  1. I have been opening with this..

     

    spike

    reckless

    maul

    maul(rotate around)

    Low slash( very little resolve added if any)

    maul/ VS

    shock

    blackout

    Electrocute(this fills resolve bar)

    maul/shock or assassinate depending on health level.

     

    I love using the low slash and then use electrocute later as it will keep them from using anything to get away, they usually pop their CC break on low slash and then I own them with electrocute and finish them off. But i am open to new ideas and will try some of the ones listed here.

  2. I run a pyro merc and thoroughly enjoy it, hitting 500k per unranked wz often and even topping out at 800k in one long voidstar with several healers on my team..
  3. if i see someone quit and then see them again in the next match or later that day I will ask them if they plan on sticking around or if they plan on rage quitting again since they suck..

     

    usually they quit before the match starts and we get a person who will stick around.. people dont like to be called out in public for their shortcomings and pvp is no different..

     

    I believe if we all point out who the quitters are when a group starts then those numbers will dwindle and it will happen less and less.. no one likes to be called a quitter so they might address their actions accordingly..

  4. top 5 reasons I am leaving TOR, this is no particular order.

     

    1. Poorly implemented open world PVP

     

    2. poorly conceived end game content, enrage timers are a cheap way to make content harder. repeating flash points and ops to make it seem like you have new content.

     

    3. poorly implemented and follow up on ranked WZ's, no cross server queing. Exploiters and cheaters allowed to stay because of declining subscription numbers.

     

    4. no social aspect to the game, a bunch of people standing on a station is not social. SWG and LOTRO had social events that brought people together. Including drinking and playing music. Even corps runs in swg were fun for a bit.

     

    5. No new content for pvp, NC was fine, but how many times are we going to have to do the same warzones.

  5. rotation should go like this

     

    Thermal det

    Ince Missile

    rail shot

    unload

    rail shot if it procs, if no proc hit power shot

    then rail shot again.

    then repeat... you can throw in a death from above to let the rail shot CD expire.

     

    to manage heat you will need to use your rapid shot more often but with dots and the rail shot crit it does enough damage to burn targets down fast.

     

    also make sure to get your power up over 800 as this affects your dot numbers.. I run with close to 900 power and my dots hit for about 500 each tick and 700 to 900 on crits..

     

    Pyro can do the burst damage of arsenal you just need to get the rotation down and heat is easier to manage if you use your rapid shot more often..

    1. How do you think your Assassin spec is perceived by other classes?

     

    If we are running darkness, then people assume we are using dps gear. If we are anything else, people suspect we are worthless because we die fast. Cant do high enough burst damage to kill any other class solo..

     

     

    2. How do you perceive your own spec?

     

    My spec is ok at the moment, I mean I enjoy it but it is hard work to kill people solo. I have hit 500k in warzones but average about 300k normally. its all about picking your battles with this build or any build outside of darkness.

    1. How do you think your Mercenary spec is perceived by other classes?

     

    Most people think arsenal and Pyro mercs are a joke, we have one get out of stun skill. can be LOS too often. Dont do enough dps, arent great healers anymore. cc/root leave alone as you score type of class to deal with.

     

    2. How do you perceive your own spec?

     

    I enjoy my pyro merc, average about 450k per war zone, I believe I help the group achieve our objectives, but unsure.

  8. You do know that PT and Merc Pyro is much the same build with mostly on the move atacks?

     

    Most people forget this and as a pyro merc I pass 500k regularly in ranked wz and unranked.. he is right on rotation and heat control though. with the proper rotation you will never have heat issues and I rarely do..

     

    Merc pyro just gets no love from people.. it is a very viable class in any warzone..

  9. for Mercs, Pyro is the only way to go. tracer missile spammers are rookies who love the one hit wonder.

     

    I enjoy my pyro with its burst at 5 seconds.. do I beat every class every time, no, but i dont lose every time either.

     

    Its all about your rotation with pyro. TD is your opening move if off CD.. followed by IM, then rail shot, then unload, the if RS procs, hit it again. I am usually top dps with around 450k to 600k in warzones.. first or second on kills.. when I want to insult someone i finish them off using my rapid shot(default attack) thats some funny stuff as I run around kitting them while they burn..

     

    Pyro is far more fun than arsenal spec mercs and I have played both.. but this is a personal choice for me.

     

    I think we can handle our own in most if not all fights..

  10. Hey folks,

     

    Some follow up news from observations of play and feedback over the weekend. In the next couple of days we will be deploying a small patch that will address the following issues:

     

    • As discussed, minimum medals to gain rewards will go from 3 to 1 to better reward those who are backfilled.
    • Warzones will once again be shutting down when population imbalance is detected. This was an unfortunate bug where a feature of Ranked Warzones (in full team play it is not desirable to let one team end the game prematurely by quitting out) was incorrectly implemented globally.
    • Completion of Warzones will gain a large increase in the percentage of rewards it represents, so while scoring is still the primary driver, you will cease to see games that give no rewards if players have a minimum of 1 medal earned.
    • We are extending the time we wait for a full team of eight to better make sure Warzones pop with complete teams.

     

    A huge thank you to everyone who played this weekend and provided valuable feedback and analysis.

  11. I love BW's track record, they have IMHO, fixed pvp and created GREAT BALANCE where once there was just a steaming pit of imperial sorcerors.

     

    They created a new fun and incredible world event, that is a blast and encourages OWPVP

     

    They have lowered the grind for PVP rewards SIGNIFICANTLY for everyone except...

    for those that cronically fail at making medals or helping thier team win matches...

     

    Although honestly, people making less than 30 coms in a losing warzone weren't even close

    to pulling thier weight.

     

    Btw... bugs happen in every game, and I spend plenty of matches solo'ing a tower myself, that's horrible but, it's how the game plays out, adapt, overcome..

     

    If you are making 30+ coms in a warzone you are making incredibly fast progress

    towards BM gear which used to take SIGNIFICANTLY longer to gain.

     

    I personally make sure my team wins our Wz and when we lose... I suck it up.

     

    I think the patch is great. Im having a blast with the game, and so are my guild mates and the rest of my

    servers swelling popluation.

     

    and up till yesterday I would have agreed with you, but since 1.2 more and more exploiters are running rampant on our server. I enjoy watching a republic player speed hack from east to west in under 3 seconds or watch as he disappears repeatedly in the same fight in less than 30 second intervals.

     

    The world event is nice, but I am on one of those servers that is heavy republic not imperial so even though we had even sides at first, they always call in friends and make it a 5 to 1 match. I just moved on and dropped the event quests as there was nothing to do.

     

    I love the new warzone, but dealing with exploiters in the new warzone make it harder to win even one of them. I usually never quit a warzone as I think it sets a bad example and can soil my guilds rep. SO i stick it out till the end hoping to get enough medals to get some comms.

     

    When we win, i get between 80 and 100, when we lose I normally get between 30 and 50. I am not grinding for battlemaster gear as I was a pre 1.2 full bm geared BH. I am working on my war hero gear which is a grind. I had hoped they would have let us trade our merc comms for ranked warznone comms but that didnt happen.

     

    a few suggestions I have submitted..

     

    implement a in game chat system, this will help pug'ers get more coordinated on defending and attacking

    introduce the same taking of a control point in civil war as they have in NC.

    fix resolve or remove cc till they can address it, no one should be able to be stunned to death. I have seen too many on both sides where the players is defenseless to stay alive because he is stunned the whole time.

    introduce cross server ranked/ non ranked warzones.

     

    just a few suggestions, the in game chat would be a huge help in evening things on winning and losing. Most pre-mades are using a chat system which helps them coordinate better to start off with. I know my guild does, and I know of a lot do. But what if there were a in game system that allowed you to speak with everyone, so much easier to say incoming east, 3, instead of trying to type it while defending.

    Most pre-mades work because they use some sort of chat system, teamspeak, mumble or vent. If this game had a chat system I could see it really helping pvp alot.

  13. The only reason you get 0/0/0 in a warzone is because you don't play objectives. Why do you even play warzones if you don't play to win?

     

    and your wrong. in a civil war wz last night, we captured the east turret to start off, i stayed back to defend while my team tried to capture the mid or west. While there I received no defender points even while defending against a few opposing players. So once they were killed and someone took my place i went on the offensive and received no attacker points while trying to take mid in a coordinated attack.

     

    I got my healing medal and the capture medal, I also got my 300k medal and the killing blow medal.but for 3 straight civil war warzones i received no defender/attacker points. I did do a bug report on this, but i wonder if they actually test/play their own game?

     

    with the stated four medals I should have had the minimum required to get something, but instead got nothing. another bug report was filed.

     

    I play every warzone to win, but i am failing to see how the current system entices people to come back to try again?

  14. You need to do a bit more research before you start complaining.

     

    BW has stated they are reducing the medals needed to gain Wz credits to 1 <bad idea in my book>

    They are also significantly raising the credits and com's for a loss <good idea in any book>

     

    Feel free to use the search function, the dev tracker, or even read a few posts in the future!

     

     

    they also said they were rolling out rated warzones as well as some other features.. so how did that pan out.. you should do some research as well and look at their track record before you start coming to their defense..

     

    feel free to use the search feature and dev tracker to look at their checkered past of what they say and what they actually do..

  15. as a arsenal merc I agree with you.

     

    I hate when people spam one skill. I try to throw in as much of my other skills while still using the tracer to get the bonus to rail and heatseeker.

     

    I think of commandos with their grav round the same way, I will go out of my way to keep them moving so they cant use the damn thing. I dont get all balled up with hate and anger though, just dislike the fact they think it is a "I win" button.

  16. I would like to ask what is Bioware doing to address the current state of PVP? We rarely see any comment on these forums and when we do its usually a half baked lie.

     

    currently in game.

     

    they reduced the comm/money/valor for finishing a warzone win or lose. Losing hurts more as you can wind up with 0-0-0-0. so no reward there

     

    they reduced our armor stats for pve making it harder, not impossible to do ops and hard modes. This causes more deaths and leads to repair bills. since we make no money pvp'ing anymore this becomes a money sink till we are geared with pve armor.

     

    then you throw in the exploiters and cheaters in the game, we have one guild on our server that encourages its members to download the third party dev tool and use it. It allows you to speed hack as well as adjust other skills and reduce cool down timers on your skills..

     

    People play this game to have fun with friends and make new friends while enjoying the content and pvp.

     

    pvp in not really working out on the enjoyment end and pve is a money sink. so whats left?

     

    I would like to know if Bioware is actually trying to address these and many other issues? if not then I will take my money else and try a different game. I have been holding out hope that they would address them but they havent yet.

     

    I know this will not be replied to by any member of Bioware nor its customer support team, so I will just say this is a vent of the current game and leave it at that.

  17. You still get commendations and valor so you'll eventually get more gear. Not much anyone can do about the imp/rep ratio on the server though.

     

    not unless you get 3 medals which in some cases you are unable to do if they camp the spawn point after securing all 3 turrets. I dont have this issue on my server as republic out number the imperials but not by much.

     

    Our only issue is one republic guild who encourages its member to exploit and cheat at all times.. So we just keep reporting them over and over..

     

    but I do agree the timer keeps things even.. it should never have been taken out.

  18. Yes.

     

    Chance was not changed. it's 25% chance to get a BM Commendation from a BM Bag.

     

    32 BM bags and one token. very frustrating system for anyone who pvp's..

     

    they need to allow us to trade our champ tokens for BM tokens, also change it so we dont get champ bags on the weekly, give us a choice to get 3 BM bags or 3 champ bags. I dont need centurion tokens anymore.
