  1. Great to hear this podcast. Was a little disappointed to hear you won't be going to RTX this year. I would figure that you would, considering both Bioware and Rooster Teeth are in Austin, and members of the TOR team have been on the RT podcast.

The events I mentioned on the podcast are just the ones we've committed to so far. We're still looking into returning to RTX, especially since it's right next door to us. At the very least, I'll be there on my own. Come say hi! I'll bring Taun Fawn codes! :rak_09:

  2. I think there might be some confusion here between two different abilities/skills, so let me attempt to clarify, and if you still believe it's not working this way, I'll have someone from the Combat team take a look.

    • The Tracer Missile ability stacks a debuff on your target. Without the skill "Light 'Em Up", it takes 5 shots to build the stack to 5. With the skill, it takes 3 shots (as each shot now grants 2 stacks). I just logged in to check, and it still does work this way.

    • The skill "Tracer Lock" grants a buff on yourself, increasing the damage your next Rail Shot will do. This is not affected by "Light 'Em Up," and I don't believe it ever has been.

Can you please look at both your buff and your target's debuff and confirm this is working the way it should be? The debuff should stack twice as fast as the buff, neither of which have been changed. If you guys have more questions, let me know and I'll get someone to take a look.

    Thanks!

  3. This was indeed a change that was missed in the patch notes. We apologize for this and are working to add it in shortly.

With this change, daily Warzone missions now require "6 played matches," however any win in a Warzone counts as 2 "played matches". This still provides a solid incentive for you to win, but also allows players who lose matches to progress their daily mission by participating.

  4. Hi everyone,

I apologize for the confusion surrounding this but the Legacy Promotion page is accurate. If your account met the Legacy Promotion requirements by April 22nd, you will receive your rewards via in-game mail by 11:59 pm CDT today:

Swift and strong, and ready to stand firm at its master’s side, the Tauntuan Ram pet will be delivered to you via in-game mail by April 25, 2012, 11:59PM CDT/ April 26, 2012, 4:59AM GMT.

If you qualify and have signed up to receive The Old Republic updates by email, you’ll receive an email notification from ‘The Old Republic™ Community’. The 30 days of game time will show up on your account by April 25, 2012, 11:59PM CDT/ April 26, 2012, 4:59AM GMT and will begin once your current game time remaining expires. If the remaining game time on your account expires prior to April 25, 2012, 11:59PM CDT/ April 26, 2012, 4:59AM GMT, you will be unable to login to the game until your 30 days of game time are added to your account.

Our APAC transfer community will receive their Tauntaun Ram Pets slightly later due to issues involving in-game mail for transfer accounts. Here's Stephen's post:

To ensure no-one misses out, we are briefly delaying delivery of the Tauntaun Ram Pet to those who are transferring their characters. Everyone who has transferred characters(s) to the Asia-Pacific servers should receive their Tauntaun Ram Pet via in-game mail early next week (starting April 30th). We’ll bring you more exact details closer to the time.

For more information on the Legacy Promotion, read here.

We hope this sheds some light on the matter. Again, apologies for any confusion this caused!

  5. 1. In warzones, you can not move the scoreboard. It used to be middle of map, not it is off set to the right. It is one of the UI items that can't be moved.

Each of the scoreboards are customizable. Make sure your dropdown in the Interface Editor is set to "Warzone" or "All" in order to see and move the PvP scorecards.

  6. With the updated UI customization I was expecting:

    • Movable Pop-up Windows
    • Resizable Pop-up Windows
    • Resizable Main Map

Am I missing how to do this? The window frustration when opening a character sheet, inventory, etc. was what bugged me the most about the UI and that apparently hasn't changed.

And now that I have everything else scaled the way I want it, I still can't do anything about the large overhead map.

It's a start, but not done, and a little late.

While you can't resize the windows yet (and that is feedback I'll pass to the team!), you can indeed move them around. Open the UI Editor and check "Enable Movable Secondary Window."

  7. I apologize if this has already been answered, but I was trying to dig through some of the legacy topics, and I was wondering if there are any unlocks or features of 1.2 that allow your legacy characters to level faster?

the "coming soon" part of the legacy interface adds xp buffs (pvp, flashpoint, or quests?) that you can buy for legacy alts.

Purchasable character-specific upgrades (including increased XP for certain elements of the game) are indeed in the Coming Soon tab of Legacy. You can expect these upgrades to become available in Game Update 1.3.

  8. Operation lockouts reset on Tuesday mornings, regardless of maintenance. I've double checked with the team, and they confirmed that lockouts will not reset tonight during maintenance.

This means that anyone who has already cleared Karagga's Palace or Eternity Vault this week will not be able to run them again until their lockouts reset on Tuesday, however everyone should be able to attempt the new Operation: Explosive Conflict immediately after the patch.

  9. The Meet & Greet will take place at the BioWare Base inside the PAX convention center (Room 105). Here are the details:

    Date: Saturday, April 7th

    Time: 8:00PM -11:00PM

Location: Room 105 in the Boston Exhibiton & Convention Center (e.g. the BioWare Base)

What: Meet the developers of The Old Republic, grab some drinks, and hang out with the rest of the SW:TOR community!

You will need a PAX badge to get into the convention center, but the room itself is open to all PAX attendees. We hope to see you there!

  10. UPDATE 4/3/12: The remaining panels have been posted. If you have any feedback about the structure of the panels, please let us know in this thread. Thanks!

ORIGINAL POST: We've launched a new YouTube playlist featuring the Guild Summit panels, which were held on March 5th in Austin, TX. Today we are releasing the Operations/Flashpoints panel and the Player Vs. Player panel, and we'll be posting more next week.

You'll find the playlist for these videos on YouTube here:

Since this was our first Guild Summit, we're very interested in hearing your feedback about the entirety of the event (as well as the content within the panels themselves). Let us know your thoughts below!

  11. It's time for the beginning of the 2012 convention season, which kicks off with PAX East in Boston next week. Since this is our first major convention post-launch, we wanted to share with you some of our plans for the event.

    Playable Demos

We'll be bringing Game Update 1.2 with us to the show, so for those of you who have been unable to check it out on the Public Test Server, this will be a great opportunity to see the new customizable User Interface, Legacy, and more.

We'll also have The Old Republic's Razer peripherals at each computer. If you haven't had a chance to see the keyboard, mouse, and headset in action, this will be your opportunity to come check them out and play with them!

    Community Lounge

We're premiering our Community Lounge for the first time this year, an area of the booth for players of The Old Republic to hang out and socialize with developers, other players, and the Community team throughout the weekend. Stop by our registration desk, grab a name badge, and meet your fellow Republic and Empire fans!

    New Warzone: Novare Coast

We'll have a signup sheet for anyone who comes by and wants to put a team together to face off in the new Novare Coast Warzone. Prizes await the winners!

    Exclusive In-Game Mini-Pet: Tauntaun Fawn

For the first time ever, fans who visit our booth will be able to pick up a code redeemable for a tauntaun mini-pet in-game. These special black and white tauntauns are only available by coming to one of our events, so check out the Events page for more information about where we'll be this year.

MMORPG.com panel: The Future of Online Gaming

James Ohlen, Game Director, will be appearing on MMORPG.com's panel on Friday evening at 6PM in the Main Theater, to discuss where the MMO genre is heading in the next ten years. Attendees will be able to ask questions directly to the panelists, so come prepared!

We're really excited for this first opportunity to spend time with players of the game in-person, and we can't wait to see you in Boston!

  12. So now I'm confused about 8-man queuing.

At first they made it sound like it was an addition going in with 1.2. But then it was listed on the power point under "Future of Warzones" with "Timeline: TBD".

So yes or no to 8-man for 1.2?

UPDATE: Please see Stephen's post here. I've updated the post below to reflect his comments.

Just to clarify, since I've seen this question a number of times in this thread. What we said was:

    • Cross-server PvP queuing is in the works
    • Once it launches, it will allow us to do things such as:
    • More level bracketing

    • 8-man team creation

    • Ability to queue for a specific warzone

There is no current timeline for this feature, and there's also no guarantee that it will all happen at once, but cross-server queuing will open up a bunch of possibilities for us. Once we have more details, of course, we will let you know.

  13. All emails have now been sent out. Please check your inboxes if you applied for the Guild Summit, and email guilds@swtor.com if you do not receive an email within the next hour or so.

For those who have been put on the waitlist, we'll contact you sometime within the next week if a space opens up for your guild.

For those who did not apply but are anxiously awaiting more details about the Summit and the livestream, we'll be providing that once we're much closer to the event. For now, I can tell you that the livestream will run on Monday, March 5th for the majority of the morning and afternoon. Once we nail down the exact schedule, we'll provide it to you so you can plan around it if necessary.

Thanks again to everyone who applied! We look forward to seeing you in Austin or on the livestream!

  14. Hi everyone,

Thank you so much to everyone who applied for the Guild Summit! We received thousands of applications, have spent the past few days reading through every single one, and we really appreciate all the feedback we received.

In a few minutes we'll begin sending out emails to everyone who applied for the Guild Summit. These emails will let you know if your guild has been selected to attend the Summit at this time. Please do not book any flights or hotels unless you receive an email instructing you to do so. The event has an extremely limited capacity, and without an event badge you will not be allowed into the Summit. Guilds who have not been selected in this first round have been placed on a waitlist, and if any selected guilds do not respond in time, we will open up their space to the waitlist.

Please make sure you check your emails once we confirm that all the emails have been sent out. Any guild leader who receives an acceptance email must confirm their attendance within 48 hours. Guilds who do not confirm in time will lose their place at the Summit to another guild off the waitlist.

If you have any questions about the process once you've received your email, please contact guilds@swtor.com. Thanks all!

    Current status update:

2:15PM CST - Emails have now all been sent. Please check your inbox and spam for the email. If you applied but did not receive an email, please contact guilds@swtor.com and we'll investigate.

  15. Any one want split a room with me at the Marriott? 119.00 is the nightly rate. PM me when they get send out the invites.

that way it's 60.00/night per person.

I highly recommend you hold off on this until you hear back on the status of your application. First, because I don't want you putting money down until you get invited, but more importantly, because I've been securing much cheaper rates than that across hotels in the immediate area (including the DoubleTree itself). More information will be provided to the attendees, and we've got rooms reserved already, so you don't have to worry about them running out.

  16. OHHH.. you mean the ones where the only questions that are "answered" are those that have been asked and answered 3412139418 times via forums, official posts, videos, etc...

This is actually one of the major reasons I've been pushing to do something like this for a long time. The events you're referring to are public conventions, where you get an audience of people who don't play the game, and aren't aware of the community and the information that's out there already. At those events, we always want to answer any questions, regardless of whether or not they've been answered before. Your audience at a gaming convention tends to be much more "all-around gamer" and less "hardcore SW:TOR fan", and therefore we cater our plans towards that.

In this case, we're specifically inviting guild leaders who are actively playing the game. While we're inviting guilds from all walks of life, the application process is there because we want to be able to raise the level of discourse we hold with the leaders, and so we can have serious, in-depth discussions about the state of the game. This event isn't just a Q&A like we've done previously, this is a two-way conversation between the people making the game and the people playing the game, and I think that makes a huge difference with this event vs. conventions we've visited in the past.

  17. Those of you who are concerned about hotels: We've been working very closely with the DoubleTree to get a great rate for the event, and we've got a block of rooms being held for those who are coming. In addition, we're working with hotels in the immediate area to get a variety of rates for anyone who wishes to come. No one needs to worry about having to wait until the last minute to book hotels, as that's something we've already taken care of. If your guild's application is accepted, we'll be in touch with all the options we've put together in the Austin area.

If you have more questions about the event, I encourage you to email guilds@swtor.com and I'll be happy to provide more information.

  18. Hi Crash,

You are still in the first 30 days of your account, so you have not yet been charged for a subscription. Once you are charged for your next 30 days, within a week you'll receive an email letting you know that your Founder's medal is waiting for you.

    Hope that helps!
