and the loot master ended up refusing to divide loot, the pieces would go to their respective class automatically, the rest would be random division. This would have to change the bind characteristics of some loot.

At the very least, if someone accidentally rolls need or just doesn't pay attention, there should be an option to trade in x amount of time, or keep all items unbound IN THE FP or AREA.

As for ninjas, well, respectfully put them up in genchat, their offence, and add to the ignore list if your hate runs deep.

  9. So I set up the ram drive yesterday afternoon, and it was a success. Zero issues in creating the file links. I also checked this against task managers physical memory usage statistics, and it is definitely there and using resources like it should.

Now, I did notice loading improvements, but there were still hitching issues. i.e. looking around a room, as other players are entering it, I get a 15 or 20ms pause. Bioware did emergency service on their servers this morning, no patch attached to accompany the server maintenance. FEB 2nd AM Server Maintenance

I will be logging on for the first time since yesterday, so hopefully the maintenance made some improvement on the hitching issues. I will pst again shortly.

Also, what happens to the ram drive during an update to the TOR client? Since the ram drive stores the TOR cache file, (and associated settings folder) I would assume nothing?

  10. I'm not doing all this to fix something that is wrong with the game, not my computer.

Hey, buddy. Here's my two cents for your two cents.

OH NO! You're THAT GUY? !

I've been reading some various information about ramdrives, and I think I might just do this. I'm getting a pretty decent 50fps average, 25fps tops in warzones. HITCHING IS A BISH! Very noticeable on my system.

Athlon X2 5400+ OC'd to 3.2 ghz (floats around 60- 80 percent usage total between two swtor processes)

2gig x 2 Corsair XMS 2 pc26400 No issues what so ever, each pair on separate channel.

    1gig x2 Kingston pc26400

    2TB Barracuda (there's the killer)

2x 9800GTX+ EVGA (great cards, never EVER reach 70 percent usage on my system)

Been upgrading her since built in 2007. Only one processor to upgrade to before I build a new system. Will make a great server for killing floor when retired.

  11. no.

Check out the topic of the thread. We've strayed far enough.

The only reason i brought them up is because you did, using the lack of these things as evidence of "lack of work" on bioware's part. Obviously, these things aren't as cut and dried as you portrayed them to be, and the contention seen in just one page of discussion shows how little consensus there is. Not including them isn't a flaw. I'd go so far as to say that it's good design to leave them out until you know what your community actually wants from them.

Regardless, the rest of your point remains just as wrong and naive as it ever was. The topic of this thread is software development process and the purpose of my posts was to correct your obvious lack of understanding on the issue, provide other readers with a counter-point to your opinions, and corroborate the blog post as an actual software developer, instead of many other people posting here who have absolutely zero knowledge of the subject.

    plus fifty

  12. This game has the worst customer service I've ever experienced from a game in my life. My tickets go unanswered for weeks at a time, and when I do get them answered, it's an automated response.

It's a joke and it needs to be addressed immediately. The quality of support is just incredibly bad and inexcusable.

Yet again another thread with the same title as at least 50 previous threads complaining about customer service response times/message content with no question posed or discussion pointed towards solving the users problem(s).

  13. Or you can get the dancer outfit from the Security Key Vendors scattered around. No need to grind Social rank 2 that way.

And if you are playing and don't have a Security Key yet .... get one it will save you.

TOTALLY have my security key set up. WORTH IT. Thanks!

  14. You will need an optical drive and operating system if you don't already have them.

Nothing stands out though as being a problem here. However, are you certain you need 16 GB of RAM? When gaming you rarely need more than 4-6 unless you are doing some heavy multi-tasking. You could save $100 by going with 8 GB and you won't notice a bit of difference unless you plan on doing some pretty major multi-tasking or photo/video editing.

Also, if you do need 16 GB of RAM, explore the possibility of buying two 8 GB kits instead of one 16 GB kit. The reason for this is if you ever have to RMA one stick of RAM, they typically want you to RMA the entire kit. So if you buy a 16 GB kit that is 4 sticks and one dies, you have to return all 4 sticks and you are left with no memory until the replacement arrives. However two 8 GB kits will only require you to RMA 2 sticks, leaving you with 2 good sticks in your computer until the replacement parts arrive. This is a matter of preference though and isn't really that important.

What he said, although you may want to look at a different PSU. I would suggest this 1000W psu
