  1. I welcome the changes. They've been a long time coming.

Most of the complaining I've been seeing in game has been from players too lazy to read the patch notes, or simply can't handle change. I would venture to guess that there are some players who've already had one foot out the door and needed to move on, anyway. More power to them. As for me, I look forward to enjoying the game I still love.

  2. I honestly feel that until BW gives us an actual useful in-game resource for recruiting/looking for guilds, we're going to keep seeing people recruiting in general. Even a Guild Recruitment channel would be nice.

Just because a guild advertises in general does not mean they allow anyone in or want to be a zerg guild. We point people to our website, where they can get more info about what kind of guild we are and what we look for in members. We are selective. We want players to know we're recruiting, but at the same time we're not a zerg guild that invites anyone who comes along.

We also keep our ads to a bare minimum. I post in general maybe once an hour when I'm on and only on Fleet.

  3. Thanks for the replies.

We do have other people we play with, we just like having a separate bank space for personal use between us.

We wanted to get one created before the banking system came in place (can't believe the game didn't start with one), and didn't want to waste the 5k, if it would disband when the other 2 left.

  4. I haven't been able to find an answer anywhere on the site about this. My husband and I usually keep a guild exclusively for our char's so that we can share a bank, as we mostly play together or solo.

I know you need 4 people to create a guild, however can you just have a 2 account guild?

  5. I'm a female. I'm really surprised that female gamers still feel the need to hide their gender because of bias. I thought we were beyond that. Although, I do remember back in the day when a lot guilds wouldn't accept female players at all, and there was a lot of gender discrimination. Maye because I actively seek out players and guilds who don't support this type of atmosphere I don't see it.

Ladies, keep playing. And while I agree that a person's gender should have no influence on how they're treated in game, I know that real life isn't fair, you still have to pick those you associate with.

Side note: I've seen the female players who take advantage of the fact that they are female in game and it makes the rest of us look bad. But there are just as many d-bag guys in game doing the same thing.

  6. Many of us - who are role players - don't believe in RP in general chat. It doesn't make sense to have this constant mind link with every other person on the planet.

For most role players, RP is done in say and emotes, with people in your immediate vicinity who could actually hear you and interact with you. Role play is, after all, done through your avatar, interacting with the world as your character, not the player putting on a show in general chat. There are a few who disagree or who do things differently, and that's fine. The point is, general chat is not the place to look for RP.

And to the OP, people who join RP servers for the more mature atmosphere are perfectly welcome in my opinion. Whether they actively role play or not, they provide the population density needed to have a lively community, a working economy, and enough PvE and PvP action to keep the game playable as a game, even while role playing.

Also, many general-purpose guilds have a variety of members, including people who want a lot of RP and people who don't care much, but they want to play with their guild. These guilds are a staple of a strong lively server community.

Most do not disrupt RP and enjoy having RP and RPers around for atmosphere and added immersion.

    This.

We rolled as a guild on an RP server because we do have some members who RP. Some don't. However, we have a strict guild policy that all of our members adhere to regarding being respectful of the RP community.
