  1. The primary people who defend this system by enlarge are non raiders and players who do little PvP. And only now do some PvP because of the lucrative CXP gains it offers. I feel that the posters who put forth the narrative that they are willing to lose their raiders and PvPers are accurate in their assessment in regards to where the existing development team wants to take this game.

What gets me is that before this patch happened they rolled out a system that encouraged us to play all 8 class stories (at least to level 50 or to the end of chapter 3) as part of a great achievement hunt to get (IMO) a FUGLY circular tank type speeder and title. This utter change in direction, to me, points to a very leaderless approach and lack of vision to a proper game design.

I too am on Jedi Covenant. I am an officer in a small guild. We had up until the month leading up to 5.0 approximately 12 players that were active. Each doing our own thing but would come together to do an occasional Operations and group FPs/HM FPs. I myself am part of the RC channel and fill in where needed. And I, love to run Ops. Sage/Sorc heals being my favorite (Thanks Dianiss for the guide). I haven’t touched NiM, mainly Story or HM. So yes, there’s much for me to do still in regards to what Lu’kimis put out. By the time 5.0 rolled out we were down to 3-4 consistent log ins, if that per day.

One of our guild members was invited and did take part in the PTS test for the now released 5.0. This player is the person who this expansion is catered towards. They do not partake and have never taken part in any of our operations. They barely run FPs. Even they said (because they couldn’t say anything directly related to what they were playing) that we should get ready for some hefty changes that we probably won’t like, and to make sure to spend any crystals on companion gifts where we can. That person admitted that they have gotten more set gear then they had ever had in his history of playing. But for them, they also stated that it didn’t make much of a difference since they don’t play the harder content, and don’t require the min/maxing of stats to maximize their DPS/Heals output.

Something that is not touched upon to much but also seems to be an important point is this: They put in effect a system that allows for 2 routes that give a crazy amount (in comparison to other events= to time spent doing said events) of CXP. Those 2 things are PvP and Uprisings. You can run 5-6 matches or 5-6 Uprisings in the time it takes to get through one SM Operation. And the difference in CXP gain is astronomical when run over a longer period of time. This will cause them (The Dev Team) to say “Hey look our metrics show that players LOVE these 2 events.” This observation has caused me to understand that now, they will have all the justification they need to never design another Operations again.

I cancelled my Sub in December which should have ended Dec 14th upon hearing of another “Emergency” stream I decided to resub on a month to month and not every 6 months. I listened to the Stream on Dulfy because I couldn’t make it to the live. After that I re-cancelled my sub. I know there is little hope with the development team that exists that the content we are looking for will ever be introduced again. The new stories are decent when run through 1-2 times. Some players can make it through 5-6 times. This doesn’t hide the fact that it is a very lazy design when you take out those 25 chapters. After that, then what? You start to peel away the shallowness that is everything else contained within 5.0

The fact that the CM in the last month has been bombarded with sales/promotions, new packs (one which was put out early to maximize profits-No fault for a business to make money) ect…tells exactly where their collective heads are at. They fix most problems related to items within these packs when problems arise. Yet we have bugs that have persisted for the length of the games very existence.

Not to mention taking away gear vendors who sold said gear, that I now find myself disintegrating EVERY TIME. That is lazy, uninspired, unimaginative and points to the lack of proper leadership (and probably financial resources as well). Their gambling game edition they released was the straw. To me (and IMO ONLY) I feel that this is beyond unethical. Yes we choose to pay for a sub, but IF we want to maximize our ability to run the content that is harder we were already running a few months ago (and for years, again) then we have to partake in this failed experiment. And after disintegrating the last 72 crates (spread between 2 sages and 2 Sorcs) out of 115 totals, it gets old.

For those who do not do Operations that require the Min/Maxxing of stats to keep that Tank up, or DPS clobbering the baddies you wouldn’t understand. But I can assure you that the vets that run these Ops or are Hardcore PvPers understand casual mode very well, as most (if not all) have run ALL 8 original stories.

I have read, at length numerous ideas to fix this system. I have also read numerous suggestions that throughout the years that would made this game GREAT! And here was the rub for me. The condescension and lack of concern for those who helped “Keep the lights on” and utter disregard to engage in the community who play their product. For us, it isn’t a product as much as it is a means to connect with other SW fans in an MMORPG (MMO-RPG-should I type it again) as it was sold upon release. They built us a galaxy. We are the ones who built those bonds within this galaxy.

  2. Ignorance is bliss. They think people find this new system "exciting", despite being told the exact opposite. They pretend they hear us and then they do exactly the opposite of what we've asked.

Until there's a major change in leadership in Austin, this game will continue to needlessly bleed subs.

You are right. They won't. Not until a new team has replaced the existing one. The existing one should NEVER be allowed, after this debacle, to touch ANY game design what so ever. Eventually even the most die hard supporters will see (after running the same content 1000 times) that they too will lose faith and find that repackaging what once was a diamond has been turned into a solid POS.

  3. LOL, this was moved to off topic.

It's sad. But not unexpected. I extended for an additional month when they mentioned a spontaneous livestream mid month. I had already went from 6 month sub to month to month. After that livestream I cancelled. I haven't Uunnstalled the game, but haven't logged in in the last week. Account created 9/10/2010.

I came from a mid sized guild on JC. Usually about 12 active players on most times. Not a huge guild but it became a tight nit family. One of ours did par take in the PAST, that he could not talk about (which in itself was sketchy (at least if a company has confidence in its product)) The only thing he did say is "most of you may NOT like the changes"

Within 1 week 12 became 6-3 weeks 6 is now 3. It was a blast for the last 5 years, minus the same Ops for the last 2 with no new REAL CHALLENGING group content. There's little doubt in my mind the way the CPX is set up that, thier "metrics" will show less and less people play Ops as they don't reward **** for doing them. Which means they will have enough justification. I stating that they don't see "trends" steering towards making new Ops.

They want to change the direction of the game...it's thier to do so. I don't even have hate for the "White knights" I do have disgust for the Devi team. To me they are unethical worms doing their masters bidding. No integrity= you are pathetic human beings. Sorry but "misrepresenting" what the truth is as far as changes is in most cultures considered lying ../rant.

Thank you my old guildies and TY JC. It was fun.

  4. Hi all, I'm sure it's on the forums somewhere but i can't seem to find it. If I use one of my saved character boosts and create a level 70 toon, can I go back and play the story and have it count towards my legendary status or do i have to start from level 1?

    thanks for any help.

Nope. Once you use you will not be able go back and do chapters 1-3. Specifically for that reason.

  5. I distinctly remember when this came out that the Uprising bosses dropped small packets for cxp. The ones I have run today, the only bosses that give are the last. I know this was different then before. Did this get intentionally done? Because if so, have (If we want to level cxp) to run these 10 minute heroic 4 mans.

Please address this as I wasn't the only one in the groups I ran with today who made this observation.

  6. BW doesn't get to determine what people find fun. If people find grinding mobs fun, then they should be able to do just that. That's what they're paying to play the game for.

"We don't think it's fun, therefore we don't think you should think it's fun" is just arrogant.

On top of that, after that statement he said it wasn't an EXPLOIT! But they proceeded to nerf it any ways.

  7. Operations gold characters are usually surrounded by a diamond or two. Anyone with sense knows that these golds are NOT the same as open world planetary heroic golds. They should be increased, the fact that the bosses in Operations drop the same amount of CXP as the diamonds in open world or even lesser ones within the operations is also silly.

I hate this system and what you have, in one content update (because this isn't an expansion) ruined what we have built as a community that play within it. Our alts are stagnant. Even then there are ways to make it work so everyone would be ...I guess less pissed? But you wont because the word in the last sentence that sticks out, is WORK.

Dec 12th 2016 sub ends. It's the only way I see any meaningful changes being made is just leaving.

  8. Good for everyone who is only doing pvp but everything else (flashpoints etc) is USELESS to do cause CXP is CRAP

You don't want to understand it right?

And what I suggest happens is that every event gives CXP = to the time played. Everyone knows FPs Planetary Heroics (All of them) take some time to run. They should get rewarded for that time. Because as it stands now, this system is NOT inclusive to everyone's play style.

  9. can we please stop trying to make them worsen an already HORRID grind please?:eek::eek:

    ^ RIGHT HERE^

What the other posters DON'T realize is that rather then take rational approach to fixing the other events that give CXP, to match the time investment it takes to complete them, the DEVS will take these statements and their logic will be "Oh, well PVP needs to get nerfed. Players are exploiting the system we implemented"

  10. OP I feel your pain! Also I'd like to encourage everyone who post a negative reply to this person's thread to pack sand, if you you like this garbage you are part of the problem. Finally while it is somewhat sad to watch this thread I have to give the OP credit, this thread is more entertaining than 5.0 and in some twisted way more fun.

I agree. OP you are a great example of a player that sees this game for what it has become and we are all part of the problem. 12/12/16 Sub ends

  11. Perfect analogy! Except the city council would not be part of McDonalds and thus have no relation to this example. And the McRib is a seasonaal thing, not a permanent menu item.

A better try would have been, "you people are like the folks who go and write to complain to McDonalds corporate about taking all the burgers off the menu, and instead each day you can come and stand in line for 30 minutes to an hour for a chance to randomly get one of the ingredients for the sandwich you want. with a chance of getting a fish patty, coffee, napkin or happy meal toy instead."

    Priceless:D

  12. This is probably the only point you've made that I agree with. Our complaining is a result of frustration and needing an outlet. However, 5 years has shown us that our ability to affect change in this game is nil. I unsubbed and am essentially venting my frustrations. But within a week, I won't be on this forum again. It's just how it goes.

And I have just followed suit. I can't justify paying for a subscription, where tons of phenomenal ideas get so easily brushed aside. Where a company implements a system that is punitive in nature with the intention of easing this pain by selling boosts, to the problem they created. I think that is one of my main reasons. Some of us still understand business ethics and EA/BW doesn't seem to care. 12/13/16 sub ends, glad I have month to month and that I wont get billed another months worth.

This new system flies in the face of the DvL event - Level all of these toons to get to max level and then launch a system that gives no incentive to take those other characters further then that. Because there is no way any rational person would attempt to get to further progress their gear (RNG: what a horrible implementation) so they can help fill whatever role is needed for Ops runs. EVEN though I have gotten GREAT items in 18 Command levels levels...most I know haven't, and they put in the same amount of play as I have, even more.

This game has provided me with the best guild I have ever been in, in any MMO I have played. Most have jumped ship to greener pastures. EA/BW Austin has left such a foul stench that I don't think I care to engage or trust another company with my income.

The utter disregard to the player base that keeps the lights on is despicable. And Stockholm Syndrome inst my style. If they allowed me more the 2k words to put in why I left i would have filled it out. They have been left is a plethora of reasons why I left. But,

the main one is Galactic Command and RNG
