  1. Sorry in advance for the tl;dr!

What is your general feeling on the Stronghold?

I have literally been wanting an Alderaan stronghold since strongholds were announced and generally this is exactly what I wanted. I love the stained glass window and the window lighting effects throughout the stronghold. I love the little lights and rugs that have already been placed and overall how ornate the castle is. I don't feel a need to put something absolutely everywhere to make it look 'finished' but there is enough flexibility for me to do what I want to do decorating-wise.

Are there any specific rooms you like, or don't like, and why? Please be specific.

    • The hook layout in the Study, Drawing Room, Guest Chamber, and the weird little living room(?) in the Northern Lodgings could use a small adjustment. Please move the Large hooks together so that Medium Narrow hooks can be placed along all of the walls, not just the back wall. This is particularly important in the Study, because right now it is impossible to place library archives flush against the side walls. Also, if the Small hooks crossing the rooms were converted to Medium Narrows, it would be possible to break them down if desired or section off a part of the room (reading nook, anyone?).
    • The Study, Drawing Room, and Guest Chamber are too dark. I have a lot of ceiling lights that are really pretty and much more suited to the stronghold but they sadly don't give off much or any light. And since many 'lamp' decorations also do not give off much or any light, there's not much one can do. I have to use 'uglier' lights just to get any illumination, and it's still not enough to get decent lighting on paintings or banners placed on the center of the wall (the most egregious dark spot IMO).
    • I'm okay with the Study not having windows because I want to cover most of the walls with library archives/artifacts/computer displays, and as it is it feels cozy. But the Drawing Room and Guest Chamber feel almost dreary and cave-like, and I'd never want to turn one of them into a bedroom, you know? It would help if the rooms were brighter, but also Alderaan is beautiful and I want maximum window-age.
    • I have mixed feelings about the Throne Room. On one hand, it has the best view but it's blocked by the dais. On the other hand, if it had a door that closed it could be a really neat regal bedroom. I will likely be using the main hall as my throne room since all the 'impressive' thrones (ie, Throne of Enlightenment, Dark Eternal Throne) don't fit for obvious reasons. I do love the rug and the pre-placed lights.
    • The balcony is wonderful, the view is wonderful, the hot tub does indeed fit out there (:D), and my only complaint is that I can't jump in the pool without dying XD
    • I looooooove the windows in the main bedrooms, and the light effects on the hallway windows and the stained glass window. Honestly I don't want to put anything at all in the center of the main hall because I don't want to interfere with the reflection.

Does the Stronghold feel too big? Too small? Why?

I think it feels about right for what it is? I'm definitely going to have to clean out multiple strongholds to get it where I want it, but again, the stronghold is so beautiful that it doesn't feel 'off' if you don't stick stuff absolutely everywhere.

If you could change one thing about the Stronghold, what would it be?

I would like another bedroom, with a big window, to be at least on par with what you get in Coruscant and Dromund Kaas. Maybe it can be part of the Western Lodgings unlock since you get another room with the Northern Lodgings. I would rather have the room added on, but I wouldn't cry if that 'living room' got sacrificed to make another bedroom.

And okay, this is two things, but the Drawing Room and Guest Chamber really need windows of their own...

Does the increased hook density feel too cluttered?

    • I feel like there is hook density in places I don't want it and not enough in places where I do. The centerpiece hooks feel awkward in the middle of the main hall (again, I don't want to place anything large there because it doesn't take any of the cool lighting effect of the stained glass window). I would rather have a centerpiece hook option opposite the elevator in that blank space - it's a much better place to showcase something without taking away from one of the stronghold's best features. And as I've said previously, I think the hook arrangement in the smaller rooms could be adjusted to have Medium Narrows along all the walls.
    • Please add ceiling hooks to the overhangs in the main hall. I've tried putting a throne in the back there but it's just so dark...
    • Please add floor hooks to the 'Elysium vault' on the Mountain Retreat grounds. I'm glad that you included this area, but with no ability to really put anything in it, I don't really know what to do with it.
    • Please add centerpiece hooks closer to the main path on the Mountain Retreat grounds. I wanted to put some of the garden decorations out there but they end up so far away from where the player is likely to be that you really can't appreciate them as well.

Does the number and placement of hooks feel too restrictive given the Stronghold's decoration cap?

The axis of movement on the X/Y axis feels more restrictive than the hook placement. I would like it if there was enough range of movement that I could center a Large item horizontally in the smaller rooms if I want to. The carved archway can make certain decorations look really weird if they aren't centered. Overall that would be a huge QoL upgrade for the decorating community if it could be implemented.

Alternatively, more hook layout options that would allow us to center a Large hook in those rooms would also be great.

Anything else you want to add?

Overall I really do love this stronghold and I'm so happy that we're finally getting it!

  2. Today's patch introduced a new stronghold bug! The airspeeder sound effects outside the Coruscant stronghold have been seriously increased in volume and pitch, so much so that you can hear it everywhere in the stronghold, not just outside it. These sounds should NOT be inside the stronghold, and they weren't until after today's patch. It ruins this stronghold, because instead of a nice quiet apartment or home, you feel like you're standing in the middle of a major US highway.

Another note about these new incredibly loud speeder sounds: they are NOT attached to the Ambient Volume slider (like they should be) but to the Sound FX Volume slider. You have to turn off ALL Sound FX to make them go away, which doesn't make sense as they are ambient outside noise (or at least they were until today!). The normal subdued speeder sounds are still attached to the Ambient Volume slider, and said sounds muffle/go away when you leave the outside balcony on Coruscant like they should. So it sounds like they decided to add more speeder sounds to the Sound FX "layer" in addition to the Ambient "layer" in game? Why would you do that?! It has to be a bug; those sounds haven't been on that "channel" for 6+ years. Take them out again!

Coruscant is my main stronghold for my Pub characters so I noticed this immediately after the last patch. I'm going to try to explain this a little more:

There are two "speeder sound" tracks: one ambient (played both inside and outside) and a 'zooming speeder' track that exclusively plays outside. The 'zooming speeder' track is not affected; it is still only playing outside as intended. The ambient track is supposed to be muffled inside, like the ambient city sounds on the Nar Shaddaa stronghold. However, somehow the patch broke the muffling effect and it is now at the full outside volume everywhere in the stronghold. I'd really appreciate it if you could fix this back to how it was; it's enough of an annoyance that if it's not patched, my characters are moving out even though Coruscant is my favorite.

    • Kira and Scourge decorations aren't granted after their introduction on Odessen and they are still holo-people in strongholds my Knight placed them in
    • My Imperial loyalist SI who married Lana did not get an option to kiss her at the end
    • Arn and Tau don't follow correctly throughout Objective Meridian. There are several points (the fight before the elevator, leaving the Selonian tunnels, right before the fight with Malgus) where they just refuse to move. Arn will heal, but he and Tau will not fight. I tried to force pull them but was told that Tau wasn't eligible for force pulling and Arn was't 'visible' to my char even though there were no actual LOS issues. I didn't have any problems with Anri or Malgus in the same locations.
    • Can confirm there are no returning companions on the SI ship at level 75, just Treek and HK-51. Also Treek's box is missing from the Consular ship (she's just standing there instead of sitting on it).
    • Maybe not a bug, but it was disappointing to not be presented with Saboteur, LS, and DS options on Mek-Sha. For the sake of preserving her cover, my Imp saboteur did go ahead and activate the failsafe, but I was disappointed she didn't get the option to sabotage the fuel but not blow up the ships.

  3. More bugs from tonight:

    • The Onderon City Wall decoration seems to be missing from the reputation vendor. Checked on the vendors on both sides.
    • I received the saboteur/backed Vowrawn up mail on an Imperial loyalist character. Other flags seem to be okay.
    • Minor bug, but the ship droids keep disappearing or never show up on the character select screen for the Consular, Inquisitor, Knight, and Agent. I've seen C2-N2 on my Sage only after logging out of her, and if I click to another character and back, he's gone. The classes where they seem to be stable are the Warrior, Bounty Hunter, Smuggler, and Trooper.
    • Hand textures are still bugged on female body 1 for many (but not all) gloves that expose the hands (ie, resort wear, Thexan's armor)

  4. On a Telekinetics Sage, I'm getting "Force-Healer" instead of "Force Lord" 268 gear from the story boxes. After this happened, I tried right-clicking my portrait to see if the gearing discipline had been set incorrectly, but there's no option to view or adjust that (no new options at all, really, so I know I didn't hit something accidentally). Is this part of the known Telekinetics Sage gearing issues or something else?

Tested on my DPS assassin and did receive the "Force Lord" set correctly instead of the tanking set.

  5. It appears that some of the hand/skin textures for female body type 1 and Vector have become broken. On some hand armors that show skin, the skin is either flat textureless black or a weird bronze. I think this happened in the last patch or one of the quick fixes, because I've used some of these sets for years with no problems. They look fine on the in-world model, but the textures are broken in cutscenes and in the preview screen. Changing skin tones did not fix the bug - the only thing that fixed it in the appearance modification screen was to change my character's body type.

Female body type 1 in the Resort Swimwear gloves (this is how most of the bugged gloves look)

And in the Gav Daragon set (the weird bronze)

I tried to see if the Gav Daragon set was bugged on my current companion, Vector, and got this rather horrifying sight. You can't see from the screenshot, but his arms are glossy like they're metallic. I then put him in the Resort Swimwear just to see how far this bug went and yikes, someone please get this man to a doctor. I tried to recreate this bug on another male companion (I think it was either Andronikos or Theron) but was unable to, so I'm not sure if it's a body type bug or a Vector-specific bug.

I was able to recreate the hand bug on female companions that appear to be Body Type 1. However, this bug is not happening on all 'hand' armor that exposes skin. I have tested the following on female body type 1:

    Bugged:

    Resort Swimwear

    Thexan's Robes (bronze hands)

    Gav Daragon (bronze hands)

    Jori Daragon

    Relaxed Vestments

    Not Bugged:

    Satele Shan

    Bastila Shan

    Wicked Huntress

Force Apprentice (this is weird because the model is so similar to the Relaxed Vestments set)

The various Dancer sets (tested the Imperial and social set bracelets)

    Xoxaan

There are more reports/screenshots of this happening on this reddit thread. Some comments mention that male body type 2 is bugged, but I don't play any male characters and can't independently confirm.

  6. Many of them will be, but not all. It depends on the story we are telling with that particular Companion returning. I will make sure we note that for the future returns so you know which is which.

Would any consideration be given to being able to claim these companions from a terminal if we want them for another character? No new lines would need to be recorded and it would be no different immersion-wise from running with Shae/Hexid/etc before you meet them in the story. I won't speak for anyone else, but I'm fine with using my imagination to fill in the gaps. There are definitely certain companions I was looking forward to getting on other classes.

  7. YES! I've been avoiding taking my sorc through KOTFE until Andronikos returned, although I'm sad my other characters won't be able to recruit him or Risha. And I'm assuming this means they'll stay silent going forward, which is also unfortunate.

Still, glad to finally have him back.

  8. Please reinstate the following. With a reasonable drop rate. Not a, "it's on the loot table with a drop rate so low it's statistically unlikely you'll ever get it, but we can say it's there" drop rate.

    Flashpoint Decorations:

As guaranteed drops in MM and VM, and reasonably attainable in (when applicable) solo-modes:

    Ancient Burial Urn -- Athiss

Banner: Czerka Sunrise -- Czerka Labs

Computer Desk (Imperial) -- Maelstrom Prison (Pub)

Computer Desk (Republic) -- Boarding Party (Imp)

    Cryogenics Tank -- Lost Island

Czerka Data Core -- Czerka Core

Decorative Gear Arrangement -- Blood Hunt

Illumination Probe Crate -- Blood Hunt

Large Field Generator -- Kaon Under Siege

Manned Blaster Turret -- Colicoid Wargame

Mentor Processing Core -- Directive 7

Mining Cart: Asteroid Rocks -- Hammer Station

Multi-state Mainframe Terminal -- Battle of Rishi

Orbital Power Monitor -- Kuat Drive Yards

Potted Tree Rakata Palm -- Legacy of the Rakata (drops are reinstated, but at a very, very low rate)

Power Transformer (Imperial) -- Black Talon (Imp)

Power Transformer (Republic) -- Esseles (Pub)

Rakata Stasis Chamber -- Foundry (Imp)

    Rocket Propelled Missile -- Cademimu

Starship Medical Tank -- Mandalorian Raiders

Statue of Cowled Man -- Assault on Tython

Statue of the Ancient Slave -- Korriban Incursion

Statue of The Emperor -- False Emperor

    Other Decorations:

    Drops from mobs on worlds:

Large Crystal Formation (Purple) -- Ilum

    Dark Datacron (Aim) -- Ilum

Dark Datacron (Cunning) -- Nar Shaddaa

    Dark Datacron (Endurance) -- Makeb

    Dark Datacron (Presence) -- Corellia

    Dark Datacron (Strength) -- Tatooine

    Dark Datacron (Willpower) -- Belsavis

    Light Datacron (Aim) -- Hoth

    Light Datacron (Cunning) -- Quesh

    Light Datacron (Endurance) -- Voss

    Light Datacron (Presence) -- Taris

    Light Datacron (Strength) -- Balmorra

    Light Datacron (Willpower) -- Alderaan

    Pets:

Again, as guaranteed drops in MM and VM, and reasonably attainable in solo-mode:

Aquatic mewvorr -- Depths of Manaan FP

Goldplate Mewvorr -- Assault on Tython/Korriban Incursion FPs

Heartglow Mewvorr -- Assault on Tython/Korriban Incursion FPs

Prismatic Mewvorr -- Legacy of the Rakata FP

Force Hound -- Battle of Rishi

Currency to purchase decorations -- Recovered Relics from Tython/Korriban FPs:

Two decorations require 25 Recovered Relics each (and Universal prefabs) to purchase. The Sith Academy Obelisk and the Holocron of Ancient Masters. Currently, one Recovered Relic is given with the completion of the Tython/Korriban part of Forged Alliances. We used to have a chance at Recovered Relics doing the Tython and Korriban FPs outside of Forged Alliances (solo-mode, I don't know about the drop rate of VM and MM). Please make this possible again.

Basically, this entire post with some additions:

    -Makeb gazebo

-The Cartel Certificate decorations need to be actually obtainable. As it is now, if you're lucky enough to find a stronghold with the slot machines, you still have to contend with the abysmal drop rate.

-Please fix the decoration drops in heroic mode Star Fortresses.

-I really want the Fireplaces to return for this year's Life Day.

(also I think the purple Large Crystal Formation drops from the Battle of Ilum FP - I'd hate for that to get left off the list)

  9. Seconding all of this! It's been really frustrating watching everyone, especially potential LIs, slowly disappear completely from the main storyline just because there's an option to kill them.

Also, please don't bring the original LIs back as Alliance Alerts, at least not in the current format - they're pretty unfulfilling even for regular companions and alert-recruited companions never get to chime in for the story proper. Our LIs should be able to share the current storyline with us, and they should come back in fully voiced, fully animated cutscenes.

  10. This issue should now be resolved. If you run into it again, please let me know the server you are on and what faction you are playing.

    Thanks!

    -eric

Ebon Hawk, Republic side. My roommate also noticed a lot of naked companions in her Tatooine stronghold (and I get it, it's really hot, but Guss please).

    A few more things:

    • The stronghold isn't considered a rest zone ("unsafe area" warning when logging out, no "you have entered a rest zone" on load).
    • My main character doesn't have Blizz yet, but he wasn't consistently a holo (and was missing his nameplate) when she was running around. Not sure if this applies to other companions since Doc seemed fine.
    • A lot of hooks that seem like they should be centered (or at least consistently off-center) are not. This was particularly obvious when I was trying to place benches in the medium narrow hooks along the entryway's walls, but a lot of hook placements seemed like they had drifted 1-3 ticks over. Decorations that I am really sure were set to 20 on the X or Y axis keep drifting to 19 as well.
    • Were the Felusia Stato and master datacron display limits meant to be increased to a maximum of 6? We used to have enough for one per stronghold but the maximum is still set to 4 each.
    • As others have mentioned, the intro video plays every time, but I like it! It's nice to see my stronghold improve as I work on it and the views really are fantastic.

Overall, I really love it! Thanks for making it happen. :)

  11. Funny someone should mention a pocket healer because she has a sorcerer friend who also really wants that pergola. I've healed for flashpoints and ops but although I've played the game for years, I've never touched PVP either.

So from that wording, should we be staying somewhat together if the area is really spread-out and watching out for each other? (This would probably be a best-case scenario so I can handle chat wrangling and the calls for us both.)
