  1. Hello everyone! I have just recently picked up SWTOR after a very long break. My highest level character is level 55 from the Hutt Cartell if that says anything for how long I've been away.

It's practically a whole new game to me, I'm amazed at how fast it is to level up now, I'm looking forward to getting back in.

While I seriously enjoyed both End Game Operations, and PvP, first and foremost, RP is and always will be my focus. I enjoy going out into the world(s) and RPing out story lines and getting involved in character development. I'll RP casually in a cantina here and there occasionally, but cantina (bar) rp has never been my favorite thing, and imo it can get stale quite fast.

So I wanted to know where the RP hotspots were for both imperial and republic, I don't have a "main" anymore, but I did used to play a Sith Sorc pretty heavy back in the day.

I am also curious if there are any guilds out there recruiting. I'd like to be part of a guild that not only RPs but progresses content as well.

Feel free to add me on Discord, Caelinmarie#3616

P.S. I wrote this on my phone, and I'm very aware that the links in my signature no longer work. ^^

I really would like the RP flag. Main reason is that, if I want to rp I have to go to the Nar Shadda Cantina.

Well, my smuggler ICly hates Nar Shadda.

    My Inquisitor dosen't party

    My Agent dosen't drink

    My trooper is shy

My JK is losing her mind

My Consolar's personaltiy isn't made yet but she'd be sweet and not a drinker

    My SW... Okay, she'd go

My BH's pretty quiet and submissive

So if I want to RP, I can only rp on my SW without metaing. D= I want to see more World RP

  3. I agree with the social points thing. I am always grouped with my guild mates to pvp, and always the others who are PuGed are encouraged to call out incs, give strat ideas and so forth. And believe it or not, most of the friends I have made in SWTOR is through pvp.

I like the fact that you can get legacy points in WZ, but he has point in the credit system. If getting a legacy level does not atomaticly unlock these perks, then why are we getting so little cash from the warzones? I like to have my custom gear, and I would love to have those other perks such as the ship and portable droids, but it is unrealistic for the hardcore pvper in this game unless the amount of credits reward is bumped up to help us along the way.

  4. A suggestion, perhaps sometime in the future allow us to "paint" our own Corruption onto our characters face. It isn't right that everyone's corruption looks exactly the same. And I love the red eyes and the dark shadows but I'm not one for the veins on the face. It would be nice if we could "paint" our corruption to look how we want.

Perhaps a legacy + cartell + social level perk? Have a certain legacy and social level to be able to buy it with our cartell points? I wouldn't mind that.

  5. Speaking as someone who was set on having a smuggler before the class was even put up in the media trailers, it's the only class I've leveled up to 50 so far and I just loved it. There were parts that made me laugh

    I really really enjoyed it.

I'm a rper, and I played a rogue with a certain personality that changed for the worst as my friends and I were running out of RPing material in WoW. Finally I just stopped playing WoW a year before SWTOR came out, and I wanted my rogues orignal personality back.

Well, Smuggler that instantly hit me because my rogue she was a smuggler/outlaw of the WoW universe black market trading, sneaking around and spying on the Stormwind Guard for juicy details....

So I took my rogues personality and put it into someone completely new.

Meet Avidea Snocami one of the thousands of wanted women in the Star Wars universe, chased for the bounty on her head every day.

As in my Wiki page, she is supposed to wear light armor, so the cover mechanic is perfect for her, I love pressing my middle page scroll button on my mouse and finding myself rolling into cover, or kneeling down in cover as I do my keybind sequence and just knock those PvPers down from a high vantage point, or watch as Akavvi just tears my NPC enemies down.

I am just in love with Avidea, she is and probably will remain my favorite character. I'm trying to level up others, but their storys just don't reach up to par with the smugglers.

  6. Well, I am for one glad that I am away on vacation and wont be playing for some weeks to come. I miss the game sorely, I want to have an opinion and my only outlit is these fourms. So many haters, it reminds me of patch days when WoW was still going strong. Oh how do I miss those days, laughing at people raging for when down time went a few hours past what they promised. (I admit that I was niffed to, but I never complained!)

If I had acess to my PC right now and really wanted to play, I might be irritated. But it would give me a reason to read a book, go outside, do homework, clean my room. Have you people heard of the game of LIFE? It's a splendid little game that has downtime when you go to bed, has horrible moments and glitches. You make friends, you grind daily at work (or school) working your way to the top.

Everything has downtime, get over it. SWTOR is a great game and I especially like how much fun I had PvPing with people on my realm, and occasionaly getting both factions together in Illum for a good bashing, and then a peaceful group screenshot at the end!

    -------------------

I got off subject, anyway like I said I'm glad I'm not sitting at home downloading the patches and getting the game glitched and so forth, maybe everything will be sorted out when I come back home, yes?

  7. I saw this in a different thread, and I agree 100%. I figured that perhaps the devs could see this and give an opinion:

The new WZ rewards seem to be getting at the right idea (rewarding victory more than defeat), but seem to be approaching that idea without some key components.

First, most in this thread would seem to agree that there needs to be an incentive for participation in PvP, particularly in the 'losing effort' scenarios (especially in cases of 'late join-ins'), thus, there needs to be a floor for participation-based rewards; the 4 medal count seems to be a generally-acceptable benchmark.

Proposal: Set the reward for 4 Medals (winning or losing team) to 20 Comms (5/Comm). Thus, a player who only gets 4 Medals in a losing effort ends up with a base reward of 20 Comms.

Second, reward for additional contributions to the WZ should be taken into consideration, whether the team wins or loses. Even in the most severe beatdowns that have been levied against teams on my server (and, due to a significant population imbalance, this occurs with regularity), some of the most satisfying experiences are the matches where our team gives it their all, even when defeated, we can hold our heads high and know that we made our opponents earn their victory.

Proposal: For the winning team, Medals 5-8 would reward 15 Comms each, while, for the losing team, Medals 5-8 would reward 10 Comms each. At this point, a winning player with 8 Medals would end up with 80 Comms, while the losing player would end up with 60 Comms (thus, two players of roughly equal contribution to a match would end up with 60/80 Comms, with the winner having a 33% greater take than the loser, and winning a match takes on value). Finally, Medals above that 8 Medal threshold should offer some benefit, even if it is simply a massive amount of extra Valor; this would allow those that consistently achieve at the highest level to attain those upper Valor ranks more quickly, and display the titles that let them know they (usually) are among the PvP elite of their server.

Alternative Proposal: Keep the 'normal' Medal rewards as they are now (rewarded for up to 8, at 5 Comms per Medal), and make the Objective-based Medals reward their Comms separately, either at the 5/Medal rate or even increasing the rate to 10/Medal (thereby awarding an even greater incentive to give 100% effort, even in a 'losing scenario'). Even if I only get one or two Objective medals in a steamroll, if, combined with the 4+ normal Medals, and end up with ~50 Comms, it has been a successful match (from a strictly reward-oriented viewpoint, I much prefer to play to win, but giving maximum effort in a defeat can be nearly as satisfying, if I can see that the effort I exerted was suitably rewarded).

Finally, there MUST be a 'quitter' penalty instituted, or, even with the extra incentive of objective-based rewards, there will remain those players that choose to handicap their teammates by leaving a match (either at the start, especially in Huttball, or mid-match). Do I like to PuG and get my teeth kicked in by a pre-made for 10 matches in a row (usually early morning, when my own team is off-line)? No, and all but the most masochistic amongst us would likely agree; however, even in PuGs, I will give 100% effort, no matter how badly we are getting trounced, because I play for the fun... Reasonable rewards go hand-in-hand with that 'fun factor', however, as all the effort in the world is essentially meaningless when you have nothing to show for it.

(Note: As far as credits or XP go, I really don't keep track of those rewards, for winning or losing, even on my lowbies, but if it's true that a loss rewards little or none of either of those, that really should be addressed in a more balanced way, as the time investment in finishing a game is what really matters from a credit or XP standpoint, and winning might offer slightly higher rewards, but losing should not punish these two components.)

    Just my 2 EC,

    -BRJ

  8. I'm glad to see that there is still reasonable and greatful people out there who don't expect to be given everything at the first fit they throw. I salute you OP and everone like you, look forward to befriending you in game and ignoreing the little seven year olds who scream and cry and bang their fists on the floor untill they get what they want.
