John Williams is amazing. Always loved logging into SWG to this music:

To be completely honest - I've done a search function. There is about 1 or 2 threads about this - so I guess that means that I stand corrected.
However, these issues are very insignificant, and are only affecting those who were to impatient to sit through a 15 minute queue at launch time. Also, this seems to be more of a faction imbalance issue - not a Server Population issue.
There is a difference.
You need to learn how to use the search function. I stopped count at 10 threads with the words "server merge" in the title.
Before you say it, because I know you want to.....I cancelled/unsubbed over 2 weeks ago, not sure why I can still post.
-
This game isn't going anywhere - also, note how there is 0 talk of Server Mergers. No on is even asking for them, nor will they within any notable time frame.
That game is being bought up by more and more people each day - and there will be several waves of new players. We haven't even begun to see the beginning of the sustained population of players that will be participating in this game over a general length of time.
I assure you - this game will be fully operational (and populated) several years from now, maintaining the same subscription based model it has today.
You need to learn to use the search function, there have been numerous Server Merge threads.

The stress test is tomorrow (Saturday) starting at 3pm EST on TC.

Bioware has created an incredible world PvP scene, it's revolutionary to be honest. It's no wonder the best PvPers are coming to this game! I can't wait until I'm lvl 50!
-
Nothing could make me resub. The whole design of the game is too dumbed down and linear. I really wanted to like this game, I came into it blind with no research. Some would say that's my own fault, well, I don't care about the 60 bucks.....I was so let down and shocked at how simplified they made this game that I cannot even continue on.
-
I'm finding it very difficult to come to the forums to discuss the game I paid for and am greatly enjoying because... well, just take a look. It's ridiculous. It would be lovely if all these ultra-unhappy customers were locked out of the forum and couldn't complain 24/7, leaving me to be able to discuss the game with other like-minded people who enjoy it enough to subscribe.
You aren't able to have a discussion about the game with like-minded people?
-
They do have a lifetime subscription. Click the 6 month plan, that is as long as this game will be Pay to Play.

My sub is expired, and I can still post?

Wow. Talk about twisting his words and taking them out of any context at all.
This is an MMO, and he did not compare TOR to a FPS.
He should have compared this to a MMO, it's a closer match to a FPS than an actual MMO.

The launch is over for SWToR, who gives a **** about how smooth it went? Fact is, other games that had a rocky launch were still more fun to play.
-
The quick and dirty:
1. Ridiculously low number of classes/professions
2. WoW clone, only more simplified and dumbed down
3. Crafting is a joke
4. Guild tools are a joke
5. Doesn't feel like a MMO
There is no constructive criticism from me towards this game. The design is not what I'm looking for, it cannot be fixed, this game is a step back in the MMO evolution.
-
lol, made my morning
-
actually, it is your problem. If bioware doesn't implement exactly what you want and you have a problem with it, guess what? That is YOUR problem.
Actually it IS BW's problem. They have done everything a company can possibly do to inhibit community in this game.
-
How can they innovate when players jump on every game released and demand that ReCount, damage meters, rated arenas and all the other WoWisms be included?
It's a good point, developers and designers just need to make a stand. Although I've played WoW for a long time, I consider it to be detrimental to the development of MMOs that I would really like to see

Not resubbing, last day is today for me....although I haven't spent more than 30 minutes online in the past week.
Reasons:
1. Stuck on the ride, can't deviate from the themepark. Wish there was more sandbox, less focus on story.
2. Crafting is a joke
3. PvP servers are a joke
4. The entire design of this game is not what I'm looking for in a MMO.

/facepalm
What is linked, and what is stickied is NOT a solution.

Look at the time of day... most people are at work or school. Check Tatooine's population at 8pm tonight, I bet it'll be more than "8".
I think had WoW showed you their real numbers, you'd be "shocked" at how low their population is during the day in some of the mid-level zones too.
Comparing certain aspects of a brand new game to a game that has a mature (time/level wise) playerbase makes you look like you don't have any critical thinking skills. You really want to compare a 1 month old game's low/mid zone populations to a 7 year old game? Seriously?

Unsubbed, uninstalled. I didn't beta test or read any reviews, didn't watch any Youtube videos, didn't expect to fall in love with it. What surprised me though is that even though I had lower expectations, this game fell even below what I thought it would be.
Won't be able to post soon, no biggie though. I won't go out in m3atsp1n fashion like so many SWG Pre-CU vets did lol.
EDIT: Wow, me3tsp1n is censored. Didn't expect that either haha.

All I got out of the OP was "waaaaaaaahhhh"

I never understood the big deal over dying to a player a few times. Dying to NPC's countless times = ok, dying 3-5 times from a player = end of enjoyment?

SWG was a special game, gave me the best memories I've ever had in a video game, and created some friendships that are now going on 8 years.
I stumbled across this website that has some stories of personal experiences and feelings of the game, and I could not stop reading until there was no more to read.
http://gemtrix.com/2011/10/swg-from-beta-to-blunder-1-2/
I shared many of the feelings written in the diary linked above, and unfortunately (for me) those kind of experiences and joy will never be felt in this game.
I've never been sucked into a game as much as SWG, might never happen again. Although ToR isn't a bad game, it just doesn't have the elements to keep me interested. I'm having the exact same feelings playing this game as I had playing the single player KOTOR and KOTOR2.

MMO genre has gone backwards. Most these so called mmo's are nothing more than console style rpgs now. Everything that made a true mmo is removed compared to older games. WOW killed mmo's and everyone is trying to copy them instead of going back to better style gaming.
Target the kiddies and they think they will have a top game.
Sad but true. Perfect balance, "queuing", blah blah blah. Give me SWG, UO, EQ again.

Is that the same KDS guild from Europe-Chimaera in SWG? They used to wreck people back in the day. Good memories.
I un-subbed but why can I still post?
