  1. Since I have eight developed characters, this will be a rough one...

    Here we go...

Darth Snarkus (Sorcerer) - John Simm

Darth Senilitus (Juggernaut) - Sean Connery

Cannonball (Mercenary) - Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Twin (Operative) - Neil and/or Adrian Rayment (modeled him after them)

    Dionaea (Shadow) - Jennifer Connelly

    Tarma (Sentinel) - Summer Glau

Gowron (Vanguard) - Robert O'Reilly (again, modeled after him)

Bellestarr (Gunslinger) - Michelle Rodriguez (she may even live through a movie)

  2. Yes I do. I knew there would be a bit of a holding pattern as features developed, so I've been working on my alts (approaching my 4th level 50) in order to unlock as much of the legacy as I can. Soon I'll be playing Republic toons in orders to unlock those as well. There's still some fine-tuning to be done to my main, Denova's been a good raid, and with 1.3 coming, it'll be much easier to find groups. I'm anxiously awaiting server mergers to bring some new life to the game. But I plan to be here for the long haul.
  3. *chuckles* It always cracks me up when the spoiled children chime in about only having three raids and go back to WoW... where they will endlessly repeat the most recent three raids.

Personally, I played EverQuest back when it first started. That's a game that will teach you to enjoy the ride, not the end. I'm also enjoying leveling my fourth Empire toon, and seeing how much their different stories play off each other in subtle ways. After this, I'm leveling four Republic toons to finish building my Legacy and to try each derivation of the Advanced Classes.

My love is the storyline, and I think that's why I've been enjoying the game more than others. It's a lot more immersive if you let yourself get caught up in your character, their story... it's like living inside one of the Star Wars books.

Don't get me wrong. I am in an aggressive raiding guild, running heroic modes every week. I enjoy that as well, but if you're playing Spacebar Hero all the time, and get to the end too fast, it's entirely your fault.

  4. When it comes to picking a class, remember, if you're running the Flavor Of The Month, you'll end up on the bottom again at some point. Also, for every whiner on the forums, there's a few dozen people actually playing the class and enjoying themselves. Just play what you want.
  5. Don't listen to the forum whiners, do yourself a favor and make up your own mind. A merc can have just as much to bring on the PVP field as any other classes. Fight smarter, not harder. Fake cast. Don't be afraid to stand toe-to-toe with someone, rather than wasting attack time backpedaling to gain distance and giving them free shots. If you're going to die, make them pay for taking you down to leave the opportunity for another to finish them off.
  6. Three three items for Imperials that kick off the quest are a crashed pod in the western Mos Ila, in a wall, the TV screen at the spaceport, and a crate west of the travel point tent, inside the city walls near a phase area.

    Edited to correct.

Also, just did the dailies on my 27 alt. Just recommend being Tatooine-level to do the dailies.

  7. I expected to be upset...

...then I played it on the PTR. I have to say, I think they handled balancing well. I like the additional raid, gear, graphics revamp... honestly, there's not a thing I don't like, and I'm an arsenal mercenary. I agree that our rotation needed to keep away from too much tracer spam. I'm excited to see us play more dynamically.

The Legacy system is very exciting for me. I love account unlocks, and allowing myself the maximum level of options on character creation and the like.

New operation. New flashpoint. New shinies.

    Can't wait!

  8. If you're planning to raid, I would recommend Bioanalysis, Biochem, and Slicing. I made it to 400 without having to use the Diplomacy mats, I have my infinite stims, and slicing keeps me making credits hand over fist to pay for repairs. I've bought both 1,500,000 credit mounts, I've paid to gear all my companions, and I still have a ton of credits.
  9. Ugh. Reading helps.

I use it when I want to add a bit of flair to my close-quarters fighting. If a weak mob has the gall to run up to me, he gets an Explosive Dart for his trouble, shoulder charged, and if that doesn't kill him, I rocket punch or jet boost him back to his friend carrying the explosive with him. Personally I think it's great fun.
