  1. Greetings,

Because C2-N2 and 2V-R8 can not use weapons their usefulness as a medic is hindered because they miss out the major power boost currently on weapons.

Now I know by design that C2-N2 and 2V-R8 are intended to be inferior in combat ;however, they already lack damage skills so isn't the lack of a MH slot item going a little too far?

Giving them the ability to use another generator in the MH would bump their medic ability to that of a normal companion but still keeps them inferior because they can't deal damage with it.

    Thank you,

  2.

In theory they should both run tor just fine, the custom non-dell though will run tor at high range graphical settings. as for the dell, id GUESS mid range on graphics, without physical testing.

  3. I have made a new build, stuck with power supple because i dont think i will be upgrading that much and when i put it in on the website it said it had calculated 479W

Thankyou for, help if this build turns out too much then i may need to down grade but hopefully not =]

Looks good ^_^ i have nothing to add!

  4. The solution, imho, would be to make all possible skins craftable, not to remove the crit factor. Or perhaps even to make augment slots transferable, much like there are extra gem sockets that can be added to gear in WOW. Because that's what augment slots are anyway.

But that is of course my own opinion. I happen to be quite looking forward to these upcoming changed. Different strokes for different folks. Can't please all the people all the time. Other clickés.

I would accept all customs gaining a augment slot, that would balanced as well.

  5. I do not.

In other games I've played the relationship between crafting and raiding/pvp was far stronger and it wasn't a problem. I'll use WOW as an example. In WOW there are sockets for gems on most top of the line gear. These gems come from crafting. There are also "enchants" that can be put on nearly every piece of gear that permanently boost their stats. These enchants also come from crafting. Once a gem or enchant is put on an item it cannot be taken off and put in another. Every single time you get an new piece of gear you need to socket and enchant it.

And the system works. It keeps crafting relevant, but isn't really much of a burden on the player because someone is always looking to sell you these gems and enchants and money is easy to come by.

The upcoming system for TOR is much much simpler than WOW's. You get one piece of crit orange gear for every armor slot and you can be set for life. You can keep it forever if you want to. You literally never have to replace it. You don't even need to replace the augments if you decide you want to change to a different look because they are removable.

You only need the skin once, after that what you put into the skin is completely up to you. You wanna fill it with raid quality mods go ahead, you want to fill it with pvp mods have at it. I would take this system over WOW's any day and WOW's wasn't a problem to begin with.

You argument has very little to do with making customs (oranges) critable crafting which is what you and me are discussing. All the points you make will work with any custom. Maybe i'm not clear? i want Customs from crafting, I DON'T want them critable because they will undermine the value of other customs.

The system already works the way you are speaking without critable customs because customs are everywhere and as you said you can keep them forever. The point here is that the custom system is the appearance system and to make one type of CUSTOM better than other is detrimental to the appearance system.

And here in lies the problem we are trying to settle in the 1st place, once you get that crited custom people won't want to ever give it up because its BIS, making all non-crited customs irrelevant and rarely used so everyone is back to cookiecutter with crited customs.

I like the system, but crited crafting Customs will unbalance the appearance system as a whole which is my point in all this.

  6. Crafting: this is where you go for the looks and augment slots. Can't get them anywhere else.

Ops: This is where you go for the raid-quality modifications and probably some other stuff as well (pets, mounts, titles) You can't get those anywhere else. Pretty much mandatory for a raider. Also happens to be the source for raid-exclusive crafting materials.

PvP: Same as Ops, but in PvP flavor. Pretty much mandatory for a PvP-er.

No idea what you're trying to get at. At some point, raiding becomes nearly mandatory for crafters, while crafting becomes nearly mandatory for raiders. Keywords: Nearly & Nearly. You CAN do without, and you CAN be viable without. Just maybe not optimal, but certainly viable.

Crafting is not the only customs in the game, each flash point has its own set of customs, com vender, random drops, the list goes on and on. On that note at the current time only customs craftable are for head\chest\and legs. All the non-customs are not appearance based because your stuck crafting them mainly for stats because you cant keep using them once you out level them. Whats your point? There are plenty of looks out there without crafting. Augment slots are crafting because the Main way to get augments is FROM slicing missions which is a part of crafting.

Ops Gear doesn't allow you to remove armoring at this point in time. which we already said. Making customs a waste of time for ops. but soon will be open for customs as mods will be removable.

My point is extactly that. Crafting and Ops shouldnt have to be joined as one ever, they are TWO different aspects of the game. For the same reason Ops don't drop pvp gear and pvp doesn't reward Ops Gear, they are two different things. Crafters can make things for PVP\Ops but it shouldn't be any better than what an Ops\PVP can get themselves.

  7. Yeah....just like the ingame VOIP Blizzard implemented in WoW. No one uses it. They didn't use it when it came out and they never started to.

If you started playing WoW a patch or two after it came out you probably don't even know that it exists.

Waste of dev time. Use Vent, mumble, TS, etc.

Did you test theirs? i sure did and the reason no one used it was because the data center and codec they used was insanely bad... you'd be talking and all a sudden your voice pitch would hit chipmunk for a few seconds and drop back. it was horrid.

  8. That won't be the case if (and I know this is a big if) they simply make every skin available as an orange schematic to the appropriate crafters.

Then the whole game revolves around crafting, it should be balanced to all three aspects, crafting, Ops, and PVP. All should have a spot and none should be superior.

This is my opinion-point: making customs critable crafting has far more cons and breaks far more game play that requires more fixes and more time than just leaving them non critable. Do you agree with this statement?

  9. As others have said they should be working fine together once patch 1.2 hits.

In fact transferring all your epic gear into orange gear will not only be a cosmetic choice it will be necessary to remain competitive. Crafted orange gear will be able to crit and gain an augment slot. That's an additional 28 stats on every single piece of armor. Well over 200 extra points to you primary stat or whatever stat you choose to increase in total.

This change infuriates me, because it only breaks what they are trying to fix, instead of everyone looking the same in TIER gear they will now all look the same in CRAFTED gear. they are only shifting one cookiecutter to another. It should all be equal to promote choice!

  10. Don't add an Appearance tab, there is a system in place that already DOES THIS so just fix it because it broken atm.

AKA CUSTOMS are an amazing in depth appearance system, they just need to make it better (adding more customs, making Obs\pvp Gear Custom and allow the armor\mod\echancement\etc. to be removed from Gear WITHOUT a price at a work bench or making the good armoring\mods\enhancements\etc purchasable\craftable )

The system is already there, it just needs some TLC

TLDR: Fix the Customs System and BAM awesome appearance for everyone.

  11. I run 3 x 64 GB SSD's in raid5 wich = 2 in raid0 with a backup and i get about a 12 sec boot from dead to ready and yes makes really no differance in SWTOR.

    i5 2500K @ 4.2GHz

    8GB memory

    Gigabyte Z68

    6970 @950/1425

    3x 64GB SSD's raid5

    2x CB 1TB HDD's raid1

    Thank you for the confirmation.

  12. I am not very good with computers and i have done my best to learn. I am wondering whether this is a good build to play swtor and the odd other game here and there? Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks =]

    My build is:

    Intel® Core™i7-2700k Quad Core (3.50GHz, 8MB Cache) + HD Graphics Check!

    ASUS® P8Z68-V LX: USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs, ATI®CrossFireX (Motherboard) Check!

16GB SAMSUNG DUAL-DDR3 1333MHz (4 X 4GB) Upgrade for performance: See if you can get some ram at least 1600MHZ your mobo can handle it.

1GB AMD RADEON™ HD6770 - DVI,HDMI,VGA - DX® 11 Upgrade for performance: If your going to do radion id say at least a 6800 series but take it even higher maybe a 6900 series if its in your budget.

1TB SATA-II 3-Gb/s HARD DRIVE WITH 32MB CACHE (7,200rpm) Upgrade for performance: try to get one that is a SATA III (6gb\s) or if your looking for crazy get a solid state drive (SSD) for insane load times (they are pretty expensive though). You can still use your 1TB as a slave. Note: your mobo has only 2 SATA III (6gb\s) slots (grey slots)

600W Quiet 80 PLUS Quad Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan Upgrade for performance: at least 700 watt is the new standard for these types of builds, 600 will work but future upgrades may wain on it.

COOLIT ECO II A.L.C ADVANCED LIQUID COOLER Check!

NZXT Sentry 2 Fan Controller with upto 5 Fitted Case Fans Check!

If i am doing something wrong please say. Thankyou for any responses =]

    Colored text in quote.

  13. I got an orange tech staff while leveling. I don't remember where it dropped but it does exist.

I am also sure that I saw a orange tech lade on the dromund Kaas commendation vendor.

The hilts are an issue but as it has been mention the strength ones work, increased damage, endurance and the the strength increase will still help. The aim/strength difference would be very marginal.

You saw ELETROSTAFFS im pretty sure which are the shadows of Double-Blade Lightsabers (and have willpower). I've looked and there is no modable techstaff on the DromKaas com vender.

  14. How does my char get that nice death-like pale-white face color? im at Dartk V, but all i get are red eyes and black crackles in the general face area :(

Can't believe nobody has mentioned this yet...

Make sure that the "Show Dark Side Corruption" is checked in the options. I believe it's on by default but that's something to double check.

See red, we know its on because of this. =)

  15. Kinda sounds like you're overreacting a little bit. He apologized for the roll, and if the thought was all that counts, that should have been the end of it. Period.

twisting my words is evil you know =(

Working in good customer service is what this does to ya =\

    For example,

Say you cant play SWTOR, your game is mess up the forums can't help and nothing you do has worked, you call customer service...it takes 3 days for them to figure out the issue and send you a fix. Now how are you going to feel if the rep just tell you "We are sorry you had this issue. take care". Wouldn't you be much happier if they refunded you those 3 days on your sub? maybe thrown in a few choice items for your trouble?

Like I said, it about making the person you crossed happy, because it was your fault.

  16. The guy had a legacy, I really doubt he needed credits that badly. He just wanted his rifle and reacted like an a**.

Any credits he'd get would be pocket change in a few levels. Whatever the stats are on the rifle, he would outgrow it in a few levels, which is a matter of a few hours. It was a huge overreaction.

"its the thought that counts" comes to mind, regardless of how easy it is you didn't take words from him you took an item and time. Words just don't cut it when dealing with people in these situations, actions speak far louder and its about making that person happy.

    Edits for mistakes!

  17. And what was he supposed to offer? He apologised. the other person ignored the apology and then waited to take revenge. What exactly was the OP supposed to do? Hack into the SWTOR server, find the other player's information and send him a stripogram?

I take it you didn't read all of my post as this question is answered already. But here ill repost it for you.

Had you both been mature about the situation you would have offered him credits as comp and he wouldn't have made a big deal out of it.

  18. Hello everyone,

This is just a little discussion I wanted to start up about players you've encountered.

You can see this thread as a "Stupid/Funny/Childish/Hatefull/Etc People" that you encountered either in this mmo or any other. Because sometimes I find the diversity in people amazing (and that isn't really a positive thing sometimes)

I would like to start this little thread with a story about a fellow I encountered today.

It was in Black Talon normal mode, me (Operative lvl 11) and two other guys/gals ( Mercenary lvl 11 and a Sniper lvl 12) where coasting trough BT without a problem, everyone had a legagy name so tactics where not needed. It was mostly a just zerg everything and no chitchat run.

So we down the last boss and this sniper rifle dropped, I wasn't really paying much attention and I was like; Damn nice stats! Ima need!. But a few seconds after the roll I realised I can't even use sniperrifles. So I apologised to the sniper for rolling aswell. Of course as luck would have it I won the roll.... I apologised again underlining that I didn't do it on purpose., but he didn't really reply. He just stood there doing nothing.

So I went on to the last quest guy to finish the fp; at this moment he removed me from the group forcing me out of the fp. This caused me to in a sense do BT for nothing as I couldn't finish the quest.... So I asked him why he was doing this; and he simply said: "You shouldn't have needed on that item". Bam and he went offline.

So for accidenlty taking an item he wanted he removed me from the group, voiding my quest progress in BT. Simply put he made me 'lose' 15-20 minutes of the time I put into the quest.

Was He right? In my opinion he was being childishly vindictive, and this has got to be one of the most hatefull (non-verbal) reactions I've had for making a mistake.

So now I'm wondering, how many of you had similar stories? Or to brighten my mood; who has encountered very nice people who restored your faith in humanity? :D

tl;dr Someone was acting childish. What kind of people have you encountered in your travels?

You was both being childish IMHO. Being an adult means taking responsibility, did you offer anything but words to em? Also you complain that he wasted your time because he removed you, well didn't you wasted his time as well by taking an item that should have been his due to your own carelessness?

Had you both been mature about the situation you would have offered him credits as comp and he wouldn't have made a big deal out of it.

  19. I had this happen to me several times, one time on tat I was able to escape it but it wouldn't reset and let me outa combat which left me unable to speeder, gather, etc etc. ended up just Alt-F4ering out. I was on my Knight.

My best guess from a troubleshooting perspective is the creature in question has a invalid Z cordnate and it is being forced under the world but still thinks its on the world and attacks as normal but because of the invalid Z it can't move and thus can not leash.

I've found on my trooper that M1-4X can kill these buggers because his cable tow somehow resets the Z and he whips them up and into the cold hands of driod death =P

  20. I recently built a whole new computer just to play swtor. And for this build I got a nice 64gig SATA III SSD to run the OS\Swtor\Important Programs. As my slave I have a 250gig SATA II.

I was very excited when my new machine hit 17 seconds from dead to desktop. But my happyness was shattered when I got Swtor installed and Reved it up only to still wait forever on a load screen at login. I saw a much better time going planet to planet. I have tripled checked that all my files are on the SSD and not on the HDD.

I run a 12meg connection that averages around 12.3meg 60-70 MS with no drops or slowdowns.

I tried several things thinking maybe something was wrong...but it wouldn't explain the better P To P load time. I ended up blaming bio for slow servers.

So my question is anyone else have an SSD and still have horrid login times?
