  1. Minimum req for doing those quests is to be level 45, and is reflected so. It is also legacy bound and faction bound.

Gold Scalene is lvl 1, and is not legacy bound or faction bound. this is in fact the offical. "im to lazy to do dailies, here is 15$" version. all respects to it, but that is true.

Very true, just surprised this is the first legacy armor set from a quest line that has such a high min level to equip, just don't get why but oh well, motivation to get my scoundrel up to lv 45 sooner. :)

  2. stable world pvp. read my title please. and we also want reward per kill and dailies. DON'T YOU HAVE DAILIES IN 4 LOCATIONS? BH, Ilum, belsavis and section x? we only have 1 daily and 1 weekly

also you have group finder and raids and more stuff

What's more stable than a PVP server??? it's always pvp enabled and happens anywhere you run across opposing faction.. guess I"m totally missing what you're asking for...

  3. If you remember, ilum used to have kill quest dailies. people just kill traded. you can't force people to WPvP. either they do it or they won't. When rewards are involved, people will always take the quickest, most efficient route to those rewards.

Well said, also (and forgive me if I'm missing a glaringly obvious point) but aren't PVP servers all open world pvp? If people want world pvp why don't they roll on a pvp server?

  4. Gear grind in a hampster wheel style is never important. Staying about one level below max is typically easy AND let's you fully participate in any content you want to do. Any group that requires you to already be dressed in the gear that drops in that fp/op is not one worth joining. It's normally a clear sign they aren't really very good.

Where have you been all my SWTOR life? I <3 this response! :D

  5. You ever play WoW? The patch before MoP introduced the content that will be brought to you in the expansion. But nobody could access the higher levels yet or the new areas. Just the talents. This is not new to mmos.

Well said, people also forget WoW was out for three years before getting an expansion, SWTOR will have been out just over a year and we get a $10 expansion? I'm happy! :D I've had my issues with BioWare but the game is still young for an MMO, I'm in this for the long haul. :D

  6. I've just visited the LotRO forums, where the original 24 hour maintenance has run into its third day. The community is being so pleasantly patient about the downtime, it really shows how bad we are as a community.

I only did the pre-access trial for LotRO, but I'd wager the majority of them have had a vastly superior experience with customer service than many of us have had with Bioware, I know there's always some who will never be happy but I think the majority of comments lately are just a result of some really bad customer service experiences. I'm a fan of Bioware and this game overall, but they've got a long way to earning back player good will sadly.

    I've never had that problem

I've had this problem since 1.5 I think? Also if you have your companion out and try to inspect another player's gear, it just shows all your gear on them. The issue with viewing gear on companions is even worse with Jaesa, since I had her go dark she's got a "permanent" customization I can't remove so she doesn't even show up in the companion viewer, and the only companion I can get to display is Vette.

I just feel for the OP. I get bugs happen in MMOs and fixes can take time, but when Bioware takes the server down and fixes (well not really as there's STILL issues with priority transport: personal Starship) an issue that wasn't a frustration to customers at all and then creates a new bug that is as a result, you can understand why so many customers are finally getting fed up.

  8. Back when a night of playing went something like this.....

    *clipped*

Nobody had a full set of purple level 51 mods in their gear when they started doing HM

Amen and nobody knew the fights, I wonder how many people miss out on end game content because of all the "Must be geared and know the fights" I have seem some groups/guilds offering to help and that are a lot more casual player friendly, I still haven't done a single hardmode or Ops despite having 7 50s because of all the horror stories I hear from other players about their experience.

I'm thinking I may start queing for some non-HM fps and get the hang of tanking/healing a group and see how it goes, I'd love to finally upgrade my tionese and would enjoy doing some FPs and Ops I haven't experienced.

  9. Clone War Adventures vs. SWTOR

    1. It is far harder to level SWTOR than WoW. However, things have been getting easier with the Cartel shop. Best Example? At one point, Bioware actual gave people 30 days of gaming if they made it to 50. I know many of you will scream at the top of your lungs, Leveling is Soooo easy. Compared to WoW, it's not easy. This is actually one of the guy's main and repeated complaints.

It's all relative and depends on a player's skills, I hate when people find a game easy or hard and think it should be the same for everyone, people have different level of gaming skills and some come from other games or genres and have a learning curve to adapt to.

My first mmo was SWG, I almost quit before my first 30 days was up, I was finding it all too frustrating. Suddenly a Mon Cal Doc (so wish I rmembered his name...) offered some help, next thing I knew we were forming a group of 4 and I absolutely fell in LOVE with that game.

To the OP I have to say, TOR is much the same in that regard, it is INFINITELY more enjoyable when playing with others, please try to find groups and make some online friends if you don't know anyone, it will make this game a blast!

    1. The community is the same group of people who play these games. And yes, no real interaction occurs until max level.

This has not been my experience, I've found plenty of people willing to group, and work together at lower levels, had add requests and have requested to add friends after a great FP or heroic run, player interaction may not be as high as it was in SWG or games like EverQuest but it is there. The game is young I look forward to seeing a community build and grow. (fingers and toes crossed)

  10. I am sad. I want the new Trailblazer jacket model back.

It's still in the packs (crime lord's was it?) and still on the GTN, they just put the "classic" look in the new packs and anyone that had the new versions equipped, on a companion, or in their inventory or cargo hold, got a free classic version of the piece, wish I'd been able to snag some phantom chests but have a bunch of trailblazer lol.

  11. I said it before in this thread, and I'll say it again. In fact, I'll say it until I"m blue in the face. The problem here is not BioWare. It's everyone that flocked to the Empire and borked the faction balance.*clipeed*.

It actually is partially BioWare's they made so many of the combat moves and certainly 99.9% of the armor look cooler on the Imp side. To the point they even put a joke in the game with a line they gave Kira (Knight companion) "Have you seen what the Sith are wearing? It's like every fashion designer in the galaxy joined the Empire!" It's pretty sad when you know you've blatantly made one side look MUCH "cooler" than the other to the point you even put a wisecrack about it in the game. Skill wise both sides are now pretty balanced and I have toons on both factions, but no denying for the most part, playing an Imp is a much more visually satisfying experience, the consular gear all looks like some kind of horrific renn fair rejected designs.

  12. That's pretty lame. Why would you disrupt your own faction? What happens when you are are both half-dead from fighting and the opposing faction shows up?

    That's just stupid.

Agreed and the people doing this are almost always angry teen males that enjoy ganking other players, they don't care about a challenge, they just enjoy beating other players up, saw it in the Rakghoul events with lv 50's in full pvp gear hoping on their lv 3 speeders and running down level 20-30's doing the quests on Tat.

  13. *clipped*How this for conspiracy talk. Maybe they chose TOR because it was far less known and they could sneak non-star wars stuff into a star wars universe.

I think they definitely have and will continue to work in little (and not so little as you pointed about about the hypergates/gree and similarities to Stargate and their Ancients) nods to sci-fi influences. Yes one of the speeders looks like that 80's Flash Gordon flyer and the imperial droids on fleet and elsewhere look very similar to early versions of cylons.

I don't mind at all so long as they eventually give us more Star Wars content which will likely be in future chapters once that eventually (no rush I know story writing and all the voice acting alone will take some time) arrive. Till then I'll just keep an eye out for any other sci-fi references they work into the game :D

  14. I can't login until later - did they provide the paid for outfits as promised?

Yes I logged in this morning and I had a bunch of the "classic" armor in the mail, only thing I'm not sure and didn't have time to check is if it checked gear on companions and in bank, I think it did because I believe I have Despot's Leggings on Quinn and had a pair of the classic leggings in the mail.

I didn't get to check the gtn but imagine it's flooded lol. I'd forgotten how much cleaner the "classic" preceptor's headband looked and was glad to get one back.

  15. Restricting loot rolls not only makes a lot of people annoyed it actually doesn't solve the problem in the first place! People will be annoyed because they may be looking for certain mods, or a certain look, or gear for companions, or crafting materials, or they like the name/icon of the item or any other reason under the sun. To me any of those reasons are valid to need on an item. I am not saying that they are more important than gearing up but the option should exist for having a reasonable shot at the item. As for solving problems this proposal simply doesn't stand up. Consider a dread guard geared marauder rolling need on a medium armor strength columi item. Oops the system just failed at it's goal. Ok so now we include an item level check. But of course we have all seen where the next tiers itemization makes it worse than the current tier. So now the poor marauder is stuck with a higher item level crappy gear and can't roll on a better one. It would also be impossible to "side-grade" for a different itemization.

I have to disagree, "Liking the name or look of a piece of gear" does not qualify for needing when someone in the group has a spec that can use it and it is an upgrade for them. The option DOES exist for having a resonable shot at gear if those are your goals, group with friends or start a group with the intention of getting said gear, rather than joining a group and needing on something for purely superficial or roleplay reasons when a group member can actually use it and benefit from it.

As for creating more loot roll options, well this quickly turns into a mess. Is main-toon off-spec higher priority than third-alt main-spec? What about second-alt off-spec vs. main-toon companion. Yuck! Keep me out of that mess.

I think you're taking the priority roll suggestion way too far, I don't know of any game that takes it to the levels you're suggesting here, the system looks at your current class/specialization and allows you to roll need if the gear matches it, solves a lot of the current issues and if nobody needs it everyone can just greed on it, simple and efficient.

  16. I enjoyed it. Its not as dark (obviously) as the warrior side (and I have done both) but it still has its twists and moral dilemmas.

I've got a 50 Sentinel (full LS) and a 50 Guardian (full DS) as well as a Juggernaut (LS) and Mara (DS), trust me if you play a "Dark Jedi" from the start, the Knight storyline is every bit as dark as the SW story and had some serious jaw dropping twists from the LS storyline. Still haven't decided if I'll try and redeem the guardian in future chapters or keep going down the dark path. :D

  17. I'm still a little annoyed the chevin event only lasted a week *clipped*

I agree, I think 2 weeks is reasonable for a "limited" event, one week (especially when you have to farm event coms) is a bit short considering most people have a lot going on RL. Having said that I was really hoping the rakghoul thing would become annual, it could pop up anywhere in the galaxy and was a great idea.

  18. Admittedly, I haven't touched my Commando since late January, due to the fact that I could see the train wreck that was coming later on. Once people figured out how to play their classes well, especially melee, it was apparent that DPS mercs/commandos would be at the bottom of the food chain.

    *clipped*

Just a question, but could it be because Bioware wants these classes to focus on healing rather than dps? There are more than enough dps classes in this game, why does everyone seem to want EVERY class to be tops in dps? I have a merc and have always been healer spec'd, I don't want to dps on her and if I rolled a commando it'd be to heal too. I want to dps I'll get on my Marauder, my sentinel, or I'll roll a sniper/gunslinger.
