  1. They already have NPCs in the game with gear like this, so Im not sure if it'll be that indepth where it will work for everything or if it's just a single piece of gear, ya know?

With the lack of hoods with masks, on players or NPC's, a single piece of gear would be enough for me.:(

  2. So...to turn away from the doom and gloom of F2P being announced, does anyone else notice this on the announcement page? The Sith Inquisitor with HK-51. He's wearing a mask...with his hood up. Could it finally be happening? A hood lower/raise option? :D
  3. You think it's bad for Jedi Knights? Well try being a Sith Warrior or a Sith Inquisitor with it!

First of all, a lot of the helmets in game for them would have worked better as MASKS! Second, without hoods, half the helmets make you look bald. Here's an example.

This is how I wanted my Assassin to look. Dark, shrouded and mysterious. Instead, check out what he's been reduced to.

    I mean, come on Bioware!

  4. Would be hard because of the voice acting but if they had too:

    Sith Torturer::

-Story: A dark "mad/evil scientist" character who focuses on developing powerful and new sith magics. Is shunned by the Sith similar to Lord Spindral (Sith Inquisitor NPC) as being a lunatic and madman.

-Can spec to either use poisons to do damage over time or summon AI mobs to help fight.

    -Advanced Classes:

-Sith Beastmaster: Summons undead corpses, mutated beasts, and Sithspawn to help fight or draw aggro.

    -Weapon: Lightwhip

-Sith Alchemist: Concocts poisons and special toxins to do Damage over time.

    -Weapon: Lightsaber Pike

    Jedi Scientist:

-Story: Anakin-esque story where you play as a sort of outcast in the Jedi Order. You prefer spending your time tinkering with droids and starfighters or pondering scientific dilemnas rather than being a diplomat

-Can spec to either use poisons to do damage over time or summon AI mobs to help fight.

    Advanced Clasees:

Jedi Mechanic: Summons a variety of Droids as NPC'sto help tank and fight.

-Weapon: Electrostaff (yeah you heard me:))

Jedi Philosopher: Focuses on creating elixers and draughts to help buff allies and fight enemies with Damage over time.

    -Weapon: Lightsaber Pike

  5. The lack of warning caused some people to miss the event. I suggest before future events, you drop small hints about what is coming.

For example, here's how you could have done it with the Rakghoul Event. A week or so before it began, you could have announcements that "Republic/Empire satellites were picking up a mysterious unidentified fast moving projectile on a direct collision trajectory with Tatooine. Impact predicted at DD/WW/YYYY". Announcements could be placed on the fleets, on Tatooine itself and on the website. As the time left until the event counted down, you could see things happening in preparation. Soldiers evacuating citizens from the predicted impact zone. Dropships releasing NPC troops to help with the evac effort. Guards locking down the zone. Players could come down and watch but no more information would be given. At the very second the timer hits zero, the object would be seen streaking through the sky and impacting.

The clues could be left intentionally vague so the community would have to put together the pieces. This would also help build cohesion in the community itself. :)

  6. Dang this thread grew fast!

    Yay I own a popular thread!:D

I am very excited for the next space combat "reveal".

I believe Bioware has been working behind the scenes on free roaming space missions ever since they saw the demand for it.

And yes, I can see the armchair devs in these forums complaining already:

    1. No one asked for it.

    2. Why aren't you fixing the bugs?

    3. My guild is bored, we want more operations and we won't use the space combat.

    4. We need more features from SWG, like player cities and cantina dancing.

Err...wouldn't Space Combat be a feature from SWG?

  7. I saw this on Google news and its got me REALLY interested!

    http://www.nowgamer.com/news/1333873/swtor_lead_dev_most_excited_by_incoming_space_features.html

For anyone who hasn't read it, basically SWTOR's "Lead Designer has told NowGamer that "the next iteration of space is the single thing" he's most excited about across all of SWTOR's incoming new features."

The article also mentions how 3D space combat came out on top on the poll Bioware gave a few weeks back out of a list of features we want in the future.

Could this mean 3D space combat is in the future for SWTOR?

  8. I think his name was Tyresius. I would have gone for round 2 because he wasn't bad, but when I woke up he was gone, he left some note about some bounty hunter chasing him and how it would have never worked out anyways, but I was like whatever, got to keep my Priest.

Uh...I think you might want to check up on your sister with this. You know, just saying...

Anyway, did Quinn ever hit any roadblocks when you flirted with him? Like it literally took 20 covos for him to get the message.

    You know, like this-http://www.theminionslayers.com/comics/2012-03-23-clueless_quinn.png

  9. What do you mean, "Dropping Vette off at school?" I WAS RAISED ON THE STREETS, *****. School of hard knocks with a major in grand theft and a minor in petty crime.

Well you do have that...empty headedness to you.

  10. As far as Gears and Space Marine go, you really can't do a Third Person Shooter too many different ways, and Space Marine's combat is actually really different than Gears of War. In Gears you take cover, try to avoid direct LOS from the enemies and only engage in close combat when you need to.

In Space Marine, you want to get into close combat, you actually need to get into close combat in order to be the most effective you can. You don't even get the option to take cover in SM as opposed to GoW where cover is pretty much a necessity. Not to mention if you don't do your combos right, if you don't time everything very well, if you don't kill enough enemies, you won't survive. You don't just get your health back by staying out of combat in SM, you need to kill things to heal. The game play is very different from your average TPS.

    Lets see.

Taken at a very young age? Check

Need to fit a specific physical profile? Check

Need to fit a specific psychological profile? Check

Absolutely brutal training that leaves most candidates disfigured or dead? Check

Genetic and Cybernetic enhancements to make the candidates post human super soldiers? Check

Very few of them (relatively) because not only are they hard to produce but at the most recent point in the timeline the tech is largely unavailable (for various reasons)? Check

One of them is enough to generally change the course of an entire battle? Check

Outfitted with the best arms and armor, some of which is completely unavailable to other branches of the military? Check

I could go on for more if I brought up the respective Wikis, but Bungie wasn't subtle at all with where they got their ideas from.

But we're derailing the crap out of this thread, so we should probably stop.

    Fine but one last comment.

Simply because Halo resembles 40K in the nature of its Super Soldiers does not make them a ripoff. Bungie noticed the Space Marines, and made a version of them for Halo. Advanced super soldiers taken from birth going through deadly training, given the best weapons and armor, and given god like abilities. Calling Halo a ripoff when the stories, characters, events, and enemies are diffenent is invalid.

  11. Seeing as how 40K came out almost twenty years before Gears of War (nineteen to be precise), I'd doubt that.

Also, if you read the creation process of a Space Marine, and what they go through, and then go read the creation process of the SPARTAN project, yea, its pretty blatant.

Sorry I meant Warhammer 40k: Space Marine.

And so? Years of intense physical conditioning followed by either genetic augumentations or cybernetic augumentations. Borrowing aspects from a past franchises and applying it in a later franchise doesn't make it a ripoff. Now if Spartan's were super bulky, had chainsaw weapons, and giant armor, then it would be a different story...but it isn't.

  12. Seems like you're the one who doesn't know the lore... the lore of the EU, in which this game is set.

The movies are not the only lore there is for Star Wars, they're just the highest level of it--and really only pertinent to the time period of the films themselves. 3900 years before the films? Mace having the 'only' purple saber, Jedi not being allowed to marry for love, and Jedi pretty much being restricted to blue or green sabers--NONE of that matters. That's the movies, about the decay and fall of the Jedi Order, because they've been uptight jerks for 1,000 years.

Theres also the whole thing with saber crystals.

Before the Russan Reformation, lightsabers existed in virtually every shade and color. After the Reformation, the majority of crystal sites are destroyed or quarantined, leaving places like Ilum as the only place to get crystals.

Jedi use green and blue sabers, because those are the ones they have access too. This is why sabers of exotic colors are rare and unique because they are either difficult or downright impossible to find. Heck even Windu fits this rule, because he wanted a better crystal (his purple one) and he had to go through tons of hardships to finally get it.

  13. Lord Vitiate has a really good personality once you analyze it. Dark, creepy, mysterious. It's all a really good combination. The fact that there is a lot that is deliberately kept in the dark about him is even better.

I'd put him at a 7.5/10 good but could use some more qualitities that make him les one-dimensional.

Seeing as how Commander Shepard and the whole Mass Effect universe wasn't completely ripped off (and badly at that) from the Warhammer 40K universe like the SPARTAN project was? Yea.

    ...

So just the fact that SPARTAN's and Space Marines are both genetically enhanced supersoldiers that operate as OP SpecOps makes Halo a ripoff?

How can you even say anything is a ripoff of Warhammer 40K when 40k is just a Gears of War ripoff. You can tell right away...

  14. Agreed. Master Chief would get pwned in the face by Kyle Katarn. :D

Well obviously Katarn would be able to. I mean c'mon! :D

Master Chief is a hack and a Space Marine wanabe. He doesn't even enter into the equation.

So Commander Shepard is invincible but Master Chief isn't?

    No.

  15. From your statement it shows that you're either a biodrone or you just do not know enough about GW2. There are plenty of PvE as well as PvP content. Please do a little research before you make such a statement.

Are you serious? 1 guy says that GW2 holds no interest for him and you accuse him of being a Biodrone?

You sound just like a GW2 fanboy. -_-
