Welcome to the "my blinders are off" club. Games lacking way to many features and I canceled my sub a week ago. Just look at all the things GW2 is going to have at launch? All the media coverage yesterday just FLOORED me. I wanted to really find a long term home in tor because I love the IP so much but I just couldnt bring myself to log on anymore with so many features missing

Fiance wanted to try out MMOS this past weekend so I figured we would do Rift lite since I hadnt played since last april and was curious. I am now unsubbed from tor and we are both subbed (she got hooked) to Rift. Cannot believe the night and day difference in these games AT LAUNCH not to mention what all trion has added not to mention their STELLAR customer support (had mobile key authenticator problems and got a free month "for my troubles")
Maybe the content in 1.2 will bring me back (I was really looking forward to the legacy system since I am a altoholic) but I doubt it. As of now Rift has been the first mmo I have went back to after moving on. I really wanted this game to be somewhere I could setup camp for a few years but the SW lore just cant cover up a lacking game anymore

My fiance wanted to learn mmos so this weekend we set down to play the Rift lite since it was free. I was instantly brought back to a year ago when I played that game for 3 months and was shocked at how much more polish that game had at launch. From the character creation options to the guild love and everything in between. I decided not to reup this month and give Rift another try. Hopefully BW gets stuff under control and at the end of next month Ill decide to switch back but at this point its VERY doubtful which sucks cause I wanted to love this game so much.

Since Rift has a level 20 trial I played it this weekend with my fiance who wanted to learn how to play a MMO. Man I forgot how polished that game was and now is. (At launch it was alot better then tor)
I have decided to not resub this month and am very much leaning towards giving Rift another chance if the fiance gets into it (she seemed to have a lot of fun this weekend)
Maybe 1.2 and the legacy system will bring me back but with the glaring lack of common features that should be there at launch i have just had enough. Just my opinion and not flaming anyone else. If you are enjoying it have fun.
This makes me really sad D: I had such high hopes for you TOR! You were my brother i loved you!

Can we get at least some details on the legacy system? It's supposed to be released next month and after months of hype and build up we know exactly bubpkiss >.<

Good points. It hurts when the blinders fall off (they fell off for me on the 1.1 patch) Still hoping the get some key missing features in with 1.2 but doubtful.

Sorry to break it to you, you wasted your money trying to upgrade to make this game run better.
For newer games (SWTOR engine is not newer) I would expect the 550ti to give you a slight performance gain. For older games you are going to see no real difference, with the way SWTOR is coded you will not see a difference.
Thankfully this was NOT a upgrade for TOR. I usually play on my laptop while watching tv with fiance and get 30fps avg on it (2.8 quad core i7 if i remember correctly and 500m 3gb nvidia 8 gig ram)
The upgrade was just in general and figured I would do a test for TOR with the whole fps debate going on.

Try this:
Lemme splain why those games are working better ... They are actually using the DirectX 10/11, this game is DX 9 so your DX 10/11 is trying to run it in an emulation of 9. I did what they said in this link and I gained a huge amount of FPS in Ilium, hope this helps you some ...
Tried that as well and still no increase in normal town areas. Need to load up my BH to test Ilium

I think people are missing the point. I was not expecting **** faceroll increases with the 550ti. I know its a old card. What I was expecting was a better increase then 2 fricken fps by upgrading from a 9600.
Also amd vs intel is kinda like the ati vs nvidia debate. They both make good products and a lot comes down to consumer bias

The test was done in Nar Shaddaa with a grand total of 4 people on the planet. Also cpu never peaked above 65% FPS indicator NEVER even flickered to red

While you are in game, please hit CONTROL+SHIFT+F
You will see a little FPS meter appear in the bottom left corner.
Is the color green or red?
Green = Your card what's causing the ceiling on your FPS (even if it's really high, it has a ceiling).
Red = CPU is the cause.
I'm guessing your FPS sucked because of the CPU from the start.
green never flickers to red. this is both before and after upgrade

a 550ti is not a top-of-the-line card
it's a budget card, so temper your expectations and try reducing your settings
I never said it was top of the line. However if i can get more then 20 fps on MAX settings on Skyrim and BF3 something is wrong here

Actual CPU architecture too, that goes a long way in determining performance.
Sorry at work and dont remember. All I can say is its a amd chip. originally was 2.2ghz
