  1. The lowest orange armor that you can buy is on Tantooine. I believe you have to be level 24. It costs 11.4k. You can buy the Trooper autocannon there as wel for 11.4kl, but you must be 28.

If you know another place that takes cash and not commendations please let me know.

  2. I switched between Jorgun and Dorne. However, at around level 46 I saw I liked the extra damage that Jorgun could do. I am a commando gunner and my heals are adequate enough to keep him alive. The combined DPS just makes him and I a walking death team. Lately I have been upgrading 4x in an attempt to use him. I dont do much with Yunn or Tanno Vick.
  3. That's your problem, you only REed 50 blues. Try to RE 300 and you have a good chance to get a purple.

ok sarcasm behind, the RNG on learning something new is pathetic. I am a Cybortech Trooper. So I was makig AIM armoring, AIM Mods and Commando friendly earpieces. Here are my results on REig:

    Reflex Armoring 22

From green to Blue - 113 REs

From Blue to Purple - 17 REs

    Reflex Mod 22

From Green to Blue - 96 REs

From Blue to Purple - 326 REs

And I Still cannot find the Purple Endowment Earpiece - 456 REs.

Ok I have been 50 for 3 weeks now, and I already upgraded most of purple Armoring and modes, got Rakata implants from dailies and days away from Rakata earpiece. So all of the time and money I spent on REing things is vaisted. Well not entierly Having 124 earpice and armor helped the first 3 days for HModes and the first Operation.

Right now I am just outfitting my Alts, for even guildies do not need any of the level 49 Purples I can make. I think I made 5 Armorings for one guildie and this is it.

Think of a Craft Skill other then BioChem as an expensive hobby and not something to help you progress.

Most of the skills right now seem great solely for leveling. Cybertech makes good ship upgrades and good ear pieces at level 50. We also get the reusable gernades. Unfortunately, we dont get to make any really good level 50 armor, armor mods, etc. The only thing you should RE to the puprles for are the ear peices. The rest is up to you, but with how fast you can level a purple may not be worth the time.

  4. Here's one trick. Harvest your materials by day, and queue up sets of five blues at night. Five blue items will craft while you sleep, reducing your crew's downtime considerably.

Or make multiple characters and have an army of crafter so you can take care of all your needs. This can be a major pain, but I have fun leveling the differnt characters with the different specializations. Once you get to level 25 you have 3 characters and they can do alot of crafting.

  6. To be honest, I wish my missions (Investigation and Diplomacy) provided me with gift tokens. It feels like the majority of what I get is Cultural Relics and Republic Memorabilia. As an Imperial Agent, those are beyond useless to me.

Those items are still useful to you. Republic companion who take memorabillia take them all. Save them for a companion that can take them. Same thing is true for the culture relics.

  7. I apologize for only reading the first page before replying. That said, assuming you're serious I will offer this input. I too was feeling abit discouraged with my commando during the 20's. I have taken the gunnery tree and found myself feeling particularly squishy. I made a few changes, gained some levels and the problem has more or less sorted itself out. Few suggestions, and I may be giving bad advice here.

    1. When choosing gear, if you solo then don't always go for the obvious dps increase. You need hp and since you don't have a shield generator having defensive secondary bonuses in your gear is an asset.

    2. Aric is a great companion, and geared correctly a dps boost, however I at least found Elara a more effective. She keeps me alive better then Aric's dps did and her shots actually aren't bad dps.

    3. Take the talent (sorry, drawing a blank on the name) but it increases endurance by alittle and healing received by a lot. You end up with 2% more endurance and a 6% boost to heals received. As you fill in talents taking the 2% boost to heals given and received and from another tree the 3% boost to your endurance I feel will help also, but that's long term.

    4. Have faith, it will get better. Whatever my issue was in the 20's some gear upgrades, some new talents and working with my pet healer and I've gotten very happy with my Commando's performance in his 30's. I believe you will to.

I am going to have to agree with you. In the mid 20s stop using Aric Jorgun and start using Elara Dorne. I went total DPS, I made a cybertech character to upgrade all mods and armor with highest DPS. Elara Dorne is a great healer, and combineed with your Excellent DPS you will have no problems leveling. At the a higher level you can start using Aric Jorgun again and you and him will destroy everything.

  8. If you want to romance her you probably need to fill out Requisition Form B: Notification of Romantic Entanglement for her to even be remotely interested in you,,,,,or something like that :p

Actually you do fill out those forms, so dont laugh. I haved maxed her out and yes, you fill out forms multiple times while dating her.

  9. I'm close to valor rank 60 and I'd have to say that as a full PvP tank-spec vanguard, I have an awesome time playing it. I still haven't managed to get 2.5k hit medals but I pull 8-11 medals every game because the class has that much survivability and steady damage output.

What is a good pvp tank mix? What do you recommend for an upcoming vangaurd?

  10. i was playing mercenary before making vanguard toon, i just assumed that trooper were crying/whining about this non-existent issue. until i tried this abilities myself, all the complaints are true. mortar volley has too much delay, full auto is not that but annoying.

You are dead on right. With them not working correctly it totally messes things up.

  11. They don't really. You need to think of Slicing less as a money maker and more of a special mission slot machine. I have never lost more than 200 credits at Slicing 400, but occasionally I make 3-4k and get a special mission.

Exactly. Think of the total picture. You may lose here and there, but overall it makes good money. I can make 20 to 30k on average just on lock boxes in a night with ease(about 4 hours), and I sell missions that I pick up. Overall I say its profitable.

  12. I have treated Space Combat how it was meant to be when designed, a mini-game. A little break from the real thing.

If you do that you will find it is very enjoyable.

Is it a flight sim? No. Nor should it be.

I think of it like a little arcade game on my ship.

Exactly a good point. I play all the space mission in about an hour. If I need a break I play some of my favorite ones again.

  13. I have a 4 month old, relatively mid range (about $800-900) computer and have had a grand total of ZERO performance issues. I have all settings and view distances on the highest possible with AA forced. Nobody I know in my guild (with a wide range of computers, from new to old) has had any issues at all either.

It seems to me that the performance issues must be being blown out of proportion because the only complaints regarding performance I've heard are people on the forums who seem to be looking for a reason to hate the game anyway.

Like the game alot. I have areas that the game just get super slow for me. The planet Alderan had parts that just played super slow, and made me not like the planet Alderan. I run into the occasional lag elsewhere, and I have one or two of the space missions that play consistnatly way too slow.

  14. Bull crap Ohlen. I've lost track of the numbers of players with extremely high-end machines complaining about exactly the problem described in the article.

So Bioware's stance is simply going to be to deny the issue exists and foist it off on "low-end machines?" My i7 with 12 gigs of RAM and HD6970 would like a word with you, Mr. Ohlen.

My computer wants to join you. I have a good computer like you and should not be having the problems I am.

  15. I'd actually like to see Cybertech get "munitions" mods for guns. Rather than straight up stat adding, have them add procs instead, turning (say) explosive round/darts for Trooper/BH into something that has a chance to AE DoT/Snare when that weapon is equipped.

Of course, since it takes up a slot on the weapon, they lose some stats for the proc in the process, but hey....there are definitely places I'd take the munitions mod over raw power.

that is deffinitely a good idea, but I feel anything to do with weapons should go to armstech.
