  1. Hes a fine character, in fact all characters are good. Its just when the obsessed fans think that their character can do whatever the hell they want, is where the line is drawn.

I agree with that, Maul was great and all but Maul as an Emperor is just something I could never see....

  2. Cad Bane and Tenebrae/Vitiate/Sith Emperor come to mind right off the top of my head.

Sooo where did you find information that Cad Bane is over a thousand years old exactly?? This is news to me.

As for Vitiate yes theres one.

The Abyyssin? I'm sorry but that is also untrue, they do not live for thousands of years.

So far only one, its looking pretty spectacular at the moment....

  3. So its the norm for myself to get bashed for liking the fellow.

I usually get bashed for the reasons like "Over-rated" "Its just the double-bladed saber isn't it...." "Horns and tattoos look cool don't they...." "Died in his first major battle"

Ok so I'll take some of those but really?? I mean ok, he was made to look completely bad *** than the rest, and I'll admit, it worked on me. That attracted me and is that so wrong? Darth Maul was god damn cool, his fighting abilities were amazing and he was the apprentice of the best. I hate being bashed for reasons like that for chosing Maul, if I was told reasons like his immaturity then hands down that is a reason not to like him but damn I liked that about him too, made him cocky, I like that.

What are your opinions on him? Do ye guys agree with not liking him for the double-saber and all which was clearly made just to attract?

  4. Compared to some comic book characters who have lived since forever? Some of them being actual gods, living for a couple thousand years isn't all that great. (Which whose idea was it to take gods and make them superheroes? I feel that always downgraded the status of them.)

Ok so give me examples, keeping in context of Star Wars of course, of living for a couple thousand years because this information has seemed to have passed me.

And I never said anything wrong with becoming something spectacular beyond death, that is the way of the force for many but I do not define them as Gods. More like strong presences in the force, now that I have no problem but what you're saying here is thousands of years of life before death. So who are you talking about?

  5. I. am. so. sick. of. hearing. about. SWG.

When I think of SWG, I think of 40+ year olds, having fantasies about only the original VHS trilogy, unmastered and non Special Edition.

It's done. It's dead. Over with.

    This.

  6. Can't see Bioware being given permission to make such a change in the story/EU or whatever.

It's too much and I can see a lot of already written novels taking a hit and contradicting them, it doesn't work and as it might satisfy a lot of the movie fans it doesn't satisfy the story in general justice. So many other options like the option of just making a new character for the Emperor, is that so bad? Do we really need to bring back some character we've already met before to make the story more juicy? I don't think so, I think a new character works just fine.

Sure hell, it could be Darth Maul......;)

  7. I think pretty much the damage of the EU is being shown here. I think everyone has to realise that pretty much the 6 movies all revolve around this matter to show that Anakin Skywalker is the chosen one so I really don't like to see it being disputed but it's to be expected.

Anakin was the chosen but as we have seen it was predicted the chosen one would bring about the end of the Sith in a different matter. They would run head on with their Jedi robes and lightsaber and end the war. That obviously did not happen but Vader/Anakin did end the Emperor with a nice throw down to a pit in the Death Star :D

So in short I think Anakin is the chosen one, but his path of the chosen one was very different to what expected.

  8. Eh living for thousands of years isn't really anything spectacular, pulling a moon out of orbit is rather child's play compared to what comic book heroes can do. As for Galen(Starkiller) his over the top stuff was due to gameplay mechanics due to make the game more fun, the novel which is actual canon makes his force powers much more tame.

    Yeah completely disagree here.

Living for thousands of years isn't anything spectacular? Can you explain please because I'm rather lost as to how that isn't spectacular.....

And there are many many ways to make a game rich with story and life without having to overload on CGI. The Force Unleashed has a relatively decent story but overall it was just a CGI based game, "look at this and look how great and awesome that looked". I found that half of the things in that game could of been avoided and maybe more time spent on a story.
