  1. I can't talk about other classes, but Vanguard and Mercenary both get visual or audio effects when they get proccs (Vanguard toons will laugh deviously when Ionic Accelerator proccs and Mercenaries get some kind of red scanner around them when Barrage procs)
  2. So, i don't know if this has been adressed in a thread already, but Voidstar became just wierd in 1.2.

The scenario is the following: I and my team start as the defenders, and we hold the line perfectly. Our enemies don't even manage to plant a single bomb. Then we became the attackers, and managed to place the first bomb in no time. The door blows, we instantly won, grabbed some additional medals and left the Warzone. Yet, any time this happens, I leave with less commendations and valor than in any other Warzone win. Why is that?

Well, it's actually easy explained. As of 1.2 the commendations recieved at the end of a WZ are dependent on the team's score. Blowing a door in Voidstar is worth 1 score point. Since we defended perfectly and only needed to blow up one door, my team wasn't able to get a score higher than 1. If the enemy team had managed to blow up, say 1 door and to activate the bridges, the game would've been over after we blew the doors to the 3rd room, enabling us to get a score of 3. So basically we were punished for being too good at defending.

How to solve this? If you want to keep the commendation system as it is (dependent on the teams score) remove the insta-win in Voidstar. The extra medals you get for winning extra fast are nice - but only if you hadn't managed to get 8 medals during the match anyways. In every Voidstar I won like this, I had always way over 8 medals, and always ended up with around 50-60 commendations.

  3. Hardly. That's like saying an athlete that accepts a trophy can't feel good about what hes done unless they can shove it in people faces--or a soldier with a medal.

I like having proof that I did something, not just the memory. I want to feel like my work was recognized and rewarded.

*Pirate opens chest - finds note* 'Now you're asking yourself <Where's the treasure?>. Look deep into yourself and you'll find that it's all the memories and friendships you've found on your long journey here. '

    *Pirate crew responding*

    'Oh .. '

    'How nice!'

    'Better than gold!'

  4. I agree that different item-score-brackets would be a good idea. However, they should think about letting you join higher brackets, if you want so - most of the people I PvP with are friends of mine, but they are battlemaster already and have a good bunch of battlemaster gear: So why exactly should I not be able to play with my friends, only because I haven't got as much time to farm Valor and gear?
  5. Have you actually taken a look at the video? That's the point of the post. BioWare is seriously mocking the community, boasting that they'd do what 'the community' wants. The last 30 hours, this forum was flooded with posts of unsatisfied customers (yeah, there were some satisfied ones too, but the ratio is like Imp-Rep-Imbalance on most servers) who demanded serious changes to Ilum, by not giving a huge advantage to the overpopulated faction, suggesting the servers to be taken down immediately and to start working on this problem. What happened? After about 10! hours BioWare said they would be 'investigating possible issues'. After another 12 hours the servers were finally taken down - and what was acutally changed? Now it's not possible to spawncamp WoW - huge improvement.

    This is excellent trolling, BioWare.

    I do not want either.

    Imp, go home.

  6. The actual problem of Death From Above and Mortar Volley comparison is the following:

Death From Above starts doing damage instantly. Mortar Volley actually waits until the channeling bar is like half done already until the first blast deals damage. Hell, the last blast deals damage AFTER the spell his been fully channeled.

On topic: No, I don't think DoA affects range.

  7. To be honest, I use to read posts like these and half believe it, yeah people threatening to quit are just trolls and stuff. Until, I felt like quitting myself.

The damage done here is trust and faith in bioware. This has been lost, people are more hesitant, reluctant to invest time, money and effort into this game which they believe may screw them over again. This is real, and this is happening, whether people choose to believe they are merely trolls or not.

At the end of the day though, people really don't need to say they unsubbed, and people don't need to call those that do, trolls, idiots, etc. It's basically real, people have unsubbed, bidding their time to see how bioware handles this. Folks have come to realize, the best way to hurt a company, is through their revenue, this is universal, and that's what many have done, many more will do.

I honestly don't know whether this game will make it or not, but I know for a fact, how they handle this event, will dictate it's future.

qft. Couldn't have said it better myself.

  8. one of the first battlemaster imps on darth traya, for your info, weeks ago. still im not whining about other people getting to battlemaster fast now, i like competition. unlike you obviously.

WoW, an Imp not complaining about the Imps being extremely favoured. You, sir, deserve a medal.
