You're talking about a period where some of the biggest technological upgrades is going from bronze to iron and learning stone walls keeps the vikings out.
You're talking about a period that the greeks and roman discoveries were locked away in libraries that couldn't be a use to anybody.
You're talking about a period when algebra was the pinnacle of mathematics.
Before the ideas of free trade, physics and calculus technology was at basically a standstill with small discoveries and inventions here and there.
I'm not even going to bother..

Even in Earth's own history, pre-17th century there was really about 3000 years of technological stagnation. Technology improved by only marginally so.

Depends how you complain, really. Constructive criticism is always good, and then there's just goold old fashioned complaning, with a long post ranting what the game does wrong, but offers no solutions to them.

And this is why you make it clear to your group that you will not accept this kind of behaviour, of course, if there's an item nobody needs on, just ask if you can need it for your companion.
This is why I've NEVER had any problems with PUGS.

Could throw in Random Developer Events as well, like they did in SWG.

Could turn it into a temporary PvP zone with the winning side getting some commendations, or something like that. Shouldn't be a problem spawning NPCs and adding various stuff to the area, seeing as how much they bragged about the Hero Engine.
