  1. I didn't pay all that money to get a game where i have to wait in line to click a glowy or sit around and wait for quest mobs to spawn because they are so over-hunted. Its like this game has reverted back to Everquest 1. I get they had too many servers but this is just stupid. And ya know what...its not my fault they over-reacted and added too many servers. As a paying customer I shouldn't have to be the one to capitulate to them. If they wanna pay me to play this game then I'll happily be their lab rat, but until then LEAVE MY CHARACTERS ALONE.

Same here, which is why I did the only thing they will listen to, I unsubbed. Still active until Aug 18th so will keep coming to the forums to see if they will at least have a few light to moderate servers for those of us who enjoy the smaller community. Doubtful they care though.

  2. Dear Bioware,

I have chosen to stay on my original server to preserve my charactors' names, legacy name, and my guild's names, both Republic and Empire. Our whole guild chose to stay with our original server.

If Bioware subsequently chooses to close down our server and move us to another server, where we will lose our identities, I will leave SW:TOR altogether, desipte the fact that I do love the game and the friendships I have developed.

Remember, Bioware, this is MY money I am choosing to spend on SW:TOR. If you choose to make my game experience displeasing, I WILL choose to spend my entertainment money elseware.

You may have some of the finest game developers, coders, and layout artists in the MMO business, but your logistical people are incredibly inept. It seems to me with the University of Texas in your back yard, you could find/hire a good logician to help you with this.

You are going to lose income from this transfer fiasco if you don't accommodate your clientele. Remember, you can please all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time, but you can NEVER please all of the people all of the time. In your business, you need to please as many as possible. Your income depends on it.

    My 2 creds worth..................... Tabou

Just unsubbed this morning (20 days left). I have no desire to go to an over populated server. Decided since they are remaining silent, best to unsub now and just keep an eye on the forums to see if they elect to have a few light to moderate population servers. Doubtful though.

  3. ^^ This is almost EXACTLY what I was about to post.

All of us "light server hold-outs" obviously enjoy this environment. When the voluntary character transfers end PLEASE PLEASE combined the remaining servers into a few light to moderate population servers. So you have 2-3 additional servers open on each coast, is that really such a hindrance considering you just closed 100+ ? Please consider this demographic of player when you begin mergers.

Just like the above player mentioned, if my wife and I have to play on a heavy / full server, battle queue times, wait around for mobs or fight kill stealers - we'll be canceling our subscriptions, it's already been agreed upon.

Absolutely! I moved some characters just to see what some of the zones looked like. Too many people...have to start doing camp checks like my old EQ days. If they don't have any moderate to light server plans, I'm gone.

If they continue to remain silent, I will be unsubbing before my subscription runs out in mid August

  4. I know it's a bit of an off time to play but still I do think that a handful or two of players have already quit. Last week when I was looking at the servers there were a lot more "full" and "heavy".

IMO this is a good thing. Not everyone is going to like the game so maybe those people can move on out and things can stabilize for the people who do plan on sticking with it.

    Just a thought...

Or Christmas vacations are over? Just a thought

  5. A 100% fanboy post is just as useless as a 100% hater post. Most people do not fit in to either category. I would bet most people feel like this - "I like this game and want the issues fixed so I can enjoy it even more"

Discussing the issues is a fair and sensible way to improve the game we enjoy playing. Pretending that issues do not exist is pointless. If I see somthing terrible in the game I will highlight it. Otherwise, nothing would ever Improve.

Posting "OMG I love this game" or "OMG i hate this game" are both useless and should be jsut deleted. Sadly, with all forms of media, the extreme views are the ones that get shouted the loudest. The Fanboy and the Hater represent very few people and should be just ignored.

I agree. But which of all the posts of "I'm quitting" are discussing it in a fair and sensible manner? There are things to fix in this game, and when I encounter them, I will look to see if anyone else posted the same thing, if not, I report it.

WoW still hasn't fixed my hunter pet bar from disappearing...on their stock UI even when I entered an instance, got ressed, got off a flying mount...etc.

I don't mind the sensible discussions, it's a laugh to see all the I'm quitting threads when most of the problems aren't game breaking. Annoying, certainly. But have they taken the proper steps to report it?

  6. Look dude, you made a thread where you tell people to stop being all "whiney (sp) on the forums" because you just love the game.

But that's what they're here for, and if you aren't mad about it you're doing a bad job of showing that. This thread seems like you read one too many threads you disagreed with and it set you off.

Nope, just wanted to add a positive thread...

It's also here for us to show our support. If you don't agree, don't read ;) I don't actually read the unsub, I quite, WoW or other game is better threads, just the titles so throwing my 2 credits in to show the Dev Team/SWTOR that I enjoy the game.

  7. It's really cool you enjoy the game but that doesn't mean you need to belittle people's opinions. If people disagree with you this is a forum where they can do so publicly. The forums are for communications, and part of that is customers airing their grievances. To get mad about this is just so absolutely juvenile.

If it really boils your blood you should leave the forums.

Doesn't boil my blood at all. Just seeing all the unsubbing comments makes me laugh. If they believe the other game didn't have these issues on release is actually pretty ludicrous.

Oh, as to your point about this being a public forum? Yep, sure is, thus my positive thread to let the Devs/SWTOR team know I am enjoying the game.

Still doesn't invalidate my point that if a player doesn't want to experience the growing pains of a new MMO, they should wait a few months.

  8. I'm unsubbing from warcraft too, only cause i can't justify burning the money while I play here.

However, I'm certain I'll be going back to play WoW eventually, unlike most folks here I think WoW is awesome.

WoW is like going to grad school for MMO players. It's learning experience

This game, along with many others, only exist because of WoW. Hate it or love it single handedly catapulted the MMO industry from niche market to a global phenomenon.

Let's change WoW to EQ and then you are closer to the mark. EQ was the game that started the ball rolling in the MMO market. Yes, UO was before EQ but EQ became "The MMO".

WoW was fun, now it isn't. SWTOR is fun...for me. People have to make their own choice but all the players saying they are unsubbing, should never, ever play an MMO on release. They will only experience the same frustration on the next one if they do.

  9. I'm glad the bugs you are experiencing are minor, however, this is not the case for all players. Some players have game-destroying bugs plaguing them.

That has been the case in just about every MMO ever released (even the vaunted WoW at its release and during expansions). I'm sorry for the bug you are experiencing, but have you taken the proper path in trying to get it (or them) resolved? If they have acknowledged the bug you are experiencing, then you can bet the Dev Team is working overtime trying to get a fix out for it if it is game breaking.

However, if it isn't a "game breaking" bug, then it might take a bit, thus my point that if people do not want to experience the growing pains of a fledging MMO, never play one on its release. Wait a few months and then try it.

  10. So I can play SWTOR.

Having played other MMO's on their release dates, I see many of the same things:

    Server queues

patches (announced and unannouced) to improve the game

End game content not finished and buggy (yes, even WoW)

It's a new MMO, for those who don't like to be in on new games growing pains, try waiting next time when another MMO is released so you don't get all whiney on the forums.
