  1. So I saw this change and had to put my 2 cents in as well.

     

    I really wasn't looking forward to another grind, since I don't have a schedule that can accommodate most of the things I enjoy in the game. I had actually enjoyed the recent chapters and was happy that they focused in one area. As soon as I ended the chapters I stared down the cxp grind and said I would wait. That pretty much ended here..

     

    1 it isn't legacy wide and with the amount of toons I have enjoyed throughout the years I just can't see myself trying to make each toon level up to a point where they rewards are worth it. Also I don't see the game lasting to a point where the rewards are constant.

    2) 300 levels is an inane amount of levels 100 like originally talked about ok fine sure the legacy grind was there (the rewards still haven't changed in a long time) but I thought with more than one character 100 levels with going through operations randomly flashpoints to gain points sure I can get there.

     

    This change though will increase the amount of time it takes to get 1 level and since people are saying the time from level 5 cxp on is harder and increases then I just don't see it as a reason to get geared up. I hated this idea earlier when it was announced, I got over it, but yeah now... I just went past hate to hell no not gonna try this hard to get passable gear. This isn't what you all said in your streams. Nothing alluding to the fact that we would have to hire someone to play the game 8 hours a day to grind cxp to maximum level.

     

    Thank you Bioware/EA for making a bone headed decision that makes my desire to change games so easy to choose from.

  2. I just confirmed with the team that you can move armorings as you can the other mods. It works like it does in KOTFE in that they can be moved between similar pieces of gear.

    Isn't this the problem that people are still worried about and you noted in the stream.... if you are as unlucky as some of us are with RNG... me included and get 25 belts for example and you have 4 other pieces of gear that you haven't gotten upgrades for in lets say 2 weeks then I have a mod I can move but back to the other 4 pieces my armoring's are slacking vs the rest of my gear. Which when I want to experience say a higher level of the game and I am affecting the rest of the group because I am not able to keep up with what they are at because they have been lucky with the RNG gods as we all call it.

     

    Is this system not unfair to force others to be lost in the vacuum of RNG purgatory when they want to group with you?

     

    I understand for some users the time line might be quicker but for people that are not playing 5 hours a night and 10 hours a day on the weekend when bored. It still makes it harder for those people to get geared up under this system being RNG.... it has been said before and it will be said before. The last time SWTOR was using an RNG system for gear drops it really didn't work out well.

     

    Your RNG system only really works out if you get way more crates vs just a few.

     

    Per your comments... play one hour probably get a crate... lets be honest sometimes your game has massive bugs in it.... get 6 crates for the week... RNG gives 6 belts.... wooot I have 6 mods I can use... no armorings and no enhancements to be used elsewhere.... yay!

     

    Just hoping to get something that is fair for all it has been said before the RNG gear system that was used before failed miserably.

      Been wondering about this in all reality I have a massive group of comps that is large enough for a few ops at the same time. Most of them just sit around doing absolutely nothing. Why is only one of my comps going in with me? There have been images of an entire squad of alliance members standing in front of something ... why is that not something looked at instead of a single comp run?
       

    New Warzone

    • Coming in April with Chapter XII
    • Cross Faction Alliance teams fight together with players from opposite Factions on the same team
    • Lana Beniko will be voicing this Warzone
    • 2-5 control points throughout the map
    • Collect power-ups that affect the control points
    • PTS is planned to start in 2-3 weeks (I will pass on info as I have it)
       
      I am amazed that you all know what a PTS is anymore and happy to see that the PVP'ers get something for once.

    Quality of Life

    • These changes are coming with Chapter XII in April
    • You can now have all five Strongholds active at a time
    • 50% increase in decoration limits for Guild Flagships

    • There is now a Legacy Name column in your guild where you can designate that Legacy's main character
    • Mass selection for editing Guild Members
    • We are working on some other QoL improvements as well which we will hopefully announce in the next few weeks

    By the way.... A Helm is a subscriber reward? It better glow and and shoot lasers with actual significant damage at our target if its being worn... I honestly don't see anyone running around for long with this on.

  5. Still? how bout roll back the patch that stopped players from logging in? What is soooo very necessary in 4.1a that you can't just roll back this client breaking patch?

     

    So since Mucky Musco said you all like to hear what the player base is concerned about and what we would like fixed.

     

    I personally would like an emphasis in programmers moving away from the cartel market for 3 months. Be assigned to the fix the game team and come out with patches that are "tested" by player base so little things like screwing up a log in is not an issue. Fix major bugs first then work on down.

     

    QOL updates in the game are null and void if the game is not playable wouldn't you think?

     

    By the way all your problems started when you introduced bitraider soo long ago. It's been an absolute crapper for you all every time something like this comes up. Best solution.... get rid of bitraider. Player base hates it and you all can't seem to code around it right.

    Just a suggestion for the folks writing the code and testing the game out ... maybe get some testing computers that are outside the actual mainframe network so you can see what everyone is experiencing. I don't see the current set up as conducive if you don't have the player base not test it out for you.

We hope by this point you have had some time to jump in and get your hands on the changes yourselves.       As noted in the other post that has been completely ignored it seems.
       
      Went in started going through mobs notice that healing was slower... and well stopped altogether. At times would
       
      get down to 10% and then get a heal from the comp. finish fight with defensive cool downs and bubble time. Then
       
      get out of combat.
       
      Out of combat ... just hanging around waiting for a heal to pop off from the comp. .... well a few minutes pass by and
       
      still nothing. So finish up the heal back up to X and find the next troupe to bludgeon me.
       
      All the way through and using cool downs it can be done... takes foooorrrever and a day with all the stopping and starting...
       
      I doubt you will read this but hey who cares ... I start my day early come home late and don't want a second job. If that is what you are trying to make... a second job to finish all the companions and make the smallest group happy. Enjoy your small groups.

  10. It is kind of telling that for 24 hours there has been nothing coming from the dev tracker.

     

    I am glad you are this unresponsive. It means a few things

     

    1) You are figuring that you realize that this mistake is going to cost you players, credibility, and most importantly cash flow. Because if people are unsubscribing and not willing to put money into fake money i.e. cartel coins for a game they will never play again cash flow stops. In your apology letter you are giving us back at least 50% of what you took away and also giving us something shiny to look at. Leaving the companions alone and gameplay decently enjoyable and less of a pain in the .... for the duration of your time away making sure nobody steals too much thunder from the movie coming out in a month.

     

    2) You are writing up a post that will clarify that you have made what you all determine is the best decision for the game you want to put out. And are willing to accept the fact that you will lose a significant part of your player base because it is the game YOU have said is the best of the best of the best.

    3) You are going to flip flop around for the next 3 months and make statements like "Can you define the meaning of the word is .... is" doing the same thing as point 2 just also making sure your next employers see what kind of politically correct dribble you can dish out to a hostile community.

     

    4) All of you have been fired except the people that keep the servers up and running while replacements to restore the communities faith in the product being given for people to try and enjoy.

  11. So I did a log in and amazed after seeing the note of long time lines for patching went by smooth. Hate me know its ok .... but I did go and try a SF basic solo run... cause well my last repair bill was ... wow.

     

    What I did notice is that my comp out as a healer had a very noticeable delay in skills being utilized. Kind of like there was something written to say to the comp. Ok heal... now look at the shiny blah blah... oh hey back to a heal... see the shiny.... is that a healing button over there... shinnyyyy ..... On golds with a pack of other things around I would drop down to 10% without adding some sort of electro dart/crabonize ability into the mix. When I did do one of those two abilities... bam comp just seemed to stop doing anything.

     

    I sort of understand the method of madness that goes into making something last longer (see word search grinding reputation - WoW). Since well the holidays are coming and most of you already left for the year to go enjoy a beach somewhere or have been fired by EA since its a new expansion launch so why keep any of the code writers to last a whole series. But I just don't see the logic in this much of a companion nerf to make a very minutia of the community who is more vocal than the people who just want to enjoy the game outright.

     

    It was fun while it lasted but I am thinking this is a straw on a camels back. If there is no changes to revert back to comps being as fluid and effective as before 4.0.2 came out. I doubt I will be around to finish the story line. I don't need a second job, I want something I can enjoy.

  12. It's very nice to have new content and story content to boot. Oh and of course the best thing ever more cartel blah blah blah things that will drive sales for EA up and profit margins to another level and blah blah....

     

    But does any of this optimization come with fixing bugs that have and still exist in the game since oh I don't know the launch?

     

    Ever going to actually just take time instead of reskinning old armor and selling it as fuzzy new? On a side note I have bet with the trash can that you will not just give us the old companion gear that we are asking for but you will put it on the cartel market. Cause you know giving back to the player community is just wrong. Ask EA.

     

    Back from digression...

     

    What would be lovely is for you all to just stuff the cartel market for 3 months. And go back and actually fix bug problems understand them and fix them. There are enough of them that honestly it would take you a year not including all the things that will come up with the new launch. It just would be nice to show some love and play the game it was meant to be played and not some random half way house way to get around cause making a new cartel sellable version of Rakata gear from the first launch is sooo much more important.

     

    Grumpy ol Man finally getting fed up with the idea that stuffing broken new content to shift focus away from old broken maybe patched content is getting old.

     

    Ever walk up to something and can't get past it even though its a pebble in the road.... kind of like Monty Python asking the question of the air speed velocity of a sparrow... random and funny that a pebble can stop me but sad that you can't figure out a fix to it.

     

    One last digressions level sync ok whatever I will go and see how it rolls but here is a real question. In the case of the Sith Inquisitor class you bounce back to DK what 3-4 times and actually have to do things at the level in class story at a higher level. Will your level for that class be the highest level upon entering the planet each time? Or will you have the player die trying to complete a story line essential to their class if they are leveling up?

  13. I was trying to find this in a thread somewhere and well its not there that I can see.

     

    In my perfect world I would have been able to pick companions up as I go along and switch out the ones I rather hate to have. Or at least have the option to go back to a planet and recruit someone from the story line to take the place of a companion I am saddled with. I would have loved as a BH to have had a drunk fallen Jedi to laugh at and have as a partner in crime.

     

    I envision this, after going through the story line, be able to buy or recruit members of planets to the team and put one of the others you already have had on "leave" or let them wander on their own path.

     

    No need for a true story dialogue make it a visual message alert type system for them going out on missions for the crew and pay some slacker in Idaho a bit of cash for doing simple voice overs for the parts that they need to as in crew missions and such. "How about 'dem Jawa's" for example when in a fight... just you know ad libbing.

     

    A hope would be to give the player base an ability to make new their crew and feel like its a progression to something new. And for god sakes please don't make it all cartel coin based. Give the community something to do for once that doesn't feel like you just want money and don't want to actually make something in the game for the players to enjoy more.

     

    I thought maybe at the end of this expansion we would have had the option of taking a wookie, a sith, or an sis agent as part of the team moving forward but alas I was sadly mistaken and in a way found it disappointing.

     

    Since you all can't figure out the whole lag thing I doubt this is going to happen as I expect a grand portion of the community is getting fed up and will leave. Just would like to see something for the players to look forward to.

     

    As some players will not enjoy this let them turn off the feature or limit the ability to do so for what they can accept. (I.E. npc's that are met while planet trekking/leveling up.) Let the player decide to opt in and choose their own adventure.

  14. it amazes me that there are 4 threads that have basically hit 1000 replies and nothing of a timetable has been given on this subject.

     

    I know everyone is busy there but lip service from customer service makes people leave games it always has it always will. There is so much potential for this game I am just sad that these things have not been unlocked even if it is a cheesy unlock .. get it done son!

  15. I have to say pre 1.2 I was able to hold aggro on single targets much easier than now. I didn't fully gear myself out as I was working on my marauder before. But I was able to hold aggro easier than now.

     

    A suggestion since all I have heard is that PWRTech tanks are the aoe tanks ... I lol'd at it each time. What should be done is a combo move where oil slick is dropped and the flame sweep ignites the oil and ticks damage on all enemies within the area of effect. Or have Flame Burst and sweep cost half of what they do now. I am in constant heat conservation mode since the patch to the point where I am not feeling like playing my BH tank at all. Its a nice 50 bank now... woot to the hizzle.

  16. There is a difference between balancing something and utterly destroying it. Nearly everyone has agreed that slicing needed a nerf.

     

    There is the crux of the problem Slicing was yielding too much so the balance needed to be put in place but the math done to "balance" it out I think is off. If I send off a companion on a say level 17-24 mission that has "rich" rewards the rewards should not be less than what I spent even if I am at a higher level. If I am waiting on someone and I send out a companion on a 4 minute mission while waiting for the other player it shouldn't be a loss just because I am at a higher level. I am using my gametime wisely.

     

    I believe they need to relook at the math and adjust back a little it is a little daunting also when a crew member is gone 30 minutes for a mission and all they come back with is less credits that what you sent them out on. I know my companions like to drink but ... they can't be that drunk can they?:rolleyes:
