  1. Not sure what the point of this post is other than an epeen flex. If a group of obviously top tier veterans using Voip did'nt curb stomp a group of randos, I would have been shocked. Not sure it did much for the GSF community, but that was a very quick time on the match. /Congrats
  2. The best "Aces" I have seen are the ones with great micro situational awareness and macro situational awareness. Many pilots can rack up a high kill count, but that doesn't always win games. I have flown with some of the best pilots, but the truly exceptional ones are the ones that check their egos.

    P.S Yes I am back.

  3. Hey Everyone,

I am a returning veteran (started in beta), and after a 2-2.5 year break and looking for a new guild on the Republic side. I am looking to be competitive in conquest, low drama, and some occasional GSF on the side. I have completed all story quests on both sides, but still currently do not have a level 70.

I am willing to help out when needed, but have odd hours of play (Tues-Sat 12A-4A EST, Sun-Mon all day depending on RL). I am currently playing on an alt to get back into the swing of things either respond here on my main Mintas (in-game).

    Thanks,

    M

  4. Good we agree. Just give out a fully geared ship or the equivalent coms to purchase 1 ship that is geared. That way I have a reasonable chance of not being farmed in the matches that feature clearly geared teams using voice coms and who have tons of matches played.

I am sure this is going to fall on deaf ears but what the heck. Actually you completely missed the point of my post. The point is giving you a fully equipped ship to you or anyone else without a match played would have zero impact on you getting rofl stomped. Just face the fact the every new person faces when starting GSF, you know nothing and your argument is invalid. The good news is if you give half the people on this forum a chance they would be more than willing to help you out.

Zero kills and spawn camped isn't my idea of a good way to start players in your game.

This is nobody's idea of a good time, but guess what, it does happen. I have been on the giving end and receiving end of these. Guess what you will survive, just que up for the next match. This is not a GSF exclusive concept it happens in every form of PVP in any game. If this isn't to your liking just go back to PVE.

Lets face it GSF is abandoned. Conceptually its a good idea, horribly implemented without resources to support it. Like any shooter just make everyone equal. This is a space shooter. Originally it was intended to operate like our pvp/pve. Its been abandoned. Just leave it the shooter. Give everyone geared out ship(s) and be done.

Why, you would get rofl stomped regardless, any new person would.

Knowing what a geared Gunship does vs. a Gunship with no upgrades is not fun and I am sure you do alright with a gunship. A stock fighter or stock Strike? Its like shooting spit balls.

Simply not true. It is lack of experience.

No one is going to play to level in GSF. Those of us who bothered on alts? I am annoyed. Oh great ungeared gunship. ungeared scout I don't want and ungeared strike. Which junk ship do I want to die in for this week. I pray for the oh... no one else has a geared ship.

Play like everyone and get some upgrades. Plenty of great pilots have put some guides together so you won't waste and req like we did in the beginning.

I'm sure we'd lose to the geared team. They play gsf. At least this would give those of us who have played as well a chance to help and maybe get a satellite and hold it so they cannot just farm the entire team.

This makes zero sense, you do not play as well, and you should lose.

Just putting it out their gsf moderator. You roll un geared in que on an alt. You should go against a geared team around 11pm eastern. Then rate your new player experience.

I'd give it a 1 out 5. Its too bad as GSF is ok once you have a descent ship. I wouldn't call it good or fun a lot of times, but its a space flight sim with star wars themes. As is with the gearing of ships?

Oh and I freely attempt to suiciding. I ask others to do it as well when I see the obvious guilded gsf players. I'd rather end the match fast in team death match then be farmed. Its like a lvl 10 in a lvl 65 wz. Ok. No shot. Just lose fast so we can get another match. Its better than trying to get a gsf queue to pop again.

You give up, and this is why you fail.

  5. The problem is GSF penalizes anyone willing to give it a try with unbalanced teams of veteran grouped pilots in geared ships against players who literally have a basic ship. Frankly, GSF needs to grant everyone 1 ship that is Tier 3 to start. They can pick it. Or make the unlocks account wide. I'm literally enter matches that are auto lost based on no one on the team having anything but a starter ship.

They have to do something if they are going to keep pushing people to try GSF. I'd just say everyone gets everything unlocked. This notion of scaled balanced GSF is bad. At least give people the illusion they have a chance.

You can give a new player all the ships they want, it will not make a difference. You have to play in order to get good. I played 5 matches on a new toon for this event in a stock ship and topped the boards in 4 out of matches. Being competitive has very little to do with ships.

  6. To the original poster,

Why do you care? You got the price you were asking for. This is a free market economy, and as such the person reselling the dyes is artificially manipulating the market for impulse shoppers. If you do not care for this tactic, then just manipulate it back. The value of an item is generally not determined by the seller but by the consumer. No one is forced to buy anything as long as they have the time to make or trade for the item they want.

This practice happens in the real world all day long whether it be oil, diamonds, etc.

Just as an FYI- I am not the person doing this. I just believe in an expanded scope of the economy.

  7. Just fix this part of the game. I suggest firing everybody that had anything to do with GSF and the orginal "space combat" (though I think they already fired the orginals). Please make a decent space combat add on for the game. I know, you won't pay any attention to this, but I feel better for having vented. While your at it, try adding some customer service...my god, why am I stupid enough to keep giving you money; now I'm totally depressed. I knew I shouldn't have thought about this.

While I can appreciate a decent nerd rage like anyone else, "fix it" is not a solution. At least suggest something as a solution...

  8. Couldn't agree more. My message at the start of any pug match is, "Fly near the sats do not get drawn away." This is not for the vets with good situational awareness but the newer pilots. I can't even count how many matches I have lost by the big fighter ball in the middle of B.F.E.

Most pilots respond well to this direction but it can still equate to herding kittens.

  9. So first off I am fairly new to GSF and while I pick things up fairly quickly, I am struggling with tactics on how to deal with teams of gunships especially during TDM, any help would be great, ty!

Second, I wanted to conduct kind of a informal survey on what people would want out of GSF:

1.what kinds of game modes for both PVP and any potential PVE there might be, like CTF or capital ship destruction, or whatever

    2. what components/ ships would you like to see changed (buffs, nerfs, straight changes) please go into detail of why

    3. what do you think would be the best thing for GSF QoL whether it be something like cross-server queues, PVE GSF, new game modes, banana boat, or whatever.

    4. what do you think the biggest detriment to this game mode is (I know this can be a topic of soreness, but please keep it brief)

    TY for your co-operation

    1) I would like to see an attack/defend scenario (1 point/ not three) with each side rotating. Maybe a capital ship theme.

    2) I think the overall balance is good other than some bug fixes and improving some of the non-useful weapon choices. This is in addition to improving the T1 and T2 strikes.

    3) Cross-server ques are needed, but the biggest QoL is Bioware actually adding content or even paying attention to GSF. The longer this aspect of the game goes without attention the more the gap increases between new players and vets.

    4) See answer three

I personally find GSF to be the most exciting part of the game currently. The problem is the lack of attention paid to it by Bioware. I currently have 3/4 of a bank tab filled with weekly ship req tokens. This is a lot of weeks at maxed ships with nothing new to spend it on.

    Just my 2 creds

  10. Couldn't get on the forums all day, but I wanted to give a shout-out to everyone who participated in the impromptu super serious night yesterday. Basically it was an 8-man Xi'ao-led premade impside (or so I was told), versus a bunch of random guys pubside: despon, tune, yallia, vexxial, siraka...more I think, I can't remember (and I don't know everyone's alts) so don't feel slighted if I missed you.

I think we took 3 out of 4, or something like that, before my PC caught a bad case of the DCs and I had to bail. But those were some of the most entertaining games I've played in a while, even in my largely stock ships. Thanks to all involved. Let's do it again sometime.

It was a lot of fun last. I agree I haven't played a lot of truly competitive games recently. Time to step up the game. I normally run Mintas pubside and Mintrix impside if you ever need a wingman.

  11. I always try to make sure names I recognize get a warm welcome :) On pub side I'm flying as Yria. Xi'ao on impside (no accents!). I'm usually on later than 9pm EST.

And yeah when Tomm came over he was maxed and it was a blast (terrifying but hugely fun to run vs burst damage like that). I didn't know what you'd be packing so might have been a tad bit attack doggy :D.

You mean you are not Xiao'sgonepub...WHAT?!?!

  12. As long as crafting is in conquest it will always be easier to throw up insane numbers than any other activity. A majority of players have a multitude of alts. If those alts have crafting skills then you can exponentially increase your conquest point production. In order for crafting to be a non-factor you would have to completely eliminate any type of reward for crafting.

Almost every "Total War" week I provide a vast majority of my guilds points through crafting and several well stocked banks of mats.:)
