  1. FYI:

American game & company in the Central time zone.

You play an American game, learn to deal with the times they work in.

You wouldn't expect a company in China, or Russia to be open in American times. I don't get the entitlement for this game from some of the out of country players.

Blizzard, with all their faults and issues, can do it with WoW.

  2. And that's the big deal.

Not the countless bugs that have been around since launch and are still not *********** fixed.

No, it's about the romance options, so that weirdos can fantasize over badly written characters.

    Bloody hell.

PS: I'm meanwhile so used to the double bug in the Rishi hideout (2 Sateles and 2 Marrs in cutscenes), that I've started to see it as feature. 2018, this bug is still around. One of many. Well done EAware.

  4. She's another speed bump character that constantly gets shoved into my way, because the "story" (the incoherent rubbish they call "writing" in this "game") forces me to do so.

I can't bring anybody else. I have to bring Darth Diet Coke.

I find her generally rubbish. Better than a **** like Theron, an ****** like Arcann, or that dumb Jedi bimbo all my Inquisitors are plagued with (WHY IS SHE BACK!), but still as companion for a proper Sith?

Yeah, if you've never read anything about Sith and know very little about them, then she's fine.

  5. Hey, I have an idea.

Maybe they can bring back Revan.

We've only killed him what? Twice? Third time's a charm, right?

But yeah, what I expect is along the same time. It'll be another cookie-cutter villain with no personality, but massive mommy or daddy or both issues and the cunning of a rock. "Bwahaha! Look at me! I kill people!" Just another emo kid throwing fits. The Kylo Ren-ing of Star Wars villains will continue. It's "in" because ***** *** **** Lord Kylo Ren is "cool" (in the minds of deluded people who never witnessed good writing.)

Remember the days of dealing with Baras or Thanaton? How long it took? How good these villains were? And even among the non-FS characters. Tarro Blood for the BH? He was always there, taunting and haunting us. Jadus? Oh yes.

Now we have "villains" like Vaylin, who have no personality worth mentioning, who are not intimidating, who have no master plans, no plans within plans, and certainly no charisma. They're not even discount versions, not even diet coke. They're just speed bumps in a story, nothing else.

  6. I've dished out my fair share of criticism to the devs. But in this case, I have to say, they are doing a great job. Bugs happen in software development - that's unavoidable. I will never fault that - only silence on the issue.

But in this case, after being alerted and verifying it - and the fix - they promptly addressed it. And Keith has been giving regular updates (yes, in the bugs forum, but frankly that's where the activity has been so I can't even fault that). IMO, that's exactly what's supposed to happen: acknowledge, debug, communicate, fix. Sucks that it's May the Fourth, but the bug is potentially game-breaking so it needed to be dealt with promptly...

"Congratulations, you did your job! So awesome that you do what you're supposed to do!"

    That's what you're saying.

Yes, bugs happen. But there's also a thing called "quality control" and another thing called "testing". Most bugs shouldn't make it through that. Especially not big ones that hit a lot of people. Sure, a weird one, that requires very specific conditions? Alright. But essentially game breaking bugs that hit a lot of people?

    Nope. That's just shoddy work.

Then again, this is what happens when your dev team is shrunk to such tiny levels that releasing a single raid takes almost 2 years and you resort to pushing out badly written single player expansions (in an MMO no less, which flat out defeats the purpose of MMO and is really only there to milk people for money in classic EA style) because you simply don't have anything for more.

And this game was the WoW killer.

    Hilarious.

  7. Theron went rogue. He did what he did because he believed he knew what's best. This time it worked out.

What about next time? Hmmm? Not the first time he went rogue. Won't be the last time, and next time it won't be so nice as far as out characters know. So why should our characters trust him?

He's a wild card and he can't be trusted farther than you can force push him.

Yeah, yeah, next time it'll be all fine again, because plot armor (aka god awful writing), but our characters don't know that.

The reactions are interesting though. Players "swooning". It shows how vapid a lot of players are. Good story? Na, who needs that. But having my favorite fictional character I want to **** still around? Yes! That's important!

Pathetic and lousy roleplayers, go figure.

If you cater to that crowd, of course your game is starting to go down. Just wait for the next server merge when the number of players drops even more.

  8. I seriously doubt we'll see class stories ever again. Since SoR we've had 1 cookie cutter story, and the resources for more content have dwindled since then. It took them almost 2 years to make a single raid. 8 different class stories? Not happening.

We're going to be very lucky if we get separate Empire and Republic stories.

The biggest mistake they made with Zakuul is making us basically the most powerful character in the galaxy and give us an effectively invincible fleet. Apart from nothing being done with it (the fleet was flat out useless), such a decision is bad, really bad. Never should a player character be this powerful. Imagine you play WoW and end up as king of Stormwind in one expansion, only to be booted back to normal adventurer in the next. That's how bad this approach is. It's horrible. It makes no sense and is indicative of a level of writing you see in fanfic 14 year olds who think Rey is a brilliant character post on tumblr.

    No. Just no.

Another issue, of course, is that Zakuul fell down the "there is always a bigger bad" rabbit hole. Another massive hint of bad writing. What's the next big bad going to be? The Yuuzhan Vong? The creative department is severely lacking.

And also, why should any of my characters care about Zakuul and its people? Even for my Jedi there is very little motivation. "But they are innocent civilians! The will of the force blablabla!" No. At this point, my characters, even my Jedi are all close to the Deadpool approach, because that's the only answer to how stupid this ride has been.

A lot of people also seem to be obsessed with romance options, which are, across all 8 classes, bloody awful. I play mostly Inquisitor. My primary options, depending on my characters gender, are a pirate, who is one of the worst cardboard cutout stereotypes I've ever seen, and a dumb Jedi girl who has nothing that makes her character interesting (plus a voice actress who almost falls asleep reading her lines.) It's not better on any other classes, and I have done them all.

Now they increased the number of laughably silly romance options. Theron? Why would I ever go for him? He has massive mommy and daddy issues. No thanks. Lana? Yikes. No. Arcann? Oh hell no. Especially after he went all preachy on my Inquisitor as she set out to the new FP (which is rich, coming from Mr Genocide himself; I saved him solely for the achievement, and yes, this Inq is LS, she puts the empire before everything else), I'd rather have her romance HK51. Hell, T7 looks cute in a certain light, I take that rust bucket over any of the dumb meatbags.

    I digress.

Bottom line: We went from 8 distinctly different class stories to a single "one size fits all" cookie cutter tale, that is so cliche-laden and trope-riddled, so full of sad stereotypes, so badly written it makes me want to set fire to random buildings.

A more recent comparison to the quality level of this story now is Stargate Origins. We went from SG-1 (8 stories) to Origins (trash.)

On the other hand, it would fit perfectly into the new canon. It's on the same level of tripe. With utter garbage like Lost Stars, or that one book with 16-year old Leia's "adventures" (*vomit*) this complete rubbish would fit right in.

  9. Not sure why anyone would want her.

She's a Discount Villain, on the level of Kylo Ren. There's nothing intimidating or brilliant about her. She's just another emo throwing fit after fit. She's not smart, she's not cunning, she's not even qualified to lead a team of janitors. All she has is being strong in the force and a mountain of daddy issues.

"Oh my daddy didn't love me, so I'm killing people now. Yay!"

Amazing writing there EAware, that makes the New Jedi Order from old canon look like Nobel Prize in literature material.

  10. The area is gorgeous. I would like to have more stuff in this place.

But the story is 100% foreseeable (and pretty much forgettable, since it's nothing but trope after trope.) It penned out like I expected it to. Lame ending for the lame pile of rubbish that was the entire Fallen Empire snore-fest. They wrote themselves into a corner with the Alliance, and had to pull this nonsense to make it all go away. The good story ended at level 55. Since then it's been meh.

And the final fight bugged out for me. Couldn't target a certain thing. So I had to restart. Nice quality control you got there, EAware. Can't even release a single dungeon without bugs.

  11. Ah, the trooper story, which starts out really interesting and then devolves swiftly into 50% of the dialogue consisting solely of yelling "FOR THE REPUBLIC!"

I don't remember the Voss guy from the consular story, but that's mostly because after Chapter 1 the story is flat out rubbish and about as captivating as watching a cow fart. I just went through the motions to hit max level after One.

  12. Yes please.

That would be great. Should also be doable. But I'm not going to hold my breath.

Honestly, I'm expecting some lame written reason why we go back to our original faction, and that'll be it. I hope I'm wrong. I really do. But it took them almost 2 years to complete a single raid, so I'm not having any great expectations for faction changes.

Would be awesome if we could, but I'm too disillusioned at this point to even remotely hope.
