  1. You're calling your own thread a good read?

I'm curious as to why you chose to play on an east coast American server, instead of west coast.

Called it a good read because it brings the attention of people like you.

Also when SWTOR was releasing I never knew Swiftsure was the unofficial Oceanic server, instead I got placed on a server because of the guild I was in who claimed they were going to be a #1 PvP Guild. It was only after everyone was 50 and we started to PvP that I realised that everyone was a fake Gladiator and they pressed their S key more than W.

  2. Patch 1.3 along with Pre-Season has been out for 4 weeks now and although a lot of you think I am impatient, I am wondering what kind of time frame we are looking at for Season 1. This is for 2 reasons, and for 2 reasons only:

    1. Solo Ranked queuing HAS to come quickly. Needing 8 players before you can even queue is insane. I thought the smart thing to do would be to introduce Solo queuing for Ranked in Pre-Season so that people could go in and meet different people, play with them and maybe decide 'hey I like the way you play, wanna group up for next one' etc etc until they start their own team.

    2. Cross Server Queuing - This is something a lot of the US and EU servers will overlook. Ever since the transfers you guys have been very well off after a number of months of being on the lower end of things. I used to be on a very under populated US PvP server and I know how it felt. Especially playing on an East Coast server and being from Australia.

This is how the servers stand at the moment:

US servers have gone from 123 servers to 12 which is amazing.

EU servers have gone from 91 servers to 11 which is also sweet.

You can tell from those stats alone how much more populated each of these servers would be.

Then there is Asia Pacific sitting at 3. Where breaking 200 people on fleet is something to cheer about. Yes having the ping makes it awesome to play. I get <50ms playing on Asia Pacific servers compared to 250+ on US, but myself and others are wondering if the latency is worth having for the population. There has been talk among our guild and with some other players of trying to get transferred to 1 of the Asia Pacific servers and ditching the other 2 just so we could have 1 big populated server. The PvP and PvE server needs to be merged, it is as simple as that. Or bring out Cross Server Queuing ASAP.

Currently as a guild we have played in 70 Ranked Warzone games. Over the last 4 weeks we have queued every night that is not Tuesday, Friday, Saturday. Usually from 8pm to 11pm. Simple maths shows that on average we play a new game every 40minutes. If you take away the average play time of 15minutes per game, that means we wait in queue for 25minutes on average to play 1 game. I just wanted to do a breakdown to show how bad our situation currently is. I thought we may be waiting until 1.4 for Season 1 to start along with Cross Server queuing, but someone said to me that it may be possible that it could be longer and more so closer to the end of the year.

I have gone on for quite a bit here and could talk a lot more about it, but I just know this won't even get anywhere. This is not a QQ post but just plain facts being brought forward for Bioware and everyone else to see.

  3. Hello everyone! We have been diligently monitoring reports of players who become "stuck dead," and most were resolved with Game Update 1.3. However, last night's patch also addressed an issue that could cause this.

If you experience any further instances where you are unable to resurrect after death (this is not limited to Warzones), please post in this thread with absolutely as much detail as possible. Please try to ensure that you include your Advanced Class, server, location, and what happened when you became stuck.

Thank you all for your reports and patience while we work to ensure there's a resolution for this.

This happened last night to one of our members during a Ranked Warzone match. I'll get him to post later but I'll say something on his behalf now. Here is the info for him:

    Advanced Class: Powertech

    Server: Master Dar'Nala

    Location: Voidstar

This happened mid way through the first round of voidstar during a Ranked Warzone match. He was either knockbacked/stunned then died and was no able to move once in the spawn. We tried using a Sorcerer to pull him out but were unsuccessful. Because he timed out of the game, multiple issues arrived. He lost 22 rating because of the bug by no fault of his own and also we had 7 players for more than half the game. We went on to still win that game, gaining 11 Rating in the process. He is now 33 Rating behind us because of something that should not have happened. He is not happy at all, neither are we.

On a side note, I personally think you need to remove the inactive debuff for players who play in a Ranked Warzone. I think it's silly and not needed. If a person leaves, you can't replace them, so why not just let them stay regardless of how long they are in the spawn.

  4. It does tell you, if there are no schemes to learn it says so in the tooltip in place of the chance to get a schematic.

Are you sure? I'm not talking when you have the schematic and then right click it then it says you already know it. I'm talking prior to buying it on the actual schematic itself so you don't waste your credits or commendations when you already have it.

  5. This has most likely been said over the months as something that players are looking for, but I think that there really should be a little message that appears on a plan/schematic that tells you if you have learnt that schematic already. I don't think it is too much to ask for, seems like it would be a little thing that wouldn't be hard to implement. I know a few of you will say don't be lazy, but when you have a lot of different schematics learnt it sometimes does become hard to manage and remember. Would be good to see a dev post on this and their thoughts if it is something we can look forward to in the future. Thanks.
  6. Hey everyone, as of a week ago I have started to stream gameplay from myself and others from my guild <Offline>. We reside on the Asia Pacific server Master Dar'Nala. I basically stream whenver I am online. We are considered the top PvP guild on the server, so come check us out. Feel free to ask any questions, I am always open to helping people out if they need it.

    Thanks.

  7. Hey just wanted to post this for people that may be interested. Since the weekend I have started to do live streams when I play the game. I've noticed not many Oceanic players stream this game so I thought I would start. I am a Sith Assassin currently ranked Conqueror. Residing on Master Dar'Nala (Asia Pacific server). Most of it is top end PvP, but I do other things from time to time. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. Be sure to subscribe/follow!

    Thanks.

  9. Dude I'm 12/83 BM bags. People need to quit complaining after only opening a dozen or two. I am valor 69 and am still missing an off-hand, helmet, & relic. Now that is some ****** luck. F U B I O W A R E !

I can assure you I have opened 'a dozen or two'. I'm currently an Aussie playing on an East Coast server. I get lucky to finish my WZ daily each day. I've stopped PvPing for 'fun' because it's not. So the only time I get valor is when I do my WZ daily. I collect boxes when everyone is asleep to finish my Ilum daily. This just shows how little Valor I have been receiving, yet how many Battlemaster bags I would have opened.

I just really hope that ranked warzones will be different and not rng based.

  10. You have what, a 1% difference between champion and bm and in some cases, the raw champion stats are much more useful than the battlemaster... (talking about power/surge).

I have over 700 Champion tokens, I can just buy those pieces and rip out the Enhancements. Also I'm Surge capped anyway and I don't really need crit as the spec I am. So yeaaa...

  11. It's just so annoying seeing kids run around in more Battlemaster than me when they are terrible players. Looks like I am going to just have to farm Warzones and get 1 Battlemaster Comm that way...

Btw I have opened 90% of my bags in a Warzone, does not help 1 bit.

  12. Ok so I am now Valor Rank 66 and I have 2 pieces of Battlemaster gear (total of 6 Battlemaster commendations). My friend just hit Valor Rank 60 and handed in his dailies/weeklies, opened 4 bags and got 3 Battlemaster Commendations. I know it's supposed to be 25% but something seriously has got to give. I know rng is bad, but it honestly can't be this bad.

Bioware are you 100% sure that there is no way that these bags could be bugged? Because I'm so tired of seeing people Valor Rank 63 and be full BM gear, it is ridiculous.

  13. Since some of you guys are lazy:

"Players who have already begun their journey will also have a limited-time opportunity to migrate their characters from their current servers to Asia Pacific servers after the launch on March 1st, giving them the chance to take advantage of the decreased network latency by playing on a regional server. All players who qualify for a character transfer will be notified in early March with more details."

It was on the front page.

"Players in these countries who currently have or have had an active Star Wars: The Old Republic account prior to February 28, 2012 will have the opportunity to request a free character transfer for a limited time to an Asia Pacific server after the launch on March 1, 2012. All players who qualify for a character transfer will be notified in early March with more details."

    Source: http://www.swtor.com/news/press-release/20120214

This indicates that if you are from Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong or Singapore, you will be getting a free character transfer. No other player outside of those areas will get a free character transfer. At least that is what I got out of it.

Also for those complaining what happens when all the Oceanic players leave Swiftsure, I say bad luck. I am currently on a server where if I don't get home and quickly finish my PvP Daily within 1-2 hours, I won't get to finish it at all. That is if I'm lucky. You lot on Swiftsure have had it far too easy for too long while the rest of us suffer. I will be keeping an eye on how many people decide to transfer to the Oceanic servers, but I for one hope most do because I'm tired of not being able to PvE or PvP due to this timezone difference.

  14. What exactly is long though? When I fly to certain planets, I get a 20 to 30 second loading screen. It seems that people with less than quad core i7s have much longer to load.

I load at 30% instantly, then it sits there for at least 30-60seconds. No matter where I am. Whether it be loading into Ilum, Imperial Fleet or just my ship. They all take just as long as each other.

  15. Ok so it looks like I'm not the only one.

I have found that if I try to join a Warzone that has already started, by the time I actually enter and load in, I am kicked before I can exit the starting zone. It is ridiculous.

I have compared with other guildmates, and they don't seem to have a problem. Example tonight when we were raiding EV. Everyone entered the Operation at the same time, yet I was at least 30seconds behind everyone else loading in.

  16. Ah I haven't tried using that hotkey to check my FPS. But yeh I forgot to mention I live in Australia, but my computer clearly is built good enough to handle anything this game throws at it. Also I have 100mbps internet speed, which usually hovers around 86mbps, so that can't be the problem.

EDIT: Just did a speedtest and here were my results:

  17. Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone else is having trouble with their long loading screen times. When I first started playing the game, it was fine, but along the way it got worse. I think it started to get worse around after 1.1 patch hit. I will say though, around that time is when I started to use Windows Mode. It takes almost 1minute to load any screen that is a new zone. Most of my settings are on High, but I haven't changed them since launch, so I don't see how lowering them could help if it just got progressively worse.

My system specs are as followed:

    RAM: 8GB

    CPU: i5 2500k

    GPU: Radeon 6950

SWTOR is installed on a 128GB SSD

    Windows 7 64bit

If you guys have any idea, please let me know. Thanks.
