  1. It's threads like this that make armchair developers and wannabes drive me completely insane.

As a professional software developer, I can say that this is not only common, it is pretty much the norm. Hell, the project I am currently working on these days is a couple weeks delayed already and the deploy is nowhere near the size of 5.2. The funny thing? the client hasn't complained. They've expressed their urgency but not a single bit of whine, and they are paying a LOT more than anyone here is for the service.

Completely agree. I would expect more from a gaming community, but no, I came to expect too much from people. I thought using technology would make them smart, but they're still just so dumb.

  2. Holy crap this community sounds like a bunch of self-entitled children. Game devs, don't feel bad one bit about having to delay. You guys do excellent work and delaying because you found last minute problems is more than common, its absolutely expected in this day and age. Don't be swayed by the hordes of stupidity commenting in here with their idiocies. "Wah, how unexpected" "you should bend over and let us take you for all you're worth because of a week delay on a free update"

give me a break. Grown adults acting like they're 5.

Good work Bioware, thanks for the update, and we will patiently await it's release when it is ready. It will certainly be worth it. I appreciate you guys trying to push it out in time, and then I appreciate you admitting it's not ready, and taking the hit for it. When you're dealing with a bunch of cry babies, its lose-lose if you release or delay, and delaying it is the smarter move for certain.

  3. Hello! The achievement for me, explorer of coruscant would not unlock for me despite completing it on tow different characters.

I did it in order both times, wit hthe last area unlocked being the jedi temple.

My work around for this was to explore the jedi temple any time besides last. I finished with senate plaza instead of the temple, because I believe the bug is with the jedi temple area, as you get a discovery anouncement at the speeder to the jedi temple, but credit for the achievement is unlocked after going up the elevator.

On top of this, you do not get the "you unconvered the entire map of the jedi temple" notification what so ever despite getting credit on the achievement tab.

Hope this information fully fleshes out the problem for a quick and easy fix.

  4. Completed it today, it took four tries.

Basically, theres a phase where he CC's errybody and then singles you out and kills you, in solo mode.

On the fourth attempt in a row, He simply did not ever enter that phase. No one got cc'd, I was never alone, Beat the boss.

I was ranged dps, my companion was melee tank, and every time i died, I revived on the spot, never returning to the medical droid.

  5. Just a suggestion, but you guys should go up into the search box and type "Paid Transfers" and just glance over the number of existing threads. It's pretty intense-- I just did it myself and was shocked at how much the community is voicing their opinions on this one.

    /end suggestion.

  6. I leveled Sharpshooter (cunning/power gear) and pvped up to rank 50 as that spec, then switched to DF from 50 to 70 ( cunning/crit gear) and the damage was crazy. I went from a solid 1v1 player to the occasional 1v2 winner and my numbers sky rocketted from 300-400k as SS to my record of 698,000 as DF. This is why I stick with DF, but you do have to change your stat focus from power to crit/surge.
  7. Hey Guys, I submitted an in-game ticket asking the questions "Is this a known issue? am I doing something wrong to obtain this codex entry?" and within a couple hours a customer service dude granted me the codex entry and then contacted me. Hope this helps.

UPDATE: The Rep. had to grant the entry to all of my characters (I only have 3 so he seemed willing to take the time to do it without reluctance!) He granted all three of my characters the entry and told me that were I to make a new character in which I ran into the problem again, I should report it again.

It's not guarenteed that you'll always get someone coming on to grant you the codex entries, but its certainly nice to know they care. They said that the fix will be brought about quicker if each incident is reported!

  8. I actually prefer alarcity. Granted it's only value comes when I am hunkered down and able to use something charged or aim shot. Come to think of it, I rarely use either of those. I apologize for the question. I think I need to go respec.

Alacrity lowers the cast time of wounding shots. By speccing this way, I usually can pull off multiple wounding shots on the same bleed effects.

  9. I've been focusing on this route as well, though my plan is to go into Saboteur far enough to get Contingency Charges and Shock/Sapping Charge, with the bonus to aoe effects. With this route I can get as high as upgraded Wounding Shots but not the higher bleed multipliers unfortunately.

I'm hoping it will be viable, but still too early to tell.

I am currently specced more or less this way. My rotation consists of 3 different bleed effects, followed by Wounding shots. Its effective- I would say I do even more damage this way.... HOwever, its pretty energy costly as a gunslinger with out having complete crit gear for energy regen. But in pvp, i haven't dropped below 300 k damage since speccing this way. Even in poor matches. Whether or not this is the best smuggler spec I have yet to see... and whether or not it can compete with the Guardian's AOe-focus spec... yeah, it can't. but its solid none-the-less.

  10. I found out one of the heroic quests that does not give a codex entry was shared to me as a knight today, but the others could not be. I wonder if it woudl be wise to have a friend roll a smuggler/trooper and group wit hyou from the get go, sharing every single quest they get along the way...
  11. I am a lvl 50 gunslinger geared in full champion gear and enjoy the class a lot. My spec is dirty fighting which is a lot more mobile than something like sharpshooter. I personally think dirty fighting is an awesome spec for objective games like voidstar, because you have an aoe dot attack that you can use on a group of enemies who are trying to plant a bomb on the door. Personally as an old time swg pre-cu player that enjoyed professions such as carbineer and pistoleer, the gunslinger class with dirty fighting spec fits my playstyle just right. I was having a pretty fun time countering this operative tonight and putting dots on him preventing him from making an escape. Operatives are definitely the class that gives me the most trouble but if I survive the first onslaught attack I usually come up the victor just by snaring, dotting them up, and nuking them. I do agree with a lot of the negatives people have described on this thread though and gunslinger really shines with a full spec healer keeping hots on you.

    This is an accurate post.

  12. Coming from a lvl 50 gunslinger myself, I can attest that we do NOT need a nerf. and I'll tell you why.

though at level 50 I can infact just about 2 shot anyone with 10 k health (which is anyone lower than level, what? 30? without any damage reduction skills being used of course), the reason we dont need a nerf is because we are able to also get "one shotted"

I.e., Gunslingers are useless against any form of cc. You cc us twice (once for us to blow our escape, once to cc us again) and you wil lbe able to dps us down to 0 before the cc wears off.

Also, gunslingers can't heal themselves.... and have to stay behind cover-- I had best be doing solid damage to make up for the fact that focus fire will kill me in a matter of moments.

So are gunslingers op? No- they just are burst-nukers.... you need to focus them down quicker than say, tanks- who do little damage but survive for a long time. Before asking for nerfs, please make sure you are level 50 and know how to play your class.... otherwise your view is biased and incomplete! thank you!

((and as for scoundrels-- they're great at pvp, but they work very simillarly to fighting a sith sorcerer believe it or not.))
