  1. The only testing that will happen for 3.0 will be on our Closed PTS server.

That's a bit disappointing. There are a bunch of people like me that like to check out the PTS on a regular basis. Even more so in instances like this were there should be a decent player base. I'll admit I wasn't expecting public testing until probably a week or so before 3.0 went live, but none at all is a bit of a let down.

  2. I think most people would agree the credit sellers spam in general chat is bad. /ignoring them wouldn't really work since their chars don't last too long to begin with.

I would love to see something like them being put on a temporary ignore list when reporting them for spam. Even if it only lasted until logging off. This would effectively accomplish 3 things. Get them reported, which I'm sure BW wants. It would not take up space on a players normal ignore list and effectively remove a lot of the clutter in general chat players have to deal with.

  3. It would be terribly unbalanced to have a full ops on TS against pugs. Thats why you cant queue ops in ground either.

I know it would be terribly unbalanced. It's called a premade. It has been around for a very long time in pvp before this. If it's not supposed to be that way so be it.

  4. Queuing as an ops group seems to break it up by the 4 man groups. We are often ending up in different battles. If it's 8v8 or 12v12 why not have the ability to queue with a group that size?

Is this working as intended or are we supposed to be able to queue with an ops group?

  5. And there is NOTHING worse than defending, i am never again staying solo on a node that nobody comes to take, waiting and being bored out of my mind. Yes i will abandon it in order to find where the fighting is

Uhm, then you're doing it wrong.

In a pvp match where objectives are required to win, the objectives are just that, required. The fighting IS going to come to you. That's just sheer impatience that would drive you to abandon it. Running off in the hopes of killing someone 20-30 seconds faster.

On a second note. Single handedly defending objectives is very satisfying. Beating off 1-4 attackers without any assistance is a blast. I've solo defended objectives an entire match and had just as much fun as one where I am out attacking.

I'm not trying to say you shouldn't play the way you want, but you should also consider all the other people whose game you are screwing up. If you don't like the team aspect of warzones you probably shouldn't do them then.

  6. Was talking with a guildie yesterday about this. She and many other people hate items like the galactic party bomb/party instigator etc. Why not add in an item that someone could use in to cancel the effect, a la the train wreck from WoW. I don't mind the party items in this game, but can understand why people do. I know it's not a major inconvenience or anything just, annoying to them, but why not let them get a little satisfaction by being able to stop it.
  7. Read the OP's post again. He wants to raid 16 man with bloom/full settings. Your running full setting 16 man raid with a sb/950 budget board and FX CPU? Dosen't make sence.

Yes, I went back and edited in that that is not the board I use with that cpu, and is by no means ideal. The fact that it doesn't make sense doesn't mean it won't work though. Hell people do crap that makes no sense every day.

  8. I have a M5A97 ASUSTEK AM3 socket MOBO and not really keen on buying a new motherboard just to swap to intel...

CPU: I am thinking of getting AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core (Passmark Score is 9,109 for $199)

GPU: Radeon HD 7950 (Passmark score 4609 for $210)

Is this set up good for running swtor with bloom and shadows in 1920 resolution? 16-man too?

Yup it is. The mobo will work just fine (used to use that one myself, still have it in another comp). The cpu is great (the one I currently use). The gpu is good, but I personally have never liked the performance of the 50 series of cards. I'd spend the extra $100-150 to get a 7970 or save a few bucks and get a 7870.

I'm running pretty much the same setup with the settings maxed out and only run into any noticeable fps drop in very high population areas.

As for the people who like to argue AMD vs. Intel. I've got multiple desktops and laptops running various AMD and Intel cpu's. It's six of one half dozen of the other when you boil it down. Each have their own strengths and weakness'.

*Edit for a little clarification. I do not currently use that mobo in my gaming rig. Using a m5a99fx pro r2. Like a couple other people have pointed out. Yes that board will work, but no, it is not really ideal.

  9. I'd be happy if I could simply pick my ship. I dislike the trooper ship myself and would never use it and I'm just flat out tired of my jedi's ship. The ability for my trooper to have a BH ship for instance or my jedi to have an agent's ship.

I am no programmer but I would imagine that would be easier than giving the ability to decorate as has been suggested. All the same cut scenes and conversations essentially, just in a different setting. You can have just about any conversation in a cantina, why not another ship?

  10. Dear Gamers,

I would like to start a petition to get downtime and maintenance done during the night time for all countries, Downtime and Maintenance will only happen between the hours of 00:00 & 06:00am in the country you live.

Isn't this pretty much impossible now? Given the latest round of server merges there are players from all over the world on the same server.

Player A is in the US, player B is in Australia (for example since they are on opposite sides of the planet), how do you propose to take the server down at night for them?

  11. OMG, he made 2 threads for this!

Jason, everyone thinks you are incredibly stupid. Please stop confirming it for them.

    Actually it's 3 threads.

    #1) http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=669832

    #2) http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=669519

    #3) This thread.

He got a response from CS on the issue as well in thread #2.

He's obviously abused the system which is why they cut him off in the first place.

#1 isn't exactly the same, but close enough. Still a thread of his about his poor deleted characters that he has deleted multiple times.

  12. For PvE purposes, unless you run your Sentinel with Doc, every silver or gold mob fight is a nail biter with the chance of death.

Lol, not really no. My sentinel can and has killed champions and world bosses without Doc. Those were nail-biters. If someone playing a sentinel can't beat a silver or gold without Doc they are doing something seriously wrong.

  13. Hello all,

I was looking around trying to find out what the fastest/easiest route was for doing the weekly, with no luck.

So, I decided to ask the question to the community myself.

What I mean by fastest, are quests that require the least amount of fighting.

For instance those dailies on Makeb that appear in the field can mostly be completed by just avoiding mobs and clicking the needed objects, these I would class as the fastest type.

I would appreciate if anyone has any tips or knows what I am looking for.

    Greetz,

    Sun

While not really a specific route Dulfy has a list of the quests, a rating of their difficulty and average time to complete which is probably as good as you are going to get.

  14. Went from a 6850 to a 6970 and to be honest this game runs sooo much better. Minimal lag(normal mmo lag)

And huge improvement to graphics overall.

    Love it.

This game doesn't cause all the lag most people complain about.

People don't factor in there Internet connection and there hardware. And how many people are using the Internet at your home!!

Nice, glad you got an improvement.

A lot of it is the particular line of product too. Going from the 68xx to 69xx series will be an improvement no doubt, but your biggest improvement came from going from the xx50 to the xx70 line. I've got a 6970 as well and it runs the game wonderfully. The card I replaced was a 6770 and it still ran the game on max just fine. I think a lot of people have a good entry level card and think it should run the game flawlessly because it is over the minimum specs.

  15. This...

I dont have a problem with the timing, but its not out of the norm to celebrate a birthday or something on a day that people are actually available lol

I'm pretty sure the "birthday party" was for BW and KotoR. The game and a large portion of the player base were available to celebrate it. It wasn't OP's "birthday party" or yours, hence they hold it on the day of.

  16. So, I decided to get into a Pug today to kill Dreadtooth. Of course they have it on Master Looter, but I don't really care about that (its better than Need/Greed with stuff like that). Unfortunately, I was just invited after hearing "Anyone want to kill Dreadtooth?" Unbeknownst to me, they had "reserved" the Mask for the raid leader. To be honest, I find this bull: if you want to have purely reserved loot, you do something entirely in-guild. Otherwise, you can have everyone that wants to have the reserved person get the loot roll. If the pug gets it, the pug gets it. If anyone that rolled was in the guild, the reserved gets it. You lose guaranteed reservation once you pug a group, especially if you don't let the group know of a reservation.

I guess I'm just raging for no reason, but what do you all think?

While this can be a BS move there is nothing against the rules unfortunately. Should they be responsible for telling you there is reserved loot? Yes. But on the flip side of that coin you should have asked as well. After losing multiple BiS items in WoW this way I won't join a pug without asking who the raid lead is and if they have something reserved.

The next problem will also probably be one that was run into in WoW. What exactly are the loot rules? Highest roll wins? Lowest roll win? Master looter is just that. They are god as far as loot is concerned. A pug with master looter needs predefined rules or else it is literally at the whim of the ML. Hell in wow I used to see master looters put together pugs just to SELL the BiS items to people.

Just take it as a lesson learned and know the questions to ask next time.

  17. Actually it does, why do you make an assumption then feed it to him? He's asking because he's not sure and you have literally made up an answer.

OP: I have revans set unlocked in collections with the one from the CRC. The only complication is the 2hr wait for it to become permanently bound after purchase.

Actually I will recant my previous statement. No I wasn't making up an answer. I was giving an answer I had seen in a previous post on this very forum. Going back now someone else has corrected it much like you did. They did not accuse the person of "making answers up" though. I like that touch.

  18. You can buy a Revan Mask from the Contraband Retail Corp vender on the fleet for 10 market certificates. I Just wanted to check before binding the last bit of Revan armor (gloves that I will never wear) that this item does indeed count towards unlocking the armor set in your collection?

Any info on this you might share would be greatly received.

Unfortunately no, Revan's Mask from the reputation vendor does NOT count as part of the outfit for the collection. You have to actually have the mask from the cartel pack. The two are slightly different. (Dye slot in the reputation one for example)

  19. I have them on my friends list. That's how I know it's a level 14 sent that has it. I'm also pretty sure they are inactive or a place holder since they have been lvl 14 for months.

Yeah I knew it was a long shot from the get go, but no harm trying.
