[Problem I'm having with Ch. XV]

I'm trying to run my agent thru it, but when I get to the mission titled "survive the skytrooper ambush" my scorpio disappears! My agent is pretty decent, but I cannot beat the ship defense droid, and the skytroopers, without a companion. Has this happened to anyone else, anyone got any suggestions?
