  1. The day they add combat Macros is the day skill based competitive PvP dies in SWTOR and is replaced with unskilled button mashing Macro PvP. A players skill will be tossed out the window and replaced with who can wright the best Macros.

Oh you mean how gaming mice/keyboards did the same thing?

Whoever has the easiest keybinds wins, player skill is irrelevant. A player forced to use two or more modifiers is at a supreme disadvantage to those who only have to use one or none at all.

  2. Honestly just being able to tie by Relic on-use and my other off-the-GCD DPS cooldowns together so they are popped at the same time would be the only thing I would use macros for.

In WoW this was the only real use of macros for me. Being able to sync those different abilities to pop at the same time would allow for a much cleaner and efficient burst phase in PvP or allow me to do maximum potential on a burn phase on a boss.

Macros are not bad at all. The only one I believe is poisonous is the /castsequence macros. These should never be allowed, but being able to tie a couple difference off-GCD abilities to one keybind to free up some space would allow for a much smoother experience.

  3. You know nothing about me other than I'm against people exploiting lag-teleport to instantly appear on opposite sides of casters over and over for free interrupts.

    Get out.

This never happened at high levels of play in WoW arena unless you or the enemy had horrendous internet. In this case it's the fault of the player, not the game.

Like I said, you know nothing about WoW arena.

Also, lol@"get out" Who do you think you are?

  4. Arenas are great fun if balance is good.

People who don't like arenas are bad. End of story. That level of teamwork and coordination simply can't be matched by other forms of MMO PvP.

I don't agree with giving them higher levels of gear, should be simply mounts, titles, etc.

The problem is I am not sure Bioware can handle the monster of balancing issues. It would take a lot of time and dedicated resources from the PvP team but if they did it correctly Arena would be a huge hit.

  5. Keep playing WoW Arena if you want to abuse client-server lag to 'teleport' around the caster class for free interrupts.

This is SW:TOR, and you have to use your abilities to interrupt, not lag.

Yep, lag was the determining factor in Arena matches. Ranged was just SO UNDERPOWERED because of this.

Oh wait, you know nothing about WoW arena and feel the need to bash it for no reason.

  6. No more comments ? :)

    Pretty meh video.

Music was bad (Overused Duke Nukem track almost made me turn off video immediately), gameplay was OK (Too early to really show some good fights with so little people in top gear), and pacing was god awful.

The speeding up is not really good for PvP videos, better to show multiple clips from various games in different warzones rather than show one game with sped up sections, it makes the video pretty boring overall and doesn't really hold attention. Try to edit better and turn off the ingame sound... why did you think this was a good idea?

inb4 "Y U NO MAEK WON BETTER HERPDERP?"

  7. Or stop being lazy. Go and actually farm some to get gear.

People seriously want to get everything right away. Where's the satisfaction after actually getting your gear?

    Not the complaint people have.

It's the randomness that we have a problem with.

I would grind for days and days for gear if I had a clear goal ahead of me. Instead, you get centurion and have to pray to the RNG gods to move up to the next tier.

But that's ok, baseless insults about players being lazy or the "LOL THIS GENERATION SUXORZ" argument is the way to go

  8. I noticed an immense change in Warzones.

Abilities actually fire off almost every single time. They only time they don't is if you/your enemy is lagging badly and everyone is teleporting around.

It had definitely made this game a lot more enjoyable for me. If you want to really test it, try out a warzone if you did them before the patch, you will notice abilites work a lot better and even the animations seem to blend together for a smoother experience.

  9.

    1) Heat Signature. Talented, we need to fire 3 Tracer Missile to get 5 Heat Signature.

Heat Signature gives us a +15% damage bonus to Heatseeking Missiles. So we must

spam Tracer Missile at least 3 times to get this. Heatseeking missiles is on a 1 min

    cooldown.

    4) Our other high damage dealers (heatseeking missiles, rail shot and unload) all have

cooldowns. HS missiles is 1 minute and the other 2 are 15 sec each. Once our tracer

lock and heat signatures are stacked, we have to fire tracer missiles over and over to

reproc Barrage, or as we wait for the 15 sec/1min cooldowns on our other abilities,

throwing some rapid shots (low damage dealing compared to our other abilites) in

    there to manage our heat.

You claim this is an "education thread" when you don't even know how your own abilities work.

    5% per application of heat signature X 5 = 25% damage boost

Heat Seeking Missiles has a 15 second CD

This is why we want the class nerfed. People like OP try to "educate" us on why their class is not OP and then give false information because they can't even defend how derp-proof the class is.

  10. As an aside, what are your specs? Be as specific as possible. What kind of 3rd party junk do you have running? How many processess floating around?

My machine (Hexacore "Westmere" Xeon @ 3.06 Ghz, Radeon 5870, 12GB of FB-DDR3 - a Mac Pro) has never had an issue with the game at any time. I get a solid 120 fps in every place but the fleet (i never disable vsync, as screen tearing makes me want to punch kittens).

My wife's machine (a 'handmedown' Mac Pro - 2x Woodcrest Xeon @ 2.66Ghz, 8GB of FB-DDR2, Radeon 4870) also runs the game flawlessly. She gets a solid 60fps everywhere except fleet.

my brother in laws machine (home built PC, cant be too sure on specific parts), sporting a Core i5 2500k, Radeon 6870, 8GB of RAM, an SSD Boot Drive that also contains SWTOR.. a pretty decent gaming rig...

    gets awful, awful performance.

He's also a "computer expert", of course, and it's stuffed full of a billion and one third party apps. I suggested he partition one of his drives and make a clean install of Win 7 and the game.

    Guess what?

His performance issues cleared right up.

    Moral of the story:

dont assume the problem isnt on your end.

    Phenom X4 II @3.6

    4 GB RAM

    GTX 560

~20 or so processes running in taskmanager at any given time, desktop animations off, compatibility mode on, basic windows mode, etc. Basically running everything to the minimum except for the occasional monitoring program. Graphics set to absolute minimum, still get a 10-15 FPS slideshow in warzones. Fresh install about a week or so ago to see if that would clear it up. Tried multiple versions of my nvidia drivers, etc.

Problem is not on my end.

  11. You can say "have patience" all you want.

You can explain the painstaking process of bug-fixing

You can attempt to tell us they are working on it and changes are already in the works.

You can say all you want about how long it might take for their team to isolate and eliminate this glitch.

Sadly, none of these will hold subscribers like you think they will. Those of you without this problem, I envy you. Those of us with it (especially melee) are having to struggle to play PvP and hope it gets better soon. If there is not a fix long after the end of the first month, a lot of people won't be coming back.

I understand the issue may take a long time to solve, but I'm obviously not going to pay for that time, and neither will a lot of us.

I love this game more than any other I've laid my hands on in 15+ years of gaming, I just want PvP to not be such a bug-ridden, FPS-lagging, glitch-fest. I will probably resub for another month, if there is not a fix by then I am not sure I will be able to force myself to play.

  12. Oh man... My favorite part of this video is around 11:10 when you almost get killed by a tracer missile spamming merc and both Force Kick and Force Stasis are on CD.

Just goes to show that tracer missile spam needs a nerf... so ridiculous how much damage they can put out with a single spell

Very sick video. Good tracklist, solid pacing, and showed some great fights.

I really hope you make some more.

  13. I believe Leg Slash applies its slow off of the off-hand hit, making it only have a base 67% hit chance. That's the only way I can explain how that skill fails so disproportionately often compared to every other skill.

Well dang... that's pretty annoying and shouldn't be the case if it is...

RNG like that doesn't belong in PvP

  14. One change I would highly support is tweaking Precision Strike.

Making it off the GCD or giving it a number of charges would allow the skill to be used a little more skillfully without relying on lag or buggy GCD.

Also, leg slash needs it's animation shortened or fixed completely.

I can't count the number of times she's gone through the animation six times only to have the GCD activate every use but never gets applied. The skill is flat out broken.

  15. What they need to do is take this same burst out of the aoe Force Sweep and move it to Blade Storm, just make all associated talents (Guaranteed Crit, 100% damage boost) apply to Blade storm and all would be fine.

The aoe damage numbers are too high even minus consumables. Hitting for over half of a person's HP in an aoe fashion is just too strong. Make it single target burst but also slightly ranged by moving it to blade storm and suddenly you can still push out some hard pressure but also make it slightly more viable to land in the laggy warzone environments.
