  1. Well, this is a welcome surprise.

But also somewhat worrying looking at the timeline.

While game has definitely been aching for new blood, doing it 8-something months after a failed expansions of unfulfilled promises, it is a terrible starting point for a new team and frustrated players are no doubt going to let them feel their ire over past mishaps. I'm not much different in this, though i recognize most of this is by not means fault of our new leads, but I like many others have been looking for reasons to keep playing for close to a year now, and we are only getting anew team at the end stretch of it. Hopes for reasons to play going up anytime soon with this long stretches is unfortunately not looking terribly promising.

That being said, I am happy to see a "new" team taking over the game (new in quotations since they've worked on this before too, just different ranks or areas).

And, no pressure, but you guys are probably the only hope of a dying playerbase and are going to decide whether it makes or breaks the camels back for majority of us :D

  2. Devs. Explain me something:

Why cant we share Weekly Operation quests anymore? what is the logic behind this change?

Did you think it would be fun experience to gather a group, be ready in position to summon everyone for raid just to hear "Wait I need to get my weekly!" "Wait I dont have weekly" "Can anyone share weekly?" "Wait forgot weekly." "Wait need to go back to fleet for weekly."

...I could have given them all the quest with one button press but NAY! It's leg-day for everyone now for no reason.

Why can we not change loadouts in Group Finder?

I used to be able to que as both DPS and TANK on my juggernauts, and use fieldrespec to play whichever role popped first. Now I cannot since if I que, I cannot press the loadout buttons "Cannot do that while qued to activity!". You made a whole new system, hyped it as super easy to use and increasing user friendliness, but in-fact we do absolutely nothing with it. Its even less flexible system than we had before. Why did you think this was a good idea? You NERFED pops by not allowing multi-role ques. Not to mention you cant even que as tank spec while doing heroics as dps spec at the same time waiting in que. Logic?

Why is class balance all over the place?

It was so good in 6.0, what happened? How can you have such a good starting place and wreck it so completely. 6.0 had the best class balance game has ever seen, pretty much every spec was competitive, differences were marginal and mostly ignorable. Now we have crazy differences between performance of classes, and even specs. Ironically, you made my favorite spec OP which I should be happy about (fury) but the contrast is so stark I cant be happy about it. Please raise other classes to my level, people are quitting after seeing the noodle damage their classes now do. It is not fun. Especially most ranged specs are just peashooters now, and knowing first had how melee-unfriendly a lot of your mechanics are, this is nonsense.

Why do dailies just VANISH out of my log if not completed in time?

We were doing heroics the other day before reset. Middle of a phase, reset time hits, POOF. Mission gone. All progression lost. We're sitting inside the instance like "what just happened?". Just needed this one mission for weekly and now we need to go all the way back to base, pick the same quest again, cant even travel to it again because the teleporter is still on cooldown, run all the way back, do all the progress again. Fun! NOT.

There is NO bolster for MM FPs, they are all lv 80 instances now, yet lv 70 characters can que for it.

Hey Bioware, do you know how your combat system works? Like if you are trying to hit a mob ten levels higher than you, you probably miss 90% of your attacks? Yes? Ok then, tell me how you thought a bunch of lv 70 would ever clear a MM FP full of lv 80 mobs without a bolster?

People are STILL not getting loot on some bugged characters....

...and they're not even getting compensation for it. It's been a month, and some guildies have not been able to loot ANY boss loot for the entire time, and customer service isnt giving them even any compensation loot. I would quit at this point too if it happened to me not gonna lie. It is a huge progression issue to have this happen to your character. (their tickets have been answered as "we know the problem, wait till we fix it." No ETA, no compensation, no nothing). Are you trying to make people quit?

  3. I dont blame them. Had a lot of guildies leave because their class is bugged or they're doing garbage damage for no reason. The whole community is parsing but the disparity between classes is staggering. No wonder people are mad and leaving. We had such good class balance last expansion, and now it's back to dung. I cant wrap my head around how they managed to make it so bad after just having it be so good. Infuriating.

Not everyone wants to keep rolling FOTM just to keep raiding or be competitive in PVP, I dont either. Fix this.

  4. Considerably less fun.

Each year they seem to give me less fun.

This used to be my social game, untill they made chapters you cant group for anymore (without it counting for everyone anyway). Even heroics stop working in groups unless you literally hug eachothers all the way to use clickables or area discoveries.

Now, on top of that, they messed up class balance so bad we cant even hardcore raid with a big variety of classes because bunch of them parse 5k lower than other for no good reason. Class balance was really good last expansion, how the heck did you manage to mess it THIS bad??

  5. 1 even if mara would lose All of the staded skills they would still be in a better spot then sage/sorc is atm

'we are also the second easiest class to kill already and certain comps can ToD us if they do it correct'

Wroong. There was some tacticals that made maras look more survivable than they really are, but without taken those into account maras were always first to be focused down EXACTLY because they were easy to kill before tacticals.

Maras cannot godbubble and heal to full, or teleport behind a corner and spam self-healing. Their camo doesnt drop them from combat for regen. Sorcs dont have to be out of combat to heal like maras do. You do not know what you speak of or have never seen maras before tacticals were introduced, and we still dont know if old tacticals will be usable at 80.

  6. Why isn't it based on individual performance?

Sub 1k dps? Unranked. Sub 2.5k dps? Bronze. 5k dps in a match? Silver. 7k? Gold - Top 3.

Calculate total HPS, total DPS, Final blows, Survival, decorations, etc.

No. This will never work, because certain classes will always be focused down first, and no matter how good you are your stats will always be lower because of it. It would mean some classes would never rank up almost at all because of exactly this reason.

DPS and HPS isn't fair either because certain classes have self-healing while others dont, meaning self-healing classes would _always_ outperform in rating just because they have green buttons and for no other reason. This isn't skill this is difference in utility.

Instead of complaining about teammates, learn to help your teammates. If you see someone getting focused, help them by rooting and slowing chasers, taunting, healing, anything really. If it is the enemy that keeps getting away it's probably because their teammates is helping them, while you ignore your teammates.

There will always be bad players, in both teams. Such is the way of pvp games.

  7. Devs asked for feedback on how the changes felt my feedback is that I don't like the changes and I dont' want them.

Nowhere in the dev post does it say that users need to armchair develop alternatives for abilities that's is your own imagination, and if you really think that they are just gonna go with a frankenstein idea someone posted on forums then I have a bridge to sell to you.

Oh yes, because the Frankenstein changes in OP are so much better. Good job making zero arguments again.

  8. -I was clearing nim ops before 3.0 was even a thing. NIce try. Also saber reflect was there since 1.0 so ops were already balanced around that.

-Or maybe give the feedback that certain abilities are necessary under certain circumstances and should not be touched instead of coming up with terrible frankenstein substitutes.

-I tanked ops before didnt lose aggro, try having better tanks.

-I already made my suggestions, if they wanna remove useless abilities they should remove the last ones they introduced. Press this yet another button to do 10 per cent more dmg without situational awareness or any type of decision making involved is as uninspired as it gets in terms of abilities, even more than giving everyone a reflect or a teleport, instead they remove abilities that have been in the game since 1.0

    - Yeah, I've played from beta. You know, back when exactly one class had a raidbuff? Nice try indeed my mate. We cleared stuff fine without any.

    - Make a better one.

    - Wow you've tanked ops before? You must be the only person ever who ever tanked anything therefor you're the only one who knows how threat drops are completely useless abilities haha. Come be out better tank, I cant wait to see you be absolutely epic at everything. (I know you wont come. It's easier to claim to be the best than be the best. We internet anons are always best at everything after all, amirite)

    - So your only suggestion is to remove one ability when they're trying to remove five? Ok, so you didnt suggest anything worthwhile. It's easy to be negative nancy and say no to anything and put no effort into trying to make better alternatives. I could also have just said no to everything and leave it at that, but that wouldn't help them alternate decisions they're clearly goning to make anyway no matter if we negative nancy everything or not.

  9. -What reflects? you are aware that for a reflect to do **** the boss has to target you? How is that a substitute for a raid buff that affects everyone?

    -No thanks

-Yeah sure having a half speed slow with 20 per cent healing decrease on rotational abilities is a great idea, pvp'ers will love it

-No need to lower cd's on taunt any tank worth their salt should be able to keep aggro and if not they can use guard

    - Are you saying teams with no raid buffing classes cannot complete NIMs? Get gud boddy. (And to answer your question: yes, there is a ton of bosses and phase adds that can be damaged with reflects and therefor speed up the phase.)

    - Nice argument

    - Yeah its not great but if you wanna remove buttons (like they clearly want to with these PTS changes), there you go.

    - You're welcome to come tank for my team, we promise to not use any threat drops.

+ Make better suggestions then, I see you making zero effort

  10. Putting a choice between more damage, single slow or Transcendence seems like a nobrainer.

As well as a choice between a good defensive or a threat drop (camo). DPS should ALWAYS have access to threat drop without having to sacrifice an entire ability.

Keep the utility point system with passives to choose from. It was a great system imo and removing it to force player into picking between activate-able abilities rather than passive buffs is no fun at all. If you want to simplify and lessen button amounts, don't make nonsense choices, just remove or combine some abilities completely:

    Some suggestions:

    - Delete ALL raid buffs from all classes (having the debuffs clutter healer UI constantly is annoying anyway). We have plenty of buffs and cheese reflects not originally in vanilla to make up for the dps loss from raidbuffs in current game anyway.

    - Delete Valorous Call and just have regen give you centering automatically by default, deleting raid buff deletes biggest use for Valorous Call anyway.

(- Leg Slash could be combined with another ability to remove another button, I would recommend combining with twin saber throw or blade storm)

(- If you really want to get rid of Camo and leave dps with no threat drop, then lessen taunt cooldown for tanks. I would recommend against it and just keep camo though as taunt is much stronger cd in pvp)

  11. Why do we need to choose between so many critical abilities? Or are the choices ONLY between A and B, and the third without letter is guaranteed gain? It doesn't really explain, just says "pick one" then lists three abilities so I'm a bit confused.

  12. Nor will they "get as far as me". They're not going to have a plethora of trophies in their SH, from SM all the way to MM. They may, eventually, get BiS gear, given the way gear is distributed now, but not as "quickly" as I will. They can, however, expect to be able to play the stories that were the main selling point for the base game. It's not a From Software game, where the expectation is that only top tier players will finish it. You see, this isn't a SP experience, it's an MMO. It's not PvP-centric, so that level of challenge doesn't exist for everyone.

This would be even more hilarious, if it weren't for the fact that it's so pervasive. You see, I can pretty much copy/paste my responses from GW 2 forums, and ESO forums, for games I've played recently, to here, in the exact same topic. There's a reason for that, developers are in it to make money, and they need as wide a net as possible to catch as much money as possible. You can say it's a stupid argument all day, but I understand the motivation behind making the base game as accessible as it is.

I'm starting to think you have comprehension problems since you keep talking about things that have nothing to do with what I am arguing for, nor responding to anything I am replying to. You keep moving the goal post and going offtopic I never even touched. Respond to what I am saying next time or stop responding alltogether.

If you want everyone to be able to play like you're arguing here, you're basically asking for a visual novel. No thanks. Thats basically already youtube.

  13. There are a myriad of reasons for the game to be less hard these days. I have all the datacrons unlocked, and they apply as soon I roll up. I have all the classes done, and the buffs apply when I walk out of the first cutscene. I've been playing for years now, off and on, and all of my rotations are muscle memory, and all my gear stays relatively current, because I have maxed out crafters in all disciplines. I have crafted stims, and crafted med packs, if I need them. Instanced content that should be locked to whatever level it initially was, instead of the planetary level, just to name a few. The devs can't build around most of this. The only thing they can do is fix the instances, but even then, I didn't struggle with them when I was new, it's not going to change now.

Sure, some people don't want to be fussed with the combat. What's wrong with that? My money isn't worth more than their money is. They've paid for access to the same game I have, and they should be able to play it w/out having to get any where near my skill level, if that's how they want to play. It's not on me to dictate how they should play either. The only time I have any control over that is when I'm grouping up for content that requires some coordination. However, I don't think I'm going to wind up in any groups with them, because I had to quit Ops, due to my own health. If I did, however, anyone not doing what's expected of them in a group situation can, and will be kicked. But when they're knocking around in the OW, doing their own thing, I don't care how they go about it, and I'm sure not wanting to, as I said earlier, lock them out by virtue of insisting that the game conform to my standards.

1% of any of that had anything to do with what I'm arguing. Sigh

If I buy video game I don't expect to get as far as everyone else just because I paid the same amount of money as them for the game. That's a dumb argument. I paid the same amount as everyone else for G'nG, never completed it. Won't find me crying to get cheesecake version just cuz I'm bad.

  14. I could actually care less about your tips. My very first fight with Baras took 3 minutes. Comps were unique, and had to be geared, and there was no level sync. So when was this supposed to be hard? The only end of story boss that gave me any trouble at all was the end of the Consular story, because I consistently interrupted the wrong skill... None of the rest were harder than Baras, and none of them lasted very long. So no, it's got nothing to do with your tips, and everything to do with there hasn't been a time since I started playing that this game was challenging in Class/planetary missions. Some FPs and Ops, sure, but the basic story content? Nope.

That's not what I was arguing anyway.

Game was never especially hard. But its even less hard these days. People not wanting to revert to even vanilla difficulty "because they can't be bothered with combat" was what my tips were for. I don't know why you are even being so confrontational if nothing I said even mattered to you lol.

  15. I've found the content easy, even when others insist that it was more challenging. In fact, I find that it's that way in most of the MMOs that I've played, and the only parts of others where I didn't find it easy was the equivalent of Ops here. Things like dungeons, and what would amount to heroic areas in those games. This isn't a design flaw with the games, it's that I play my SP games on the highest difficulty, and I have been doing so since they were a thing.

I was doing the H4 on Oricon, while it was relevant, with a Shadow tank and Nadia, who was a DPS back then. Of course, I was also progression raiding in my guild too, so I had BiS gear, and so did the comp. Back when I only had like 8 characters, and they all had BiS gear, because that's what I ran Ops for. But I don't expect, and never have, that any developer will build the game to suit me. Yes, there are lots of players that are better at it than I am, but there are a lot more that aren't. Why would I want to push them out of an MMO that they may enjoy, just because I think that the game's too easy? If the story's boring for you, skip it. Once you get to the fleet, you can start running Heroics and FPs to level up just fine, or, if you're into it, PvP.

I'm not against adding tiers to instanced content. I'd probably take advantage of it. However, that's not what the intent of this thread was, reading the title and the opening post, and, I'm betting, reading your tips, that it's not all that you're looking for either.

What makes you think I don't want to do story? I just want the story enemies to actually be a threat. Why should I fear any story nemesis ever if they die in a few hits? Very anticlimactic.

As much as I hate story chapter format, I appreciated them having different difficulty tiers. I actually died a couple times doing gold chapters! Imagine a random security guy on Zakuul being 50x harder to beat than the Darth B, your supposed ultimate final nemesis. ahahaha

You seem to be awfully stuck on my youtube tip, and nothing else. The other two tips that would make your life easier are COMPLETELY valid if you want to "experience it yourself". But if you dont want to "bother with combat" youtube is your road.
