  1. Get more people to come back please. Pubs on this server are in massive need of good players. A lot of the good ones that haven't quit are starting to switch to Imp and I can't blame them.

THIS GUY!!!!!! whats goooood foolio, just came back to the game on imp side. Didn't think there were relics like you still around~

  2. Do you only mention the beta and launch of the game as if it's a valid argument?

"Good game developers want to make their games better; and that means holding some things back until their ready. It's a very common story in this industry. Yet in this case, we still have this huge mountain of content to see while we wait for this feature to come out."

I honestly would of waited even longer for a launch but after they released a P2P BETA, what you said doesn't apply to the genius we call Bioware.

  3. Way to sway your statement to into emphasizing your point. I'm sure all of the pre-orders for Diablo 3 were payed for by gamers only wanting the single player experience. I'm sure the figures could match, or even surpass you're quoted demographic of players who ignore every aspect of SWTOR, (even the existing PvP) except for rated PvP.

Yes, it sucks that this announcement came so late before the patch implementation. But from my perspective, their decision shows they truly care about the state of quality their game is in.

The dev team isn't purposely trying to swindle the small percentage of people who only want to play rated PvP. They've been busting their asses trying get this patch out as soon as they can. They noticed towards the end of testing that the rated PvP wasn't where it could be. God knows they're not going to take any chances on PvP after all the raging about Illum. They knew that this would be a blow to the PvP fans, but they still made the adult decision to not release an inferior product.

My original comment was a statement to tell everyone who's raging to calm down, and stop complaining as if BioWare stole your first-born child.

How was the game at launch? enough said.

  4. < Don't believe in Christ so I could not care more or less about the apostrophe S.

< You think half the community apart from your intelligent self will actually realise the grammar mistakes?.

< Where I come from Shoddy can be spelt as Shawdy, which is the slang spelling of it.

<I look more grown up than half the people in this thread ranting because 1 part of a huge patch is getting delayed for a bit.

< If the majority of the people in this thread go to a different game, say GW 2 when it arrives, and they made the same announcement as BW, their priceless and childish reaction would still remain the same, would it not? Of course it would.

For PvPer's who have been here since early game access, this was it. PvP has been stale since launch and Ilum was an even bigger joke. Glad your content with this company and I hope they continue to acquire your precious gold.

  5. Funny thing is every one of these same people would be raging just as loud if it was released buggy and broken. Along with the ever so predictable "/unsub" campaigns.

Funny thing is this was Biowares last chance to retain their PvP community. If they released it and it was buggy or broken, same out come people would be just as they are now and will just unsub. This was make it or break it and I think they pretty much shattered it. I only stayed for RWZ for PvE is a complete joke and war zones are getting real repetitive with no real competition. If you deny the competitive side of the human condition, you really got nothing to work with in a PvP game.

  6. I don't know many other people who were in my situation but I was exclusively PvP, One of the first bm's before all the ilum and comms change. I have many duplicates of bm gear that I had to strip for mods to mix with champ gear. This process made me extremely poor and all the extra mods I had was taking way too much space in my bank so I had to vendor majority of them (this was long before 1.2 was even announced). Now I don't have the mods and you decide to come out with these changes. I find it discouraging that I had grinded so many pieces of gear to optimize my stats to only find out that majority of it was useless. Come on bioware, don't punish me for making the best optimization for my gear, your itemization was garbage and needed a fix.

If you don't want to anger a large portion of your pvper's, I suggest you simply reset all bm gear to their original mods and stats upgrade. I don't mind the change, its just when you implement it after so long with no compensation for other peoples hard work for optimization, you will lose a lot.

  7. Whenever one faction gains control of the entire planet, space fighters fly and and bomb the crap out of the other sides base. I get this from a stand point of lore and to the genre, but the explosions destroy frame rates and is especially a bigger impact on servers that have population imbalances for majority of time spent is at the base turtles. Just disable the graphics and maybe keep the announcement, that is sufficient enough to know who controls Ilum.

    Thank you.

  8. i'm not happy with many aspects of this overhyped game that does not deliver, but gabe is not the final decision maker. if y'all are going to blame anyone it should be the throne sitters calling the shots and not the guys and gals trying to please their bosses and keep their jobs.

Gabe is lead designer, HE is the one saying yes and no to things. I remember that because HE himself has said that in a interview a long time ago. I don't remember which interview but I explicitly remember him saying that.

  9. This is audio from a podcast asking Gabe a few questions about his thoughts and ideas behind some of direction the design of the game has taken. The disturbing thing is that he is defending the design of the current fails we call Ilum.

    Link : http://torwars.com/2011/11/09/audio-gabe-amatangelo-discusses-ilum-and-open-world-pvp/

Question : In the open world zones, How are you doing population balance, for example Ilum has one faction out numbering the other, is there anything you are doing for balance?

Gabe : "So that is why the mechanic is what it is, we went through a bunch of different mechanics and tested a bunch of different mechanics, it's five capture instead, except you have to keep all five. So if you are a 100 vs a 20, it's like that 20 is going to get in somewhere right, because it's like you have to spread out to keep them all. And so the war effort buff that you get, you get stacks of them that you gradually increases how much you get for killing and how much you get out of warzones, that happens from defending at a place that you have and you can keep stacking it or taking new ones. So if there is a group of 20 vs 100 they are sitting at one and keeping one and all that 100 decide 'Hey they are at the northern assault' so they all start moving there, you guys can move else where so keep it spread out but obviously you want to keep killing players because that's where the valor is coming from."

Wait What.....? I don't understand this mechanic, maybe I have a brain tumor denying me the George Lucas logic but something seems off. If there is only 20 vs a 100 and they are successful at drawing a large portion away, there will be pvp but only a zerg on the 20. So you want that same 20 to go somewhere else to get zerged? Your mechanics seem to miscalculate hurt butts and that 20 will just sit in the base leaving your whole reason for the design to not actually be played.

I do play both sides empire and republic on the same server so I have experience on what the imbalance can do to both factions. Empire camps the republic base and the republic is content with cannon pulls to complete daily's. The only time there is an even fight is, oh wait never. Empire will always have 15+ at center alone circle jerking and average about 35-40 outside the republic base. The repubs average 15 in the entire zone and this is not even considering my server (Fatman) mostly has 2 instances of Ium one always being depopulated. The guns outside the base are always broken and whenever one does work, the empire is competent enough to either stay away from it or swarm it before it even gets 3 ticks off and that is not even considering the few that actually screw up that one chance to shoot by either not knowing what to do or click to much. Besides the fact that open world pvp is a must for a pve, oh wait I mean pvp servers to have an engaging competition between players outside of instanced zones. I know this is from November but we are still playing SWTOR BETA. Gabe you have just saved me a little bit of money for booze and drugs and I thank you.

  10. I vow to dismantle or disrupt every bugged que that my side creates. I will lose that door or let them cap that node, I will throw them the ball and troll to the best of my ability's,

    Ron Paul approves this message.

  11. People need to understand that maybe BW has a 100 plus people on there team. But not all work on bugs or even the same content that you are no happy with. It may only be 10 or so people that work on illum PVP. I have been on the Dev side of things. Bugs are not as easy as you think to copy. I am shocked to see how mad people are here about a little bug. The game has only been out 2 months .. People act like the game as been out for years and stuff is not getting done. I was and still a part of iracing.com mmo. Their is stuff in that game that took 3 years for them to fix. People need to just stop being so ADD and just chill. maybe smoke one and clam down.

How much money was pumped into this game? How much money did they get at launch? how much money can they spend on man power? Bioware step up your services you have the money!
