  1. Referral program WORKED for years, even though it had its drawbacks. But let's be real: every other solution would have its drawbacks.

The easiest solution would be to bring back referral program in its old way and reduce all credits that players have by some ratio.

But maybe BioWare wanted players to spend more money on the game, and that's why they removed referral program. Maybe

they are happy with the current state of the economy.

  2. I share your frustration. I used a two-month time card I had bought a while back, figured I'd come back to being a sub for a bit, to see how I like the new expansion, and now that will expire around the time of the expansion. While I understand that the fine print means they aren't legally on the hook for anything, it left me feeling like I was the victim of a bait and switch scheme.

I'm not really frustrated, because I really enjoy the game and I'll probably buy another subscription anyway. I just thought it would be fair for BioWare to do something like this.

  3. It is if your system is up for it. Just getting it over 4.0 will improve it.

4.05 - 4.10 for everyday is very doable if you can keep your temps down and run stable.

Is your WC a custom loop or are you using AIO?

If custom loop? Are your GPUs part of it?

What temps do you get on the CPU under a stress test? Prime95 is a good one to use.

    The 4770k system @ 4.2 runs 3 x 24” @ 1080 x5760

It has and AMD RX 580, SSD and 16GB Ram

FPS never drops under 80 FPS in WZs and can run up to 200FPS.

Of course that’s just a waste of power and increases heat. So I’ve capped the FPS @ 100FPS.

And you play on high settings? I only have one 1080p monitor and I have drops to 30-40, and I didn't play 8v8 PVP yet, only 4v4. I hope that changing processor will help :)

  4. I have i5-3470. In PVE I sometimes get drops to 40-50 fps, but they last for a second or something, so it's not really bothering me. I didn't play PVP and Operations on this computer yet, but I'm afraid that I would get worse fps there... But I heard before that no matter what PC you have, you'll always get huge fps drops in PVP and Operations, so maybe it's true... :)
  5. OP: You had to put a lot of effort to write this post and I appreciate that. I agree with most of what you wrote.

I think BioWare just didn't have an idea on how to continue SW:TOR, on how to extend its existence.

This is all just a mess right now. To be honest, it was from the beginning. They want to create a single player game in MMO world, which isn't working very well. I'm SW:TOR player since beta, but I'm really tired of BioWare's decisions. They literally have no idea what to do. This whole game is so inconsistent. That's how it ends when you want to create a single player game, but at the same time you want to make a lot of money and take advantage of Star Wars fans. You end up with mediocre free-to-play MMO with mediocre story.

(I know that probably i will get banned for saying the truth in this post, but yeah, whatever)

  6. This game was a PVP game from the start and created some of the best new maps for battle grounds in a long, long time.

MOBA games are hot right now because they are PVP oriented but you got MMOs like this game and WOW who have lost sight of that listening to PVE players and than wonder why their subscriptions are falling and the genre is dying.

The only game worth any time really is Wildstar in my opinion. They give you pretty much anything these games give you. I am frustrated with SWTOR because the restrictions it has implimented on to PVP along with piss poor management of the priority of PVP.

Wildstar has a lot of very good solutions.

  7. No thanks. The majority of players I have talked to in game do not PVP. PVP has absolutely NO interest for me.

If you like it, great!! Have a blast. However, if this game had been a PVP game to start, I would never have started playing it.

My advice would be, if you want PVP, wait for Battlefront since that is basically PVP only....

Why so offensive? I didn't say anything that could hurt your feelings.

I'm not a PVP player. Honestly, I've played PVP only couple times. Why? Because PVP in TOR is mediocre, and it's not only my opinion. Why is it mediocre? Because it was never a priority for BioWare. It should be. It's not an opinion, it's just logical. PVP is the only thing you can repeat that never gets boring. Why? Because it's never the same.

I can play dailies for as long as I have something to buy. But what if there is nothing that I want to buy?

I can play story for as long as there is something that I can discover. But what if there is nothing else that I can discover? Besides, not everyone wants to have more than one character.

If you want to wait one year to play 6 hours of story, fine. I don't want to. I want to play SW:TOR everyday, while waiting for a new story to come out. And I think there is nothing wrong about it.

And no, I won't play Battlefront. I don't like it.

  8. Ok, I get that TOR is mostly a story-driven game, but hey, you really want to wait whole year just to play 6 hours? Or 1 month to play 30 minutes? I don't think so. PVP should be BioWare's priority, because this is something that players can play forever. We have a lot of top-selling games that only have PVP. Story should be something... additional, something players would look forward to, but not the highest priority.

    That's how it should be:

You play amazing PVP matches, waiting for an amazing story.

I would love to have PVP arenas on every planet. Just imagine: you play your PVP match on Zakuul, thinking about what you've already accomplished in Knights of the Fallen Empire, and waiting for a new content to come out.

  9. Personally, I like that companions are OP, especially when I'm doing dailies. Maybe because I'm only using companions as healers? Maybe. I like that I don't have to worry about gearing my companion anymore. I think it's a very good change. If you want some challenge, you should play PVP or Hard Flashpoints/Operations. You will not have companions there. I would only disable companions for boss fights while playing story content, because boss fights should be hard.
  10. You give it a 6/10 when you give gameplay a 5/10? Where does that 5/10 even come from, you list 3 things you find unappealing and nothing you liked.

    I give your review a 1/10

I gave 5/10 only because I like core combat of TOR.

6/10 is summary of all elements, because - in my opiniony - every part is important.

    I respect your criticism.

  11. Story: 7,5/10 (Definitely better than previous stories)

    Characters: 7

Cinematics: 7/10 (You can see the improvement)

Sound desing: 3/10 (Some repeatability is good, but hearing the same effects throughout entire game is starting to be really annoying. In how many places can you put this elevator sound?)

Music: 4/10 (The same music over and over again. Maybe it is time to write something new? Even if there was something new, I didn't notice)

    Voice acting: 7/10

Gameplay: 5/10 (Fights are easy and boring. No puzzles, no interesting mechanics)

    Locations: 7/10

    Overall score: 6/10

  12. I'm really, really happy with all changes coming in 4.0 and I believe I am not alone. How can you be upset? Because you'll lose ways to cheat other players, which make you feel better than others? I can't find any other reason.

SWTOR community is very toxic, so I'm really happy that BioWare is finally doing something about this.
