  1. My advice, pick something you enjoy playing. If the class fists your playstyle, you will get more dps out of it than if you try forcing yourself to conform to a playstyle you don't enjoy or that you don't excel at.

Do you like to stay at range or do you like melee?

Do you like the option of having self heals or extra defensive abilities?

If you can give us a little more information, we may be able to better guide you to a class you will both enjoy and excel at.

  2. I think the level 60 token toons don't have access to the old story companions even if you yank them back to fleet right after you start them, i think you only get comps as you play through the story. I could be mis-remembering, but I think that's how it is.

Either way, if an alert companion is an original companion to your class, you do not need to do the rep portion of the quest (and some parts of the quests) to get them back, with the exception of Yuun. Yuun's quest you must complete as is.

Counselor gets Qyzen, Trooper gets M1-4X, Warrior gets Pierce, Agent gets Lokin (just need to do the quest part), Bounty Hunter gets Blizz (just need to do the quest part) with no rep required.

Also, Inquisitor gets Talos Drellik with out completing relic hunt quest.

  3. The starter gear is blue and not modable. I want to say its rating 188, but I could be off a little. Questing through Kotfe you will loot random green and blue gear that is higher rating than the starter set, and the chapter quests will reward green gear, rating 194 i think. So just playing through will give you upgrades to the starter set.

As was mentioned before, if you want to do fps, ops, or just make heroics easier, you will want more than you get from the story quests. You can get rating 200/208/212 crafted gear, use crystals to buy gear from fleet vendors, run star fortresses, etc.

What is your end game goal? What you want to do changes your gear needs.

  4. Since others have answered the first question quite thoroughly at this point, I skip to #2. Whether you go LS/DS can affect your opinion of some of the stories, so I included that as well for reference.

I didn't really enjoy the LS trooper story.

I loved the DS Inquisitor and enjoyed the LS agent.

I did the Counselor story both LS and DS, as a LS sage it made complete sense and my character fit the story well- it was good, as a DS shadow I felt like i was wearing a shoe that didn't fit.

DS warrior was really good, dark Jeassa is.... interesting.

    Mostly LS smuggler was, ok.

My bounty hunter was more DS than LS but it was always about credits, honor, or pragmatism, story turned out pretty good this way.

The LS knight story was pretty good, as well. Haven't tried DS yet.

  5. i don't either i also don't get how they say the defiance mission for ashara is fixed and it still is broke im upset about that.

Let me guess, male character romancing her?

Just as an FYI - it is fixed for female characters, still broke for males romancing her. (Confirmed in several of the threads about this issue) Still don't know about males that chose not to romance her... No one from this camp has spoken up to my knowledge.

Sorry you are still broke tho...

  6. I selected the reset option, as i noticed Jorgan was naked and unarmed (lol) and now its taken me back to the alliance base but i cant do anything, all of my menus have disappeared and the conversation logo has appeared by my characters head but it wont advance any further then that. pressing esc does nothing and the only way i can get out of it is by manually closing the game. Any one have any ideas or am i just going to have to wait for yet ANOTHER fix.

This happened to me too. But I figured the problem was having Theron Shan as active companion. The problem was that I had to talk to him but have him summoned. I just switched to another companion and it worked fine :) Hitting the ESC ended the conversation for me (well the conversation icon around my chars head :))

Yup, you will need to summon someone other than Theron and then start the chapter. Should work.

  7. This is technically a bug. They aren't supposed to count, but it seems if you have a token 60 and there is a patch, it bugs and counts. Happened to me with an Inq right after 4.0 released. Made a token 60 Inq, leveled to 65, patch, instant completion of legendary.

I have since leveled one legit, so I have no idea if they ever fixed the bug. Sounds like not.

  8. I am having the exact same issue. In an instance or not I can't reset the chapter and Jorgan is nowhere to be seen. I'm early on where you have to talk to him and I have a feeling he's supposed to be your companion since I can't summon a different one. I've logged out and in, completely quit out and went back in and nothing. This of course in addition to the neke Cathar with no gun...

Are you still in the area where you are supposed to talk to him or have you moved on to where you are supposed to head to the vantage point? If there is any doubt whether or not you are in an instance area or not, try porting to Fleet and try your reset there.

    /crosses fingers for you

  9. You do have to exit the phase before you try or it will be grayed out.

I had to reset it myself due to naked Jorgan. Just exit out of the conversation, leave the instance and Reset.

If that doesn't work, relog and try again, but be sure you are not in the same area where you are supposed to meet him.

If it still doesn't work, I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help...
