  1. Wrong.

Power is basically ability damage. Willpower gives you a technically lesser amount of ability damage but also adds a chance to multiply said damage.

Analogy: x+1 is less than (x-1)*1.7. Plain and simple.

Edit: for all those who stumble on this thread read: Power Vs. Main Stat

  2. Hello?? What kind of post of "please turn all my companions to Dark because i want to have Dark V" is it? And if someone is running a Light V Inquisitor what have to do? suicide? All classes have some companions that go to one side and some others that go to the other side. Accept it and dont cry for everything.

Blowing the argument out of proportion are we?

  3. Ran a warzone with guildies and went against a team of 5 healers, 2 tanks, and a marauder. Needless to say, life sucked for that whole match.

    Edit: and this was voidstar.

  4. Some people like the idea of the Electrostaff (different from Techstaff). Like the droids in Episode 3 that fight for GG. I think it is cool, and it is unfair of Wars/Knights get to use Vibros.

This is why once I finish getting warhero gear, I'm gonna shove the lightsaber mods from bm onto an electrostaff. 31/0/11 doesn't need discharge for damage.

  5. It does. Once you have the first tier of gear of your crit or power build, this class begins to hold its own. For pvp, you should hit 50 with enough valor to wear warhero and at least 3200 war hero comms, have enough money for at least recruit set, and max warzone comms. This way you're not under geared.

Lastly, you should know the bias against the assassin. People belive assassins are easy kills. So they focus you. If you prove that you have skills with the class, get your kill, and survive the dogpile, the other team will mark you and then focus you before they even go after your healers. Trust me on this one. My best advice would be to play your assassin the same manner you would play an un-fed assassin in LoL.

  6. I don't really see how ashara ruins the SI storyline. If you prefer, you never actually have to "see" or hear from her. Personally until recently, I always sent ashara on crew skills missions and otherwise left her in her corner.

If you want companion storyline, Khem Val, Andronikos, and Talos are a great choices; I additionally enjoy watching Xalek grow as a Sith.

In Ashara's defense however, It's easy to farm affection with her via Belsalvis dailies. The blunt manner which the SI argues with her is entertaining. Lastly, I have it on good account that depite a lack of a long term relationship with her, you can still have "bedrock" moments in the back room with your companion.

Edit: Thana was too weak for me to accept as a companion. I would of fed her to Khem instead.

  7. Deception burst aside, I think all that's needed is a lower cd on Blackout and Force Cloak.

A 45s or 1min cd force cloak will give deception assassins more survivability and allow them to "hit and run" reliably.

A 15s cd blackout/darkswell will reproc dark embrace more often whilst in combat and give deception assassins more force similar to how battering assault works for marauders.

Both of these changes could be implemented by tweaking talents mid way up the skill tree so other specs don't off spec for these advantages. These changes would also give deception sins enough sustained force regen to pve similar to what Deathmark & Blood of the Sith does for their various specs.

  9. True. Also allowing crew skill missions to double as player content (ie Treasure Hunting's Pazaak tournament mission or the "sealed in stupidity" treasure hunting mission) would be just as profound, but apparently Bioware seems to think that mini-games detract from the star wars experience.

Hint: they do not. Pazaak and swoop racing made players feel part of the culture thus enhancing immersibility.

Also there was a chess-like game.that Goto mentioned in KoTOR2. I'd like to see that be part of the game too. These are definitely good ideas. I think they should be kept at bioware's attention.

  10. I personally hate it when people stupidly overpriced their products. Case in point? Might mod 12 on Drooga's pleasure boat(server). I know for a fact that the scavenging and Underworld trading missions cost at tops 2k. People normally sell for 8k. I sell for 5k.

  12. 1. How do you think your Assassin spec is perceived by other classes?

Assassin is seen as underpar in all of its roles. Tanking is significantly less efficient as an assassin. DPS as an assassin is inferior in both burst and sustained. I've heard a lot of people say that the only place an Assassin has is in pub-stomping.

    2. How do you perceive your own spec?

First, I would like to say that I'm used to playing as an Assassination rogue from WoW, and I started after rogues got disfigured via banhammer. Life sucked until I got gear. Then I started to stand toe-to-toe competitively. The reason why i couldn't progress into higher content as a rogue was perception, or more specifically prejudice. People percieved that class and spec as underpowered regardless of changes to reality.

Infiltration/Deception Spec Assassin/Shadow are litterally that spec right now. With lots of work, skill, and a razer naga, burst can be on point with other classes. However, enduring public prejudice will stunt the class later on.

Honestly, I enjoy laughing at the scoreboards with my roommate after topping in either damage, kills, or trophies. I adore disrupting a line-up of healers, harrying the capture of a node, or simply being a decoy to turn a 6v6 into a 4v6 or even a 3v6. Each time I cloak and get away; every single time. It's even funnier to save people using the assassin burst + mind control, but only because I contradict their prejudice. However, this class is at present very underpowered: in both fp regen and burst. My marauder has better sustain and burst at lv 27 than my Assassin at lv 40. transferring targets without re-stealthing destroys dps.

I want to keep playing this class; I really do. However, I know that I want to see the marauder and Imperial Agent storylines. When I pvp as those classes, I will have so much more burst, utility, and acceptance while still keeping stealth/burst/rogue persona that I won't come back. I'll be able to this game as an mmo instead of a solo, so i won't come back. That's just a shame since I love both this class's concept and Darth Maul.

  13. So in short, your opinion is the vast majority just want to mindlessly shoot crap, without giving any thought on how to win objective based PvP?

This people, is why the few that get it, laugh at the lolnerf threads.

I wish this game forced people to understand objective based PvP, before they were allowed to post and cry for nerfs.

Sorry OP, but the WZ strategies haven't changed since the game came out (least 95% of it), if players haven't figured out by now that the WZ's are set-up for objectives as opposed to lolzergpewpew than that's the fault of the player, not the game nor to those who understood it from day 1.

Maybe now, some will start learning what's important in WZ's, as opposed to reading into the final stats at the end of the match.

Lol. With the exception of huttball, warzones are blatant ripoffs of territories PvP. (Wow, cod, halo) take your pic. Edit: I wish they allowed solo queue ranked.

  14. Switch spec to Darkness, roll with your medic, use your CC's and you will NEVER die.

Except, you don't Drellik until after Hoth. he needs to make sure he's not underleveled for the quest, then check his gear, then check his build, and then check his rotation. After that, It's a matter of packs and stims.

(edit: I leveled with Deception almost never died until I respecced madness at lv 48 just to try it. I think madness was more intended for Sorcerers, but I wouldn't recommend it until you have the skill points to climb up to both Blood Of Sith and Raze.)

  15. For Assassin, 530 crit rating is ~30.06%. 600 Crit rating is ~33.36%. Get the Idea?

The highest I've ever been 35% but that's with EVERYTHING adding crit. Personally I plan to do is maintain 530 crit rating and exchange all my Crit +Accuracy mods for Crit + Surge mods, with the exception of one or two so I keep at least a 95% Acc rating. Then stack Power + Surge mods from warhero Force Master like nobody's business.

My minimum Crit rating for deception is 28% Crit and 70% Surge Damage. I've been as low as 27%, but had to bail because the actual crit was that horrible. I wouldn't run this spec with any less crit than 28%.

Also Willpower does more for DPS than Power, from what I heard.

  16. In my opinion, Darkness is the one Assassin build that does not add benefits to Crit Chance (with the exception of energize). However, you want some crit because that 150% damage is nasty when it does rear it's head. I've used darkness dps for pvp when I'm too lazy to think and just want to faceroll and harness darkness spam.

Basically the my dps rotation was shock > wither > discharge > thrash (once or twice until energize proc), recklessness, shock, and force lightning > assassinate. This is because Energize + Recklessness + Shock hits as hard as assassinate and Recklessness + Force Lightning is 3k over 3 seconds. PvP DPS Darkness build . With Darkness DPS, All that's necessary is Willpower, Power, and some minimal Surge and Crit.
