  1. Ok, let's see:

Problem: Users couldn't tell when reactive abilities (or those that consume a resource) are available during GCD because all icons are greyed out during CD's.

Implemented solution: Icons only grey out when they aren't useable (i.e. not enough resource, mob needs to be stunned first, whatever) They stay bright during CD. Resulting problem: Hard to tell when skills with long CD are off their CD as the "CD fill" is basically invisible.

Proposed *real* solution: Icons still grey out if they are on their OWN CD, not during GCD. Fixes both problems.

Thank you for this. I like seeing people provide solutions rather than just complaining about something.

I personally hope that Bioware never forces us to have a numerical option for abilities on cooldown. I prefer the look as it is today. I do however welcome the ability to choose between the two.

  2. I don't argue with color crystals having stats, but they should all have the same stats. The choice of which color you use should be purely aesthetic, while the choice of which stat you want on that color should be based on. . . well, which stat you want on that color. All color crystals should be created equal. I absolutely do not want to see a "Lime Green Epic Color Crystal of Butt-Kicking +5" or a "Fuchsia Color Crystal of I Win" or even a "Purple Color Crystal of I'm More Awesome Than You."

I'm very low in level so maybe things change towards the level cap, but are you saying that the higher end green crystals give all primary stats while the rare magenta crystals give all secondary? I ask because I thought you could get your stat of choice (based on what is available in the game of course) from whatever color you could find.

  3. Luckily in swtor your companions can gather the node while you fight it out.

I remember reading someone post that the node gets tapped (for xp) but the items don't actually get looted. Is this true?

  4. You can get Orange schematics from Underworld Trading, Investigation, and (possibly) Slicing lockboxes. I can 100% confirm the former two are correct.

Thanks for the confirmation! With UT and Inv can you report on which one gave the most Orange schematics?

  5. Underworld Trading is the ONLY place to get the "Orange" type gear.

According to Torhead, Underworld Trading doesn't seem to produce Custom (Orange) schematics. Are you 100% sure this is the case?

I know that Investigation produces schematics, but it seems they are only Prototype (Blue) quality.

Any confirmed information (screen shots would be lovely) would be greatly appreciated!

  6. Yah it is nice to be able to pick whatever.. Now which spieces should I pick now, is the question?

Pick the one that looks the most pleasing to you. You'll be staring at them a lot with all of the cutscenes so you might as well make the most of it, right?

  7. Will I be doing myself a disservice by leveling in sawbones spec?

I really want to get acquanted with all of my healing moves, and I enjoy group healing while leveling, however the more I read, the more it seems like healing specs are useless until higher level.

    What would you all suggest?

I suggest you play the way you want to play. Leveling as a healer may be slower (I never played one so I have no clue) but you said you wanted to learn the healing mechanics and you would be doing just that. If you know you want to be a healer come endgame, then you can start down the Sawbones path. If you don't like it you can "respec" into the Scrapper or Dirty Fighting trees and return to Sawbones after you hit level 50.

Let us know what you decide to do and keep us updated on how it's going!

  8. This is a fantastic guide!

    Some quick feedback:

According to Zam's "SWTOR for the WoW Player" guide, a few things have changed since you wrote this (The color of the beam when looting enemies, as well as the name and order of the loot tables). You may want to check it out to help further polish your guide.

    Keep up the great work!

  9. Greetings all,

I didn't play with Armstech during Beta, but would like to try it now. What level should I go and purchase the new schematics? If there is a guide telling me what levels I will see new schematics at the trainer, please let me know.

    Thanks

I will gladly sell you a few prototype schematics that I've found via Investigation...

    Show me the credits!!

  10. Actually, it is true. Artifice, for example, does not create ay mods with +Aim. It can create +Str/+End and +Will/+End mods.

I just looked at the Cybertech schematic list on Torhead and saw every single one of those stats (plus others) on various mods/armoring. I still don't see how that means Cybertech "only has a few things useful to all classes."

You specifically didn't mention this, just replying you to because you replied to me.

    This is no longer true.

Artifice creates Power Crystals and Enhancements, which all classes use. Cybertech creates Armoring and Mods, which all classes uses.

    This was changed last build.

Thanks for this! It seems the original person that said this was referencing an old build.

  11. cybertech will make a FEW things that every class can use but is much more useful to non force users.

I'm curious how you came to this conclusion? From what I've read, Cybertechs make armoring/mods/earpieces that every single class in the game can use. What are the things that are much more useful to non-force users?

I'm not trying to be rude here, I honestly want to know.
