I won't manage to get the belt either, which kinda sucks. Not that I could do anything with that light armor at this point, being an agent (I don't even have a companion using light armor).
But I still hope they find a solution for soical gear in the future, although I'm not sure if it's right to add a mechanic that allows turning stuff like the slave outfit into heavy armor, for example …
-
… which is repeatable obviously.Gunslinger's or Deadeye's Prototype Jacket are rewards for H2+ Republic's Most Wanted on Coruscant. -
I'm pretty sure leggings are a quest reward on Taris, basically the whole set is – including headgear – if I'm not toally mistaken. Does anyone remember which quest exactly gave the jacket?
-
Yeah, but I don't think it was a heroic, was it? So I guess I'm out of luck ... Although I could try to get a Sniper Elite Jacket which seems to be a craftable and look similar. Not that it's really worth the trouble, it doesn't look THAT great but would have been a nice change since I've been wearing the same outfit since lvl 20 or so.
I wasn't very lucky with Flashpoints drops and skipped most "bonus series" – except Balmorra and Taris I think – to avoid outleveling content. So my wardrobe is rather limited.
Does anyone remember if any of the bonus missions on the planets that I left out give any nice armors?
-
I remember one of the last quests on Taris letting me chose between Marksman Elite Prototype Jacket and Sniper Elite Prototype Jacket as a reward. I picked the Marksman version due to having more cunning, but it doesn't quite match my Sniper set which is lighter.
Call me crazy, but it's been bugging me ever since, so question is: does anyone remember which quest that was and is it repeatable (heroic)?
Or is there any other matching white chestpiece available soonish? (I just arrived on Hoth)

They usually provide around a full level of XP (with the additional quests that you pick up from the quest hubs), so are nice for those stages when you are a little behind your next planet.
I'm on my third char right now and each time after Alderaan and Taris (Imperial) I'm a level behind the next planet's level bracket.
How to people manage to fall BEHIND levels anyway? Do nothing but the class quest?
-
I guess not, but what are you waiting for anyways? Until someone else grabbed the name you wanted? You can choose not to display it after all.
-
I stopped doing them after Balmorra since I started to severely outlevel the content. I'm now on Taris, my level is 35 and quests are level 33. But until now I did most Heroics, all Flashpoints and a bit of PVP. It's a bit sad since I would prefer to see everything, but I don't like supereasy mode either. Also I find most rewards are rather useless if they are 5 levels below yours (also from commendations). So I decided to skip some missions and get the nice stuff instead ;-)
Only problem is that I probably missed some orange rewards :-(

I got one schematic for an orange (fully moddable) sith robe and was only around skill level 40 or so. Too bad it's synthweaving and I got amormech :-(
The mission was for a gift, but as people said it's probably random. I'll be keeping the schematic in my bank for now, since I have no idea what's it worth. And I might pick up synthweaving with an alt at some point …

Artifice makes armor mods too?

Well, I'm just level 18 but … the problem I'm having with the cover bar (apart from that very annoying mentioned bug) is that I can't quite determine skills that are NOT useful while in cover, so I can't decide which skills to switch with my cover-only skills.
For example the melee skills (especially the stun) and other instants CAN be useful if you get someone in your face. The only ability I can think of is the actual "take cover" and I got that on my middle mouse button. So what's the point?

go to:
C:\Users\YOU\AppData\Local\SWTOR\betatest\settings \clientsettings.ini
edit these to your content (I use notepad++):
Height = 1080
Width = 1920
D3DFullScreen = true
PlantDensity = 150
Height = 1080
NativeHeight = 1080
NativeWidth = 1920
Width = 1920
WindowX = 0
WindowY = 0
DynamicLightsLimit = 2
MeshLODQuality = 1
TextureAnisotropy = 8 (or whatever you like, 2, 4, 8, 16)
FarClipScale = 4
VerticalSyncState = true
doShadows = true
UseMinSpecShaders = false
EnableBloom = true
FullScreen = true
TextureQuality = 0
AllowDepthOfField = true
GammaRamp = 1.037854
SpeedTreeDistanceScale = 1.25
AntiAliasingLevel = 4 (or whatever you like, 2, 4, 8, 16)
DebugAdvEnviroLighting = true
save when finished and enjoy
Remove yellow
Has anyone tried changing "TextureQuality = 0" to 1 or something?

I got the feeling there are better textures out there, there's just something not working as intended. Maybe the lowres textures are a bug, known issue still being worked on or something just some players are experiencing.
Someone mentioned setting it to low, exiting, then setting it to high and restarting would fix it. I also had a problem with other preferences settings not being saved after restart (cover quickbar).
I do have the lowres issue and sometimes textures even don't load at all (had a pitchblack Satele earlier). So I'm sure there's just something wrong there and let's hope it will be fixed soonish – either way an official statement concerning this (including AA, AF, etc) would be nice.
So before people are get all heated up: it might be that the other person isn't seeing the game as you are, so consider this being the reason he has a different opinion about the visual quality of the game.
