  1. Could personnal conquest rewards offer something in a form of less potent Commander's compendium instead of the gifts? Like name it Commander's report and have it instantly increase a companions rank by 5-10 levels per use.

I have a long standing belief that companion leveling should be more streamlined.

  2. Got my Nautolan warrior to Dark side 1 today and when I tried to enable -show dark side corruption" checkbox in his appearance menu it lit up as enabled but the change didn't take. When checked again, I discovered the button automaticaly switches itself off when you leave the costume window.

The primary look works as intended but dark side corruption enabler didn't work on both costume 1 and 2 slot. It always resets itself regardless of what I do.

  3. Such a snotty brat...

Offered Peace and be nice to her but she was so aggressive.

swtor should just give us to choice to run a sith lightsaber through her snotty nose right there and then.

    Make it happen pls!

Only if we get her hairstyle as a reward. The knott bounces!

  4. It's a good idea, especially given how important the "cosmetic" aspects of this game are. However, a customization (normal *or* "advanced") that changes Lana's hair colour is a lore-conflict problem - she is canonically(1) blonde, as noted in KotFE Chapter VIII. (Len isn't the brightest bulb on the chandelier, but he's not the sort to call a red-head "Blondie"(2).)

    (1) Whatever that means in the context of a game that's classed as "Legends" in the realm of Star Wars continuity management... ;)

    (2) I believe this is the only reference in the game to a companion's hair colour.

that's just nitpicking my man, but I do like your attention to these things.

  5. I couldn't sleep so I ended up thinking about companions and Charles Boyd's agreement from one of the dev streams that companions do REALLY lack new content.

While I was thinking about what kind of cool new variations could the companions get (like black hair Lana, Red head Lana) I suddently started to wonder what it would look like if the swtor team released a platinum tier companion customisation.

I'm also curious about your takes on what should be involved in a PLATINUM grade companion customisation.

    Here's what I think:

While I mostly want new looks for Lana, Arcann, Senya, Koth and Theron I actualy want the first series of platinum customisations to focus on vanilla and returning companions like Jaesa, Kira and Vette.

These platinum customisations would be total body conversion, just like the kotfe skins for Lana, Koth and Senya.

Meaning that equiping one on Jaesa would give her a single model with insane level of detail and unique costume, but disabling gear slots in the process. Kinda like how Bioware handles skins in other games.

  6. Are you saying that you want jewelry options for species that are not PB Sith, Rattataki, Togruta and (in 6.0) Nautolans?

It's not a bad idea, although messing with the appearance sliders is liable to be a bit hairy - there are some really, really weird misbehaviours hiding in there. Example: go to the Appearance Designer kiosk and watch the order of the *numbers* (not the looks, but their numbers) for human female hairstyles.

(Each of those species has jewelry that is (roughly speaking) appropriate for it - Togruta jewelry in particular would be inappropriate for any other species.)

Unified pieces, as in, select few that can work on all supported races, perhaps some new ones too.

  7. When a narrator does an audio book, they often take great pains to ensure that their voice is conveying the correct tone of the book, as well as correctly identifying a character. My family and I are listening to Jim Dale narrate the Harry Potter audiobooks. He apparently asked for playbacks of previous books just to make sure he was doing the voice correctly each new novel. It’s one thing to read lines but I imagine voice actors put a lot of thought and effort into their performance. When I heard those samples, it was almost as if a different person was speaking in my minds eye.

I’m just saying that I could imagine someone wanting to have a say over that. Imagine if RDJ heard something like the samples presented when he heard himself inside the Iron Man suit?

Many variables man, I don't know where to start. Some voice actors just can't have that say, some don't want to or they don't care and some are contractualy disabled from doing so and they have to abide by the decision if they've signed the contract. The voice acting world is actualy highly competitive. If one actor refuses to be open to modulation, then the next one will be and he gets the part. Voice actors in general are not very picky because there are always 10 more behind them, ready to do thier part and funnily enought, even in the same voice.

  8. Having something as simple as a pitch slider would be great and fairly easy to implement (in comparison to recording new dialogue), a lot of other games have this option.

Being able to choose a modulation effect would be great also, one of my BH helmets has AWESOME modulation but aesthetically isn't as great as some other options I have. If I could take that modulation effect and somehow transplant it onto the other appearance...

    Now that's podracing.

That would be neat, bet they could add it in as a "tuning" slot for helmets, but don't even dream about it. I don't expect anyone from thier side to care about this pitch slider idea either. All they see is more work and that is (understandably) offputing

  9. Oops, yeah you're right. :o Misinterpreted...

Don't worry, It got me thinking aswel, but then I remembered that they always specificaly mention collection unlocks when its that kind of a sale.

And dammit guys, I was ready to wait for that but I took the bait and got me that nice tattoine flair haha

  10. I could see issues with VA contracts if there is an alteration like this to their recording. This isn't the same type of modulation as with a helmet or transmission, its a fundamental alteration to the original pitch and tone of the original sound generated by the VA. Its expected if the VA is recording for "Alvin and the Chipmunks," but not necessarily for something like this.

Its an interesting idea though, and certainly a lot less work and money than recording multiple voices per gender per class.

Would you hire a voice actor that says, you can only use my pure sample? No voice ever goes into the game without some sound tweaking.

Oh and, remember Mordin Solus from Mass Effect 2? His voice was pitched up for the game

  11. So we have to download N copies of each player voice?

Since as I have previously mentioned, it will work the same way as helmet voice changers and holo talk effects/modulators, it will not alter the recorded voice liness in anyway that would require a change in file sizes, its only an effect that stacks on top of the sound, altering it.

  12. Not what I asked. Let me try again. Can the frequency-shift calculations be done fast enough to keep up as the sound plays? Does it take more or less than ten seconds to calculate the frequency shift for ten seconds of audio? As I said, I expect that they can, but I want you to confirm or deny it.

There won't be any calculations, the chosen frequency for the desired pitch/voice preset will be locked into each preset. The modulation would be then always ON and the voice change effect is instant, there is no preloading, precalculating and no delay, once the modulation is on the effect works instantly, because its a modulation/effect by nature. It's just the sound designer applying alittle squeeze on the throat
