  1. Hey guys, need some vet knowledge here.

Which one is most viable at endgame PvP and PVE?

    Which has the best story?

Which is the best for leveling?

Which is easiest for a rookie healer?

And above all, which is most fun?

    Right now I'm torn.

Commando has Jennifer Hale, Sage is said to be OP (although I have taken those claims with a kilo of salt) and the smuggler is, well the gorram smuggler!

    Any advice is extremly appreaciated.

May the Force be with you all and this game in the months to come.

P.S. Posted this in class section, but things are moving pretty slow over there. Sorry if I annoy.

  3. never gotten that far. try giving vette more companion gifts and try to re-marry her.

have 10.00 with her! Too late! Thanks for suggesting something though. Cheers!

Should put spoiler tags I guess.

  4. If you ain't "getting it on" with your companions, don't look!

I married Vette and all was good. But then I started to have...eh, "relations" with Jaeesa (I know, I know, I'm a baaad Sith) and could eventually marry her.

The thing is I was expecting a Mass Effect-style, hell, a Bioware-style conflict (like they've had on all games where there are multiple romance options) situation where Vette would call me out on my bullcrap and I'd have to pick between them. So I married Jaeesa (bored and all) and nothing.

It was like I'd never married Vette. She said nothing on the matter of my dumping her and re-marrying and now I regret my decision fiercely. I prefer Vette as my chars wife, more random somehow. My friend summed it up amusingly by saying that other Sith should react to my marrying the Twileek with: "So you freed your slave and then you...married...it?" xD

So am I screwed and stuck with the crazy sith chick? And no "Jaeesa is better dude" posts thanks, because I disagree.

  5. People are complaining because MMO mechanics and user interface design have been fleshed out for nearly a decade. Through the years of player feedback, game companies have learned to create experiences that are the least confounding and awkward. For this class specifically, and in this game, it does not appear that Bioware was sensitive to ergonomics and design. I'm still trying to figure out if it's a matter of design philosophy, or if it's just too late to back to the drawing board. Neither are acceptable.

In fact, the official reasons given for adding abilities such as Pommel Strike, seem like highly defensive responses with no real rationale behind them. So we are told that Pommel Strike et al. is given to us to take out weak mobs quickly. So what? Why can't we use one of the already existing spells to do that? Perhaps if that's the case, I should have two versions of every spell on my action bars--one for elites and one for weak mobs.

Interestingly, we are also told that Juggernaut tanks shouldn't even be worrying about trash in the first place...just let them run wild while we concentrate on silver and gold con mobs that pommel strike doesn't work on in the first place.

Also, you alienate a hefty percentage of your player base that does not bind abilities beyond the basic number keys and occasional alphabet keys. Imagine a new player comes to find out how to manage 30+ "core" abilities in order to tank, and is told that the only viable way is to bind all function keys, all number keys, all iterations of number keys and modifiers, etc etc. It is unreasonable and a step backward in UI design.

Obviously something is not right with the current design. The players agreeing with the OP range from casual folk to seasoned MMO vets. In addition, I can tell you that myself and many others sang this exact same song in beta both unsolicited and during class feedback sessions. I shouldn't have to point to all of the games, both past and present, that require great skill and mastery, but are both elegant and intuitive in design--without unnecessary fluff.

I'm a new player (first mmo ever) and I have no issue. Do not presume to speak for me.

I agree that the jugg needs some changes (the bloat is annoying), but it is a common stereotype among other gamers that mmo players are the nitpickiest in the gaming community.

And when you use hyperbolic words to describe "issues" on a f-ing game, you might not win points with this casual at least.

  6. This is my first MMO. I'm a lvl 41 Immortal. Love tanking, love the class, have done all flashpoints so far, have pvpd, want more of this class.

It is hard, but rewarding. I don't want it to become easier (since I suspect I would steamroll any boss or player :p) but I agree that many abilities feel unused. Some should be merged, but careful! I feel that in more capable hands (and somewhat in my noobish ones) it can be a deadly specc. I do not want this class to get nerfed.

And I love the visuals of it I may add. Really fitting thematically and with the story/style/atmosphere. No dancing, no gadgets, no crap, not too much hokus pocus. Just a big, mean, juggernaut :).

I never use the first basic anymore btw (assault was it?) sundering thingy and choke seem to always be enough. But I do build rage passively. And enrage for emergencies. Not that often.

Anyway love it. And now that I'm past the hardest part, I have been hardened through fire. Like true sith^^

    See yah ingame! :D

  7. Yeah, I kind of agree with you. They started this crap in DA2. Dialogue choices are extra simplistic.

Sadly, it still beats most other games. I hope they plan to continually work on dialogue. I expect it to be complex -- ala kotor.

Lol, kotor was complex, yeah. The drak side was't completely psychotic at all

I think my warrior is a pretty complex character, and I have only taken dark choices. It is the regular responses that create the personality. Love that.

  8. It's an amazing game from 1-50. Well I'm only at 48 but assume the last two levels will be consistent.

I imagine endgame will be lackluster for a while but I think this game has great potential. I can see myself casually grinding reputation, or whatever it's called, with my companions. Maxing professions, adding pvp valor, getting better at my class, or rolling alts to boost the legacy.

By the time I'm done with that, I'd expect they've improved end game and hopefully widened the scope on space combat.

Nice and resasonable endgame thinking. Respect.

The game is nine days old people. Grow the **** up, people who cry on a game forum or do us all a favour and walk into traffic.

  9. i never called you a "nuubz". my point is dont call other people names when you only have a vague idea of what they are talking about. you dont want addons, dont use them....but dont condemn those that do because of your lack of experience.....nuf said you've taken up too much of my time already....gl in your gaming adventures.

Good luck you too man, didn't mean to sound rude, but I am tired of this argument. Especially after having played the game and loved every inch of it (so far).

I'm just unsure if people really "need" this as they claim so whiningly, or if they just want it because they are lazy. I suspect it is the latter.

I wish you well, and years of fun, but I also hope you never get this :p.

Addons and mods that affect performance (I may not have used them, but I know of such a thing as research) forces the devs to change how the game is designed. And since I like the design of this game, no thank you.

Having said that, cosmetic stuff is fine.

  10. UI is fine, go back to WoW.

    Bingo!

Chanign around, cosmetic stuff, resize, sure. Beyond that?

    Nothxbyebye.

All the people saying "Don't like 'em, then don't use them rofl" get real.

If they introduce this then they have to balance the game around it and that will change how the combat is designed, and it will alter it from what it is today.

NO THANK YOU AND HELL NO!!!

No offence, but I like this games combat. I have to think ;)

    and still a noob. :D

  11. those who have more experience have just that.....more experience. how can you berate people who have actually USED these addons when you yourself probably dont even know exactly what they do, and only read a vague description of them?....

i guess direspect and half informed ideas are to be expected at times from people with vague ideas of what they are talking about.

    I don't need them. And I'm a "nuubz".

What does that tell you about veterans?

    Spoiled children...

  12. Anyone who thinks the UI is fine needs to go level a Sith Warrior Juggernaut right now. Even with all the quickslot bars enabled I can't fit all my abilities. I swear Juggernauts get a new ability every level, you need them all, and I'm not even max level yet.

I'm a lvl 32 jugg. I have no issue. I just bind abilities different bars and scroll (rapidly) between them. I only always have one bar visible. I have done all content so far. It is not too hard for me, and above all else, it's fun.

I seriously don't understand the issue. Maybe it gets worse at later lvls but I doubt it. As soon as a get the AOE taunt I will be unstobbable. I know that.

  13. lol you havn't even maxxed a toon in any MMo and you're talking to those that have like that? plz name and server so i know to avoid your pompuos attitude

Right, becuase those that have more experience are always superior.

It's not like people are spoiled at all.

I'm on Lord Calypho, and yes do stay away. All you "Addons must be in or this game sux" crowd.

I'm ok with cosmetic stuff, but ability macros? Addons to view the games code? Gearscore? **** that.
