  1. its because of important development things such as inheritance gear as to why we don't have ranked wz's or server transfers.....

Such groundbreaking development must come first and does take great time and care.

I have to disagree. the a fore mentioned gear took little or no time to make or implement. It's in fact scrap code or filler if you like the time it took to make it did not didn;t take anything away from WZ's and the like.

  2. I have yet to see any Jinn defenders here (makes sense), soooo I'll say it again. Worst. Jedi. Ever. Almost pointless, boring character.

His dueling skills as a Master were also apparently sub par. He was cut down by an apprentice. Yes the apprentice of Sidious, & a Darth, but an apprentice nonetheless.

His only redeeming quality for me is that he appeared to be a Grey Jedi who trolled the council.

An apprentice only in the fact that he was subservient to Sidious not in ability or training.

  3. I really doubt there is going to be restrictions on where you can go if their is paid transfers. By the way, don't get your hopes up about world PVP. I have been on a PVP server since release, and the chances of engaging in world PVP is very slim to none. The pub/imp bases and quest way points are too segregated on planets. Only the recent plague event brought to life some faction battles. There really is no difference in PVP and PVE servers at the moment.

    so very true

  4. TL;DR - Bioware messed up big time. Can they fix it ?

The forums are heaving with negativity and doomsayers, stating that the game is facing imminent destruction and will eventually sink. And there is some truth to it. The sooner Bioware heeds this, the quicker it can recover, it isn't too late.

    ...

same with forums about any game, people that are happy do not come to forums to ***** about the game

  5. Fun fact nr 4: McDonalds once lost a lawsuit because a customer complained their coffee was served hot.

(ok ok, to be honest: it was because it was too hot and spilling it on his legs while driving his car burned his skin through his pants)

It was an older lady and the coffee was 180 degrees. resulting in 3rd degree burns. the cause was the coffee maker had a malfunction.

  6. I am tired of seeing the same argument. "Game XYZ had bugs too, their servers were down for 3 whole days!". "Such and such had a bug where you couldn't alt tab without crashing". yadda yadda....

Your right, tons of other MMOs had bugs. And tons of other MMOs failed because of those bugs.

Sever MMO's had bugs, but small MINOR bugs like a graphical error here, or the wrong text there. Most bugs were corrected within a week of being found. Let's check on star wars' bugs.

There is still over 50 bugs that I reported IN BETA that are still around today. That's a lot.

Every patch, something else breaks not even relating to the patch notes.

Soa is still buggy. The VERY FIRST operations end boss.. How is that even possible?

Tons of quests either failing to update, or not letting me talk to whom I need to talk to, forcing me to reset is still an issue, most of them require me to be in a group, which is very rare in this game, but it is still around.

The list could go on for days....

Server status is fine, that was a good job by them, but You have a shiny pair of wheels on a beat up car, and it still looks like crap.Customer Service.. a joke. Player to Developer interaction? Scripted.

So yeah, most MMO's when they launch do have bugs, a small glitch that prevents you from completing one quest, or an issue where an NPC won't trigger an event or something along those lines, Look at the patch notes since launch and see how many bugs have been fixed. Then think about the amount of bugs that have shown up after they fixed bugs that weren't relating to them.

Remember when 1.2 dropped and you couldn't log out of the game? Awesome. Replies.. those are still broken, minor tweaks seem to be made every update, yet nothing is said about it in the patch notes.

Imperial Agent cover system was broke for about 2 weeks after 1.2, and slowly it's been getting better/patched here and there, with no mention of it at all.

So yeah, look at the HUGE list of bug fixes, then realise that is probably a fraction of what has had to be fixed and caused by the company themselves. They cause more bugs than fix in my opinion.

all I get out of this post is no one listens to me no matter how loud my tantrum is.

  7. Since maxing out two 50s and playing a host of alts in SWTOR, I have had the opportunity to play in the GW2 beta and TERA live, and I've also signed up for The Secret World's beta. Planetside 2---F2P---is also due this year, and I have an interest in World of Warplanes. GW2 and TERA are both fun, as I expect the others to be as well when I finally get the chance to play them.

as much as I want secret world to succeed, Funcom needs to have upped their game a hundred fold to make that happen.

En masse not even int he same class as Bioware, I don't doubt Tera will be F2P in no time.

It is, without a doubt, the best year for online gaming in a decade. As consumers, we have tons of great choices. 2012 is shaping up to be a landmark year for triple-A MMOs.

where have you been this last decade?

So what can SWTOR do to keep my dollars? Here's a short list:

    PLAYER CONSOLIDATION

Whatever it takes. Server transfers, server merges, social events that bring people together, world PVP, LFG tools, improving ease of grouping---you need to do anything and everything it takes to get more people playing together.

    FREQUENT WORLD EVENTS

The rakghoul outbreak was good. You need to have something similar in play as much as possible. Players need reasons to leave the space stations.

    IMPROVED PVP

Open world PVP, guild PVP, rewards for PVP, more warzones, anything. We need meaningful PVP that adds to the sense of community & gives goals for groups of people beyond grinding for the next tier of gear.

    IMPROVED ACCESS TO PVE

Make it easy to get a group and get into a flashpoint, operation or heroic mission. Simple as that. You need a UI element that matches players seeking to do similar content, and you need it now.

SWTOR is a good game, but is still building the fundamentals that should have been in the game at release (LFG tool, open world PVP, a robust Legacy system, etc.). The combat is fundamentally enjoyable, but that in and of itself is not enough to keep me playing. The entire game right now seems focused on nothing but grinding out the next tier of gear. Regarding the story, once you've completed a class story 1-50 a couple times, there's very little motivation to do it again, especially given the static & linear nature of questing in the game.

The problem with SWTOR is that, outside of the dialogue wheel and the focus on personal storylines, it took very few risks. It did not try to expand the genre in new directions gameplay-wise. It did its level best, as indicated by the esteemed Doctors themselves, to simply replicate the WoW experience with a Star Wars skin. Don't get me wrong---WoW was a fun game. But it's also an old game, and playing SWTOR in 2012 feels a lot like playing WoW in 2006, or 2007, or 2009. Games that take risks sometimes fall flat, sure. But sometimes they produce something amazing.

I am hoping to be amazed, BioWare. Please---amaze me.

I love Star Wars as an IP, and I want a good reason to keep giving you money.

as for what Bioware needs to do, I agree 100%

  8. I am a level 42 Jedi Knight on Voss, and I can barely level anymore. I've done every quest on every planet I've been on, besides heroics. I have also done very few flashpoints. The reason I can't do any of these group things is because the population on my server is too low. And even if there are a decent amount of people on, nobody ever wants to do a group mission. There have been a few instances where higher leveled people have been kind enough to do a group thing with me, but these occurrences are rare. I can't go to other planets because all that is left on those is heroics. I don't have many dailies, pvp is nearly impossible with the low pop, and I'm doing as many space missions as I can, but I just can't seem to catch up with my mission reqs. I need help desperately but there doesn't seem to be a solution.

have you kept yours and the companion you use the most gear up to date?

  9. I wouldn't mind. I enjoy the game very much, but don't have the time to play it every day. I feel that my money is better spent if I pay only when I have enough time and dedication. I will play the game regardless, of course, but I'd oprefer it was F2P.

you would pay more money in the end.

  10. well PvP works now. not sure how lvl 50 PvP was as I didnt get a toon to 50 until after the 1.2.

But.,No lag in PvP because of cannon fire is a major +. the second a cannon would open fire in civ war I would drop 30 FPS and the game would be unplayable.

  11. I don't understand how I can have a brand new alienware m14x with the most updated drivers for my nvidia 555M Geforce and on max settings during pve witness the most amazingly smooth graphics on max settings and then I queue for pvp. Before 1.2 I had updated my drivers and then downloaded one of the pre 1.2 patches and my warzones were unbelievable smooth and enjoyable. Now, since 1.2 and beyond, despite updating to the most recent driver I get horrible lag and sometimes loose connection altogether during matches and get booted off the server. No fun. Thoughts? Windows 7 64bit 8gb ram

LOL i had horrid issues with the wz's before 1.2 now smooth as silk. but seriously now you bought an alienware,

  12. The question is irrelevant. Real life is very different than the star wars universe. In Star Wars the Jedi have the force. In real life you'll be hard pressed to learn how to wield two swords correctly let alone two lightsabers. "Dual Wielding" swords wasn't very popular.

The question isn't as irrelevant as you think. There are a great many people that can use two swords at the same time. The difficulty increases though when the swords reach a certain length, or so I have been told buy people that have done so. In the 30+ years that I have been practicing the sword I have never tried so I could not tell you how hard it would be from personal experience.

as for "light sabers" Personally I think it would be really weird to try and use one as the blade has no weight and that could create a balance issue.

  13. So, you're shutting the servers down again tonight which I get, you have to fix bugs. How long is it going to be before you add end game cotent, I am a PVP person but you are single handedly ignoring whats right in fron of you. Every patch I hope to see some new FP's HM's and stuff added to keep people interested while I PVP but it seems you just dont care and you're letting your game die right in front of you

    QQ much.

  14. When I was in SWG I put up a similar request and many there recommended the Thrawn Trilogy, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I'm currently reading Darth Plaguis. Other than that, I have not read any other SW books. I'm open to anything. I jusr don't want to make the mistake of finding one out of sequence in a series.

honestly, most of the SW book are poorly written at best.

I would suggest a good series like Jim Butchers, the Dresden Files. If you can help it at all, never read bad books.

  15. first off the game looks 10X better. I was running on lowest settings and the game looked good before but now even on lowest it looks great.

second it runs much better, I used to get around 50 FPS until the cannon started going off in the WZ them 10fps was the average.

so just that make the patch a win for me.

  16. SPecifics about the things you are missing, or this will just be labelled a miserable attempt at a QQ thread in the wrong discussion forum.

As for the "Active subscription required to play the game" element that you are complaining about, the ToS, the blurb on the Origin web site (if you buy one of the electronic versions), or the box (if you buy a physical copy) means exactly that, and it is pretty clear - install, register, activate your sub, and the first 30 days is free. It is not the MMO industry's fault that you do not read the agreements or contracts you enter into.

it's already a miserable attempt at QQ....
