  1. im a marauder. i rolled empire because of my friends. maruaders lack robes. we wear tights and capes. they got really old really fast. only 2 orange robes available are the one from BT and the rare one from karaga(not orange but still has mods).

     

    in a hope to open my options i leveled a republic alt with synthweaving because i thought i might be able to make some of the cool robes for myself and mail them over in 1.2. i was able to mail things between my characters but once the ****** robe got to my sith it turned into the empires version. this made me really sad. people can run around in bikinis and silly pilot outfits but im not allowed to wear a jedi's robe as a sith. its pretty lame.

    Battle master gear is for cowards. If you are good at pvp you should be naked or at least in greens. If you win a fight in Battlemaster gear you should feal proud that you are exploiting a broken pvp system.

     

    I want fair fights and always have.

     

    you are playing a TAB TARGET RPG.

     

    doesnt take that long to learn a class. most of you skill comes from what the devs give you and rng.

    It's much harder for melee's in this game but marauders do sick amounts of DPS. Focus is burst base but both watchmen and combat (+there marauder equivelant) trees do a great amount of damage.

     

    You just need to make sure the healer knows about melee DDs needing heals and have a well geared tank.

     

    stealth operatives literally can't keep up now. With anyone. PVE.

     

    yea we do good damage but our carnage tree isnt as good as our other tree (back to the useless op tree thing), i havent even tried rage, and we are melee so its always better to take a range dps over us. a op can atleast go heal spec and be useful if the tree sucks as much as you claim.

    Over nerfing is gonna hurt this game wait and see, I don't plan on playing anymore will use my time left on my sub to post it is more fun than playng my gimp class anyways.

     

    at the moment there isnt really a reason to have other people around.

     

    this is your average tab target game where the only purpose to play is to get gear and show it off to people.

     

    on another note im pretty sure i wont notice a difference in how many people are around me.

  5. are you sure its speed hacking? have you seen it actually happen?

     

    there is a bug a person can get where they can throw the ball to another guy and it automatically scores. not sure how it works but once someone in my group got it.

  6. yea when we bust out 99% damage reduction we lose half our current health. we can be tricky to beat if you dont know whats happening. you have to position yourself right to beat us and probably bust a few cooldowns.

     

    also our leap has no minimum range if you spec for it.

  7. as the guy above said they are fixing the mod thing that i think was the only real problem.

     

    once you get into it you should see its not to bad. im having a lot of fun mixing in columi and rakata stuff with my pvp gear to make a optimal set.

     

    this game has barely been out for a month and its there first mmo. give them a chance to figure things out.

  8. if you think putting a cooldown on the ability would fix it then you have no idea how it works.

     

    learn about the class before you recommend a way to fix it.

     

    they do seem really strong but it doesnt mean they arnt beatable. as its been said you can always interrupt this ability which helps a lot.

  9. why do people care so much about this silly "skill" word. most of your "skill" is given to you by the game when you choose your class.

     

    if anything in this game requires you to pay attention it would be pve atm. i just say this because you dont really need to win pvp to win pvp. you get stuff anyways. if we get to a point were winning matters in pvp then it takes more "skill" just for the fact that you are competing against someone else and there will always be people who play there characters better. the "skill" in pvp comes from the team work. in 1v1 situations you will usually win because of your class. it gets more competitive when working with others.

  10. i agree here. i probably dont care as much as you but i wish they did more with the marauder armor. i love what the sentinel armor looks like minus the 50 pvp set and the helm goggle things.

     

    i really love the robbed armor look.

     

    they should atleast give us some of the early sentinal pvp gear as a option to buy.

     

    on another note i hear they are changing the system. they want to make it so you can pull out the armoring on the pvp gear but can only put it in a armor piece from the same slot.

  11. MMOs were a cult classic prior to WoW anyway. Closest thing to them were RPGs like Zelda or Elder Scrolls which were one-player experience and didn't force you to deal with griefing and drama.

     

    Most gamers do not want a sandbox where everything you do ultimate doesn't matter is a sandcastle will fall down or be kicked over by someone else. They want to be told "go here and do this" X number of times until they get a reward for their "hard work".

     

    it really is sad isnt it. what is the point of having everyone on one server if no one really interacts with each other. its just a giant E-peen fest with people showing off there easy to attain accomplishments. sad part about swtor is that some people have gotten ahead and act like its going to be hard for others to catch up.

    i agree with a lot of what you said (didnt read it all).

     

    i think its hard to implement death penalties though. what makes it tough is balancing the gear and how you get it. you have to balance how much of the work the gear does in a fight.

     

    still my favorite game with full loot is darkfall. its a fps so you cant just sit there and let the gear do all the work. gear is everything but you have to have the balls to use it and the skill to keep it.

     

    EDIT: why does it when people use other games' features as example/model for how they like something people feel the need to post about something from the game they didnt like. as if it would also be added with it said feature was added or it couldnt be changed. its so ignorant.

  13. Can't say that I disagree. I played SWG since launch, and the vast exploration options are what kept me playing till the servers were closing down. Although swTOR has a vast universe to explore as well, you're still confined to alot of things, and as you said you'll only visit the planets during the leveling.

     

    There's the bonus series and class quests that often take you back to several planets, but it's only for short trips, and in my oppinion this is a bit lacking.

    There's probably alot of things they could have salvaged from SWG, beast handling pops to mind here, but this is swTOR and we'll have to make due with what we have at the moment.

     

    thats why i threw on the 2.0. swg is about 10 years old. they can do a lot more with games these days and im sure they could have done a lot more with this game if they had gone another direction with it.

    dont get me wrong, i like the story and i find the game play fun but i feel like im playing a rpg with other people there to steal my mobs.

     

    star wars mmo's really need to be more sand boxy then theme parky in my opinion. its such a amazing universe. what the point of making these amazing worlds if most people are going to use it once and leave.

     

    in mmos you become heroic by proving yourself to the players not the game. thats the point of having everyone stuck on a server.

     

    i just wanted to post this because i really feel sad inside when i explore a planet and know that people will never fight over its land. it just feels like such a waist. maybe i play to much darkfall

     

    what makes things worse is the place you are suppose to fight over is just farmed for gear and no one attacks each other.

     

    sorry, havnt followed the forums in a while. was wondering what others opinion on this was.
