  1. Hey all, sorry if this information is easily available as I searched around with no luck. Is 75% the cap for surge is it lower? I've been told the rating cap is 258 but I can't find anything to back that up.
  2. Hey All,

I'm new to the IA and Engineering so I'm sorry for my inexperienced questions. Before I start plugging in numbers I just want to clarify a few things. All in all I'm not sure if there's a key difference between the pattern priority and the priority list.

    In terms of a priority/pattern

    Thanks all!

  3. Hello Tanking Community,

I've been playing around more with my juggernaut and I'm having issues with holding threat at the beginning of a fight. After the first 15 seconds or so everything is fine over time, but as we got more dps with high burst dps it can become tricky for me. I looked around on the forum and everything I can find is older than what I would like. What seems to work for you all? My stats and rotation priority are as following:

    30% DEF - 50/50 Shield/Absorb - 27.5k health - 1600 strength

Engaging - Saber Throw - Leap

Initial Rotation - Backhand > Smash > Sundering Assault > Crushing Blow

Priority - Retaliation > Force Screen > Ravage > Force Choke

Enrage on CD and Vicious Slash when I have too much rage

Any pointers or does anyone have something better that works for them?

  4. All,

I'm finalizing on my sin tank after getting him setup with perfect mitigation, now I'm just looking for clarifications on what everyone else is using for a priority system as I see a lot of conflicting opinions and I'm looking for a general consensus.

This is what I've been testing and looking for opinions from those who have more experience:

    Starting a fight: Force Pull

    Initial Setup: Shock, Wither, Discharge

General Priority: Force Lightning x3 Harnessed Darkness, Wither > Discharge > Shock, Thrash when above 70%ish force, execute, etc..

There's a couple of conflicting opinions I see floating around that I'm looking to get clarified.

    1. Does force pull indeed generate enough threat on the start of the fight to be worth it?

    2. After the fight is initialized, is using shock regardless of the crit buff worth it just to manage to pull off a faster force lighting?

    Any other tips are welcomed.

  5. First off, I'll assuage your worries concerning not having enough Endurance if you go for a lot of mitigation: you'll get all of the hp you *need* naturally, just improving your gear. By "need" I refer to ~25k for 8m and 26-27k for 16m. Anything more than those numbers for the relevant group size is redundant and just exists as either epeen or a "don't freak out" cushion for your healers (good healers won't freak out when you drop to 5k hp because they'll realize you just took a big hit and it's not an "omg, tank is gonna die!" moment).

Secondly, the basic goal numbers for a Shadow tank in aug'd BH/Camp gear is 30/65/60. Those numbers go up slightly depending on your choice of relics (passive Defense relic is gonna push your defense up a percentage point or two) and a bit more when you hit DG/Hazmat tier (my tank stats, without using any passive relics, are ~31.5/67/62).

Quick question, when you mentioned the basic shield chance of 65%, is this with or without Dark Ward?

  7. Hello,

I've been pouring through some of the pages here and I'm a little confused on Assassin tank stat goals as I see many different opinions spanning between last year and the year before.

Should Sin tanks be looking at 25% Defense, 65% Shield, and 60% Absorb? I've seen others mention that 30% Defense is the way but I'm not too sure. I've seen other posts stating that you'll lose too much endurance if you aim for 65% shield and 60% absorb but I'm a believer of mitigation over an endurance cushion.

    Can anyone light my path?

    Caedes
