  1. There are both pros and cons to having a global chat channel. Pros being easier to communicate with people on other planets and maybe even finding a group successfully. Cons being major trolling in these global channels on par of WoW's trade channel (or Barrens chat before they connected all the cities' trade channels).

That said, I will have to agree that getting notifications when someone enters or leaves the custom channel is annoying.

  2. ugh. /facepalm.

titles should be reserved for doing something of note. completing a story arc, or major point, slaying a rather nasty boss, doing an actual feat. something that is going to unlock purely from playing the game long enough is pretty dumb. i can sorta understand the pvp titles, as its one of the few ways to reward that activity, but with how pve is designed we dont need it, nor should we want it. giving away titles freely diminishes the accomplishment of getting them.

Does leveling a character on the PTS up to 10 and then finishing chapter 1 count as doing something of note? I did get titles for my real characters for that.

Besides, titles are just another way to customize our characters.

  3. I'm assuming Drexel Sweep = Sullust Interception and I do agree that they are a bit overtuned for at level. I certainly didn't try to do it on my alt with all lvl 5 upgrades since I never bothered with space mission when I was leveling him up, so I didn't have any of the special upgrades from the fleet commendations.

I have completed it on a regular basis before, key being in using the invincibility shield and EMP during the run after you first pass the capital ship. That section is the worst part of the entire mission. Without the shield and EMP, you're looking at being down to 25% hp for the rest of the mission.

And I'm also assuming Zosha Advance = Cloud of Vondru. In that one, the really annoying part is targetting the goddamn shield generators when you have proton torpedoes especially when 1. your ship is moving and 2. the capital ship is also moving. There's a small window of time to use the proton torpedoes on each of the shield generators, making that space mission infinitely more stupid. That's mainly the reason why I've only done that space mission once. :t_rolleyes:

  4. I hope they never implement this. Social clothing adjusting to armor type will ruin immersion as it is. In fact, I'm not sure I will even continue to sub because of it. I do not wish to support that direction because I know where it will be headed, no thank you. In a few years, we will have jedi with bikinis, high heels and angel wings. Yeah, that's so *********** awesome, not.

But, they seem hell bent on alienating the core SW fans as it is so I'm not really surprised.

On the flip-side, it can allow people to have more immersion with the game as well. Seriously, when I first when to Quesh, my Sorc was wearing a skimpy robe that she got as a drop from Cademimu, and that measly injection is supposed to keep my character unaffected by the Quesh venom this whole time? Not to mention when I wore the same gear on Hoth (just changed out the modifications), just because my character is a Sith doesn't mean that she's immune to the effects of the cold climate...

And we can already have Jedis in bikinis. Which fanboy hasn't already put Kira Carsen, Nadia Grell, Ashara Zavros, or Jaesa Willsaam in a slave girl outfit? Last time I checked, they're all Jedi-related.

That said, I'm fine with what they have right now. If I wanted to mess with an outfit system, I'll just go on LotRO since I don't need a subscription anymore to log on.

  5. How come whenever an MMO is released the level cap is a measly 60 or less? I think if an MMo was released with a level cap of something like 200 or 150 that not many people could complain about reaching the level cap and being bored.

There is an MMO with a level cap of 200 right now. It's called MapleStory. :D

And really, it's not so much the leveling cap that's the issue, it's the amount of content as everyone else has said. MapleStory, with its level cap of 200, is a major grindfest with proportionately little questing/grouping content and variety. There are pros and cons to having a high and a low level cap.

  6. The only files which are needed are the version files.

I had a laptop which didn't get caught by the bug and patched it today up to 1.2 and copied the version files across and the desktop now doesn't need the 11Gb patch.

Too bad not everyone has access to the correct version files.

  7. Dromund Kaas. There's a line of 4 Legacy vendors just before you hit the Market area.

At least, that's where they were on PTS.

I probably should have checked if you can get the item back after you buy a weapon. Though somehow I doubt it since it's only for a lvl 14 weapon and you can always get another token from another character who's finished chapter 1.

  8. Nope, 1.2 hasn't renewed my faith. In fact, 1.2 has only served to push me toward the crowd of people who think Bioware's in over their heads with their accidental patch deployment snafu and the additional mistake in giving us false information until maintenance was over.

That said, I'm still a sucker and can't wait to get back onto the game to play with my friends.

  9. So i just read the announcement and bioware said that waiting tomorrow was wrong so NOW HAVE TO REDOWLOAD THE BLOODY CLIENT AGAIN. Bioware i am not impressed right now I am not impressed at all.

I know right? If they had told us the correct information, I could've been downloading while I slept. Ugh.

(Yes I know they probably couldn't have known until the server/patch was actually out, but seriously. This is so stupid.)

  10. Name ONE situation, just one where a Sith uses positive emotions to fight. I dare you.

The Jedi are NOT emotionless automatons. Give me one piece of evidence that proves it. Go on.

My female Jedi Consular sounds pretty flat sometimes.

And do Jedi named NPCs count?

Because in the SI storyline, Nomar Organa broke his promise to marry Lady Rist twice because he's said to be "the perfect Jedi".

  11. Geezuz... If I told my boss i'd have something for him "Soon" and it took another 3 weeks i'd get fired.

Hey BW how about changing the "Soon" on the updates page to say "TBA" ? WOuld more accurately reflect your schedule..

    :D lol

Turbine already trademarked "Soon" for LotRO. :p Usually meant "Not for a long time". ;)
