    I wish they would Shard Fleet on Harbinger, there are 300 people on Fleet and there is only 1 shard, and the performance is horrendous on Fleet. Do we really need to see everybody on fleet? Everybody is just standing around, looking like they are doing nothing, just shard the place so the performance can increase and not make it so annoying. There is no point to see everybody on fleet.

     

    while I do understand you, and maybe that amount of ppl is kinda of annoying performance-wise, I have to add that I almost never go to the fleet. I'm level 50... just before Voss (I havent started it yet) so I'm kinda still on the middle on my story line, so I have no reason for going to the fleet that often - I dont really care about uber gear and drops and all that stuff so I'm just continuing the story - I'm just talking about what I see when I go there. I play on Legions of Lettow btw and its pretty healthy I think...

     

    But the sharding drives me nuts ...

    You fail to realize that the "veteran MMO community" and those who care about/know where to find their opinions are less than 1% of the number of people who bought SWToR. As always happens in these games, people will decide for themselves and if the predictions of the "veteran MMO community" end up being right, it will be due to coincidence, not a knowledge of what gamers want.

     

    The fact is, this game is no different than any game at launch. Light in content, buggy, and predicted to fail on the forums. While the OP is rather overly optimistic, the Star Wars IP alone will keep this game thriving long enough to gain the same polish every other thriving MMO that started out just as unfinished now has.

     

    The only measure the game will fail by is trying to use WoW as a comparison. WoW is an anomaly. There is no formula for recreating its popularity. In fact, the only likely way any game is going to ever come close to, or surpass it, is to completely ignore it. That would be true innovation.

     

    Well... while I'm not a fan of wow, I have to say its no anomaly. It was the perfect game at the perfect timing. I mean... it was like winning the lottery. Remember all those games before (and yes I've played them) and remember how WoW changed EVERYTHING? Not that I like the changes myself... but WoW to MMos is like... the Ford T... it wasnt the first car, not the best, but that is not the point. The point is the Ford T changed EVERYTHING.

     

    To have the impact that wow had, a game should have the right recipe at the right time... well sometime will happen. Its not like theres a "tendency book" on games... like fashion or design - it will be another lucky draw, but... not that I like being pessimist cause I do love this game, but... lets face it, SWTOR didnt pick the right straw.

    I dunno man... on my server even the freakin fleet is sharded...

     

    STOP SHARDING BW!

     

    (and btw, bioware, here just between the two of us... is pretty stupid to reveal how many players are at a given moment on a specific zone - thats just dumb... wows empty, but you dont notice its empty because it has NO NUMBERS... you should have known... that was a massive mistake)

     

    Edit: sorry mate... yes around 300... but like I said, its sharded, so its more than that... at least 1x1.5 that

    Anyway... whats so special about that sreenshot? I had about 350 light points then when it went to -10000 it reset to -0 +10000

    Same faction vs same faction warzone is stupid... like huttball, but in this later case, the very concept is stupid...

     

    Why cant bioware make BATTLEGROUNDS like DAoC? (for those who dont know, go check daoc battlegrounds) Always this sord-of wow crap... when many games had it way better before - I mean... wow is a reference just because it has 10 million players? Hell I dont play with 10 million players! For me a game only has to have 1 server and that server to be full... So, pretty much a GOOD mmo for me could only have 4k ppl...

     

    Besides, for me, this "sharding" crap is killing the game... as long as bioware keeps sharding, the zones will always feel dead - ya know I kinda like to see other human beings playing, even if that means waiting for respawns and that crap.

     

    Bioware, seriously... want to learn how to make interesting mmo pvp with someone, call your friends right there from Mythic (who made DAoC) since they work right next to you, and ASK FOR HELP. I'm not saying TIPS, I'm saying HELP, cause you NEED HELP.

     

    And I'll end as I started... same faction vs same faction warzone? Wow... this is sure innovating... at least in the stupidity department.

    I think incompetence should be punished. So if a player both manages to accomplish having high repair bills and not having credits to support those bills, its actually double incompetence.

     

    Its like a sign that you're not even competent enough to support your incompetence... wow.

    Yes well... lets not bring real politics into this issue or you'll have to study world war 2 and the nazi regime to see if it was "short on intellect"...

     

    I've never seen a democracy actually achieving anything besides those way too long "bickering at each other" on parliaments and congresses instead of doing something about it... a democracy just sits and talks, a dictatorship gets things done when its needed... you see, even Rome used to "hold democracy" in times of need.

     

    Have no idea where did you hear that quote... some leftist "legalize" and "free for all" pseudo-intellectual genius using "freedom" and "rights" as a punchline?

    LOL Seriously.... I havent been able to play for a week now because i played to much and messed up my wrists. Trying to rest them but work doesnt help :*( I wanna play so bad! Im freaking lvl 49 and cant play for more than 10 mins without pain.. Freaking kill me!

     

    I know I shouldnt... but I laughed. lol

     

    Get well and get a support for your wrist (and prolly a mouse that lets your hand rest on it in the best position possible)

    I play only Republic and it annoys me too. I think Sith should only be able to use red light sabers and nothing else and Republic should not be able to use them at all.

     

    /agree.

     

    If a Jedi wants to be "dodgy" get an orange one... red shouldnt be available for a Jedi
