  1. Blizzard is going to announce a NEW game at Pax East, not showing off their existing games... what he meant to say was that Blizzard has never gone to any conventions for their existing games, besides BlizzCon. Considering an average of 25,000 people attend BlizzCon and Pax East only has an average of 3,500 attendees, I think it's a waste for Blizzard to even go to Pax East, they may as well save it for Pax Prime.

Also, to say that Bioware "reached a new low" by not attending such a tiny event is ridiculous. Heaven forbid they don't reach 3,500 more people... most of those people would probably be just like you and no one wants those types of people added to the community anyway.

lol at your 3500 number...PAX east has ALOT more attendees that that! PAX East is the LARGEST gaming convention on the Eastern Seaboard...

  2. ok....

Mass Effect and Dragon Age are not MMOs. Dragon Age is an upcoming game

Neverwinter is also not yet released hence the reason you will see it there.

I don't see anything about STO being there. Not even on their official forums.

But again you never answered my question. Do you base what MMO you play around weather or not they are at conventions?

mass effect and dragon age are made by...EA. So EA will be there just not the SWTOR team...that tells me that EA is putting it's money elsewhere.

  3. yeah but remember they just launched last year. This is a year later. Not even WoW goes to conventions. Actually i'm not so sure there will be a bunch of new MMOs there.

Elder Scrolls might other then that I don't know of what else will be there. Btw you are basing what MMO you are playing on weather or not they will be at a convention?

PAX east is THE biggest gaming convention on the east coast...not having a presence there seems foolhardy...or maybe they are giving up after Makeb...

  4. 3. Do something else.

Indeed. When so-called PvP guilds are camping the zone and preventing people from completing quests, and I am on instance shuttle lock-out and my PvE quests are done, I sign off the game and find something more fun to do. I'm pretty sure that's not the general direction EA wants this to go.

BTW, I'm never going to bribe a wanna-be PvP guild on a PvE server. For anything. Ever.

saame here...since a couple of bad experiences in the "PVE" are of the Gree event I have barely played the game. My Sub is up in March and for the first time I am thinking of putting that money somewhere else.

  5. I think it's interesting emergent gameplay. With just a bit of work, people could fight back - there are more of, well, EVERYBODY ELSE than there are people in one guild. Or people can switch instances to avoid that. There are games that are all about such behavior, like EVE, and people find it fun. If I did not feel like dealing with that gameplay, I would leave for a bit or switch instances. But I think it adds something cool to the game.

you probably should play EVE online...

  6. I honestly don't get the complaints. There are 3 PvE missions that require no flagging and are in a completely safe area. There are 3 PvP missions one of which requires a group. All missions reward reputation and most of the cosmetic rewards can be purchased with credits.

This event has something for everyone, I don't see why anyone would complain.

and then 2 messages down a player ONCE AGAIN explains that you can easily become tagged while doing the "PVE" quests in the new area.

I just did some dailies on IMP side and did not have any problems...but I saw PUBS ganking people near the heroic PVE stufff and general chat was full of people raging.

I continue to believe that this event is poorly done for both PVE and PVP.

  7. 1.Ganking is a term for pvp, when one group outnumbers another. This event encourages pvp.

2.Expertise stat has been leveled out since Warhero/Elite WareHero so unless you dont pvp at all you should be on pretty even terms with everyone else.

And seriously, superior numbers wins pvp in all games.

    3.I bet they enjoyed it.

Anyway, this thread is someone complaining on the interwebs because they got killed in a video game. Lol. Get organised and use your head if you want to do this event. Thats all. Quit moaning about it and try it the way its meant to be done. :)

...or this thread is from a paying customer complaining that they are not satisfied with the product they are paying for.

  8. "This event encourages PvP and grouping up"

this event encourages ganking. even same faction ganking...if you enjoy that good for you. I do not.

I was working on a PVE quest when I was flagged and killed by players. Players who were there to gank other players.

    A PVE QUEST.

PVP is won by 2 things in SWTOR: Numbers or the Expertise stat. My character had barely 1000 expertise on and was attacked by 3-5 players as soon as he was flagged. how on earth is that enjoyable?

the fact that multiple people in this are ok with a chunk of the player base being disfranchised by this event is troubling.

I also cant think of a MMO that has done this sort of event before...now we know why.

I enjoy SWTOR....alot. But I find this and the current focus on F2P players are both souring the game for me.

  9. I don't want to do PvP. I hate PvP. Please, SWTOR guys, when do you realize that not every player digs this stuff. And not everyone loves group quests. It seems like there's nothing in this event for me, which sucks. :(

" It seems like there's nothing in this event for me,"

and this is why this event is a massive failure.

Instancing the 2 types of zones would have prevented this clusterfrig but the hero engine probably cant handle that...

  10. I think you only lose 2 quests. There are 2 PVP quests that give around 600 rep and 3 PVe quests that give around 600 rep.

You choose what you want to do. PVE, PVP or both.

You can group with people that watch what there doing and limit AOE cause if you hit the opposite side and there flagged, it will flag you. Same with healing a PVP flagged person. It's always been that way so this is really no different

I just did this today on one toon, grouped and had good time. No PVP at all.

Whats great though is if you want PVP. It's also there should you want to try it but you in no way have to and you can still get rep.

I had this experience on my IMP...then I switched to PUB and had a horrible experience...so not sure what to tell you.

  11. False.

I do little PVP these days, if any and completed it just fine and skipped the entire PVP quests and area. (there are only 2)

Sure, I could get randomly flagged if I was AOE'ing but that is easy enough to avoid. Just like I did in other contested areas of the game.

It's an easy enough event for PVE players and even easier to avoid getting flagged for PVP if you do not want it.

Plus you get the added benefit of going PVP should you want it.

ways to get flagged during PVE questing during Gree event:

AOE from you or your comp into a flagged player (I did this to a stealthed opposite faction player and got jumped by her 4 friends) note flagged PLAYER...you can get flagged from your faction too.

healing (you or your companion) a flagged player.

having a teammate gt flagged can sometime trigger this too.

so can you PVE during the gree event...yes if careful and you limit your playstyle.
