  1. One thing I wish I could do is re-que for warzones when I'm doing a space mission.

I hate it when I have to abandon a warzone, then wait the three or four minutes to finish the space mission to re-que for one.

If there is already a way to do this please PM me.

  2. I know, I know... you come to the forums to complain.

This is another complain post - I'm just giving you a heads up. So if you want to keep reading great. I'll keep it short.

I'm a PvPer... that's all I do. I really like PvP and I DO like the warzones that SW:TOR offers.

The thing that I don't like?

PLAYING AGAINST MY OWN FACTION. IT SUCKS. REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, BAD.

I HATE that I get out of a Huttball match and see the guy that just kicked my butt /emote "lol" at me. Why the hell would I want to group with this person?

    Introduce "cross-warzones". Introduce "cross-flashpoints". I don't care!

All of the people I play with feel the same way.

Why should we have a "sense of community" and not introduce cross sever warzones and flashpoints if I HATE the people I'm grouping with because they're mean to me in warzones?

I've heard in 1.2 you're introducing MORE cross faction warzones to help? THIS ISN'T HELPING! It's driving a core player base away from your game.

I'm not a developer. I don't know how to fix it. I'm just voicing my opinion that I'm sure will be downtrodden by trolls soon.

I want this game to be GREAT! I'm just worried about it's future!

    /current (and hopefully future) subscriber

  3. Also there is no need to cross fires at all.

I totally agree with this. You should NEVER cross the fire in Huttball (if you are carrying the ball) unless there is absolutely no one, even remotely close to you. Or if your resolve is cooling down (white bar is resetting).

I almost never cross even if my CC breaker is up because 9/10 a good player will instantly CC you again as soon as you break it.

  4. Gunnery 64 valor lvl. i use alacricity adrenal and my build takes First Responder from combat medic tree and 4% of alacricity in AS. Mostly i use alacra adrenal with surge/crit relic but in case i deal with a strong healer or mercs, i use alacra adrenal, alacra relic and recharge cell after 3 gravs, HiB and Demo combo, then do it again. My gravs with lots of alacra cast incredibly fast, though still i don't realize how it works in GCD frames. But it works great anyway.

Valor rank 63 here - I will say that I was gunnery most of the time - recently switched to assault and find it much more viable.

I can't wait for damage logs. This is very interesting to me, but still makes me uneasy.

I've heard from so many different threads that alacrity is worthless. Is it? Is it the unknown stat that we are all dismissing?

It's very hard to prove anything given that we do not have combat logs, but I'm very happy to hear you are having great results. I look forward to the alacrity discussion and that of every other stat - in the future!

  5. Everything I state here relates to level 50 play.

    Wrong Wrong.

Gunnery, is all about letting your melee go in and assist. Do you know how fast targets drop if you assist one player??

Your entire posted argument states that you play with a melee (or two?) to peel off you. OF COURSE targets are going to drop if you're focus firing them down with another player or two... duh.

Gunnery DOES have some of the best burst in the game - but if you're playing against an equally smart and geared (in some cases even dumber) opponent 1v1. You will lose.

Huttball- Escort ( stock strike and cc are great ways to move people into traps.)

Ranged support/ defence ( shooting from the second tier at chasers)

A gunnery commando should never ever have the ball. and if you do get it it needs to be passed to a class such as a shadow or carry it and pass to someone in a good position.

All this is true - and common sense (passing? umm... yeah... it's the whole point) Huttball is the warzone a Gunnery spec'd commandos can shine... IF he's left alone. Pray the smart players don't find you or you'll be shut down for the rest of the game.

Capper Support. We have concussive shot, cyro grnade, stockstrike, concussive blast and steath scan. Use them to CC, knock back and allow your team to cap the node.

Um, Assault has all of those PLUS AN 18 SECOND DoT on ZERO cooldown!!!! Which gives you more than enough time to fly or run back to a point - or call for help before the player can cap. I can hold off 2-3 players solo for a good amount of time with the DoT alone. I don't care what anyone says - Assault is BY FAR SUPERIOR in Alderaan and Voidstar. Especially if you're playing for objectives! (why wouldn't you be)

All in all play smart and know your role. i play a shadow as well. i missed some tactics as well, guild secrets :). the posts i about losing 1 vs 1 I laughed, gunnery commanods have one of the best burst dps in the game, we have heals and great cc and defensive tools, learn to play.

    Guild secrets? LOL.

The only thing a Gunnery commando has on top of an assault commando is a larger knockback (and SS) that help in Huttball and a little more burst IF you're not being focused (in my case - that's never).

Once you "learn to play", as you say, assault - you'll never look back.

All that said - do I ever play as Gunnery? Sure I'll switch it up and play CM or Gunnery if I'm burned out.

    But my main spec?

Assault. Hands down. No questions asked.

    ;)

  6. Gunnery: High Sustained Dmg. Low Mobility. Great Turret for helping team.

Assault: High Burst or Low Sustained Dmg. Medium Mobilty. You arent just a single role. You can burst or sustain. And depending on Ammo usage depends on how much burst you do.

This is correct, however... I've found more and more that I can't do crap in the 50's bracket as gunnery. Any Battlemaster with 1/2 a brain knows to - and DOES shut me down in gunnery spec.

More and more people are learning to use LoS, interrupt, and stunlock to burn a gunnery commando down. Heaven forbid you should get into a 1v1 fight with ANY class as gunnery... a smart player will pwn you.

Now, I'm not saying gunnery is bad at all, in fact the damage you can cause if you're left alone is mindblowingly epic... that, however, seems harder and harder to come by as the weeks go by and people are figuring out the gunnery counters.

  7. At 50, I played for a month as gunnery.

I've switched to assault. Any BM geared anything can absolutely shut me down now, with LoS/stunlocks/interrupts - I find that I can't kill anyone with 1/2 a brain.nassault I can still wreak havoc.

That said, gunnery is stupid easy to kill people that are unaware or don't know any of the key concepts of PvP. Or if you can find a decent spot to go unnoticed for a few seconds.

More and more I fiend myself being focused down as a gunnery trooper. Now, with assault, I feel like I have a chance against other BMs.

Anyone that says gunnery is overpowered is smokin the cheeba because as soon as any competent player gets on you - they should be able to win the 1v1 fight.

  8. I didn't read your entire thread but I'm sure it's a long roundabout way to bash this game while asking your question.

The answer is no. There are many active PVPers and my server is constantly popping in Ilum and warzones on both factions.

What you see(my guess is you included) is the whiners. The crybabies that didn't get the game they imagined so they run to the forums to cry to try and dissuade the people that do like it from playing out of some bitter feeling of letdown of their imagination of the "perfect pvp game"

I'm not dissuading any PvE gamers from this game. In fact its the best PvE MMO available.

    The PvP sucks, however,

  9. Or...they could just give one per bag and increase the cost of the items by 8x. Which btw would be exactly the same as if you got one out of every four bags now. Hell, even 10x would keep people playing and knowing that they are definitely going to get something out of all those hours of time.

    This.

Even if I could get 1 BM commendation per 100 champion commendations... That would be fine.

Btw all u ppl saying, fine... Leave? WE are subs that help pay to make the game better. When you hemorrhage us all away? You'll be left with a war, lotro, Conan skeleton crew.

We're voicing our concerns to try to make the game better... so leave your trolls at home!

  10. seriously...

I know this is a "PvE" game first and everything, but it still makes me want to rage over the RNG that the PvP system offers...

I will take deep breaths and not go insane - I will continue my sub until something better comes along...

my HOPE is that the better thing that comes along is ToR's PvP system... so I can continue my sub... but I fear a certain other (no monthly fee) MMO might strip the play time away...

I followed this game for 3 years - I'm disappointed to say the least - I know that fanboys will flood this with responses like "go back to WoW" and "ToR doesn't need ppl like you" etc... but the truth is... I don't play "WoW"

There are at least 12 guildies that feel the same way as I do that aren't posting... multiply that by the other ppl that don't post in the first place to voice their concerns and that of THEIR guildies...

anyway - I wish Bioware the best and HOPE that they can come up with solutions soon - you have my sub for another 2-3 months at least - before it comes down to the wire when the other AAA MMO/ARPGs will be released

  11. Erm so because you play at odd times something needs to be done?

Im sure you get paid more for doing these shifts thats the upside.

The downside is lack of social life and having nobody to kill in illum! :p

Ah yes. All MMO players that don't play between the hours of 7-11pm PST should be punished and not have access to the best gameplay experience. Please cancel your subscription if you can't play during these times.

Is that what you're telling me?

  12. You have weird friends and grossly overestimate the relevance of a minor gameplay facet.

The success of this game will certainly not be determined by the (non)existence of World PvP. Casuals and PvEers are where the money is at and no amount of rage by competitive PvPers, habitual gankers, sandbox fans and other marginal groups will change that.

Deal with it or go play the niche games catering to your desires.

Not sure if this is a troll or serious, but PvP is a MAJOR contributor to MMOs popularity today.

Casuals in a P2P MMO are most certainly not where the money's at.

  13. While I completely agree that kill trading is a vile, nasty, disgusting thing... on some servers it seems to be the only solution to completing the daily to stay competitive (by attaing gear with expertise) as the weaker faction.

I don't know if I would resort to it if I had the dilemma others had, but it would be very hard to not at least consider it given how broken the daily is now.

  14. We have someone complaining about armaments they have access to yet there are many servers (MINE) where one faction controls the middle TWENTY FOUR SEVEN where they cant even touch an armament. Even at 4am I decide to check it out and boom 5 imperials at the middle.

Be happy with what you got, some of us cant even do daily/weekly ilum.

This sounds terrible. I would probably quit the game altogether if that is what I had to deal with...

Even more reason this needs some kind of fix ASAP.

  15. SWTOR PvE in its current state. YES.

SWTOR PvP in its current state. NO.

Unfortunately I am a PvPer, so overall... NO I do not like SWTOR in its current state.

I followed this games news for years, I was sooooo super excited. But now that it's been a couple months... I'm underwhelmed.

PvP is EXTREMELY important to a LARGE number of MMO subscribers. Maybe SWTOR can survive on its PvE content alone, but it will not be as successful if they were to put a bigger emphasis on PvP as well.

Quick list of PvP importance to me:

The Ilum daily, armaments too hard to come by if it's not prime time.

Resolve needs to be reworked just a bit (if you're in a 4 sec stun and you have 10 ppl beating on you... have the stun break early maybe? Not sure just suggesting).

Player debuff for leaving Warzones early.

I know more WZs are coming (good thing).

  16. I bet it's nice having a population imbalance in your favour...

Not everbody has it as easy as you.

I'm a Republic trooper on Adjunta Pall.

When I get on I grab my guildies (Aussies) and a few other Republic... usually shoo out whatever Imps are there and stay until we are done. The imps seem to know Republic gets central Ilum from 7am to 8 or 9am.

  17. Riding around on my speeder for an hour or two every. single. day. Just so I can try to stay on top of my gear to be competitive is getting mind numbing.

I play in the mornings because I work 3rd shift. There are rarely fights going on to grab my kills from, so I'm forced to grind armaments and fight my own faction for nodes that spawn slower than molasses.

I really want this game to succeed, but every day I'm forced to do a daily like this makes me yearn for whatever new MMO or ARPG is around the corner.

A simple temporary fix would be to increase the respawn time, even slightly, until an even better solution can be found.

Before, turning "towers" or vehicles was too easy to get the daily done, now it's too hard. By hard I mean time consuming.

Heaven forbid you should have an alt you also want to do the daily on... I don't even consider it. I'm burning out way too fast on this game. Please keep me interested!

  18. I heard the reusable rakata stims don't carry the biochem stipulation anymore and have been nerfed, however the tool-tip doesn't reflect this change yet.

Did anyone drop biochem this morning? I'm pretty nervous to drop it until I have confirmation I can still use the reusable stim while picking up another profession.
