  1. Overall really enjoyed this season and the finale.   As for the last episode a few thoughts

    Spoiler

It was a very fast episode.  I really wish they had stretched it out a bit and let the episode breathe a bit.  I mean they escape the base find a cave to hold out and then almost imeditally leave.   The episode also had 0 surpises which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it.  But i'm happy that no one i cared about died this episode and that Mandalorians retook the planet.

Well yes that all sounds super cool  ( i'm being serious , it really does )  but one problem for me:  It isn't  Star Wars.

    Yes i know, i'm a snob.

p.s.  If only  SWTOR original Devs had the courage ( and authorization ) to add  'Star Citizen' type sandbox freedoms into this game , instead of sinking to the lowest common denominator Cartel Market greed game model on steroids.

Believe me I get that and Yeah I do wish this was Star Wars but it's everything I wanted in SWG so i'm able to look past it.

Ehh I don't think Bioware would have ever made a sandbox mmo. i mean it's bioware sandbox isn't something they do.   Still I love the Stories in SWTOR and love it for what it is.

Sorry to parse your words here but hey it's  forums so yeah lol ... Anyways:  Not sure  which era you played SWG originally but you most certainly could indeed do all 5 of those ^ things.

Lemme see how mushy my memory is....

    • during Pre-cu ( and even in CU era ) we could  smuggle 'contraband'  ( aka sliced items ) and get busted by the EMPIRE on random  'troop drop' patrols out in the wilds.
    • during CU era , there was indeed a 'prison break'  group zone called  ' ______ Station'  i think?  Whereby we had to free  Wookies from a Trandosian prison
    • once JTL era hit , we could indeed  'salvage'  asteroids up in space zones , using a special crafted type of  laser ( on a Mining Ship )
    •  not sure what you mean by "piracy" , but again that was sorta possible with the endless RP + imagination  sandbox-ness of  SWG
    • as for 'ship boarding' , there was of course the 9 variations of the 'Corvette' missions AND another group activity during the NGE-2 era i believe called  'ISP' ( or something ) whereby we would travel as a group aboard my Gunboat ( complete with player-manned turrets ) and have to board an Imperial Star Destroyer Interdictor Class  and then proceed on the mission within the bowels & halls of that ship

I'm not talking about a quest.  I'm talking about lets say you decided to become a pirate and you attack another player,  You disable their ship, board them take all of their cargo.  Sell it but then you get a crime stat which means a bounty  hunter can go after you and get payed for killing you.   Then you get killed by a bounty  hunter and get sent to prison.  While you are in prison you can either work your way out, join a prison gang  or break out of prison.   If you break out of prison then you need to get to a security station, hack hte computer to clear your crime stat.

As for salvage currently you can strip the hulls of destroyed ships and either sell the material or use it to repair your own ship.   They are currently adding ship componets so lets say your ship is damaged in a battle and your engines break or your sheild generator.  Well if salavage an enemy ship you might find componets you can use to repair or replace the ones on your ship.

I'm not just talking about RP obvioulsy as Star citizen is also a sand box but there are actual game mechanics that allow that to be possible.

All of this in an open world with 0 loading screens once you load into the game.    If you see something in the game you can get there.  No invisible walls everything is physical in the universe.

No thanks.  If i want  SWG ,  i just go play 'SWGEmu' .

Also: nothing can have "more depth" than original Pre-cu SWG, because it was only limited by the player's own personal imagination.

Anyways, what i want is  SWG-2 , which let's be honest just ain't gonna happen. ( Raph Koster  visionary types are 1 in a billion )

However, there is some hope with Ubisoft ( albeit supposedly single-player ) as well as the rumored  Zenimax/ESO team possibly taking on Star Wars IP for another MMO.

no worries but yeah you absolutely can have more depth as there things you can't do in SWG such as actual smuggling, prison breaks, salvaging, piracy and even ship boarding.   But i am right there with you i would love SWG 2 but that's not going to happen.  SC is as close as it comes.

    Everyone knows why. ;)

But the overall reason is threefold:

    1.  Rey becomes "powerful" too much too fast with too little training. ( aka Mary Sue syndrome )
    2.  Rian Johnson tries his best with sending Rey to Luke ( to "train" ) but messes up by having Kylo proclaim she's "nothing" and her parents were "no one" .
    3.  JJ Abrams & Kasden try to rectify the situation by "surprise"  she's actually Palpatine! --oh no wait on 2nd thought, she umm identifies as a "Skywalker' !

You do realize that STAR WARS was originally created by an eternal 'child' ( George Lucas ) and originally created FOR  kids....who then eventually became adults....who then eventually became bitter judgemental "fans"....who now ironically despise the very franchise they helped perpetuate into cinematic history.

Regardless, Disney will milk that cute little cuddly flying Force-sensitive Grogu for all he's worth.  And then $ome more. :sy_auction:

    lol whut?

She is one of the most popular characters.  Her merch is selling through the roof (not as good as grogu but still one of the best)

    1. Literally the same rate as Luke and had the same training as luke

    2.  her parents were no one, its her grandfather who was someone

    3.  thats JJ falling to angry  youtubers but still doesn't contradict anything really.

as for the op  Star Wars doesn't need saving, never has.  It survived the Holiday Special and the PT and it only got bigger.

I never said it was a warning. But it IS how one, unless you use the search function in the collection, finds out if one already own that armor, or other item. Sorry for your problem, but I doubt you will have any luck because you equipped it. Had you not, you could have sold it on GTN.

Sorry i'm not saying you did GeneralGyro did and said it was my fault because I didn't look.  But of course I don't know how I was supposed to know that.

If you already have an item in your inventory, you should be able to read "Unlocked for Account in Collections" under the Cartel market Item note in the preview box.

What the heck?? THAT"S WHAT I WAS SUPOSED TO CHECK?   How was i supposed to know I have to click on the item then go to show items and then click on one of the items and read the tiny text.  How is that a warning?

Did you equip the items? If you didn't equip, the normal bind timer is like 2 days. After that it's unbound and you can sell on GTN. Depending on the value you might have to sell each piece separately to get the full credits out of it, or if it's valuable enough, you can trade for a Hypercrate and later trade the Hypercrate for the armor set you actually want.

nope i equiped them because I was planning on unlocking them in my collection.  ONly to go to my collection and see they were already unlocked.

  9. 2 minutes ago, Balameb said:

BTW. You can still place a ticket. You probably won't get the CCs back, but MAYBE they will revert the binding and you can resell. You already have the 'No', so there is no harm in asking,

yeah I'm still not seeing anything saying it's in my collection even if i click buy it all it says is I can return it if i don't claim it.  But it says that for stuff that isn't in my collection either.

I'm gonna be pretty pissed if I can't even sell it.  That's the kind of thing that would make me stop playing this game especially after I bought all those cartel coins.

  10. Hi it's been a few  years since I played but decided to jump back in and imeditly saw some items on the Cartel Market i wanted.  So I picked up the infamous bounty hunter armor got equiped it then went to bind it to all my accounts only to find out i already did that... Seems last time I played i bout that set and already unlocked it to my all accounts.

How do I go about getting a refund for that since I already purchased it and can't do anything with said armor.

  11. I wonder how this will effect the canon status of Kotor and the Old Republic as a whole. See everything coming out after the Disney take-over is suppose to be canon. However, this is a remaster of a game that currents counts as Legends. I am curious to see how this works out.

it won't. this is no different then any of the other remakes of old games like Republic Commnado that just came out earlier this year.

Speaking of i'm not holding a lot of faith in this remake. It's being done by the compnay that did the "remaster" of Republic Commando for Swtich which while not improving the textures or graphics at all suffered from awful FPS. Yes a 20 year old game which could run on a pentium 2 with 256 megs ram couldn't even get 60 fps on the Switch.

If this was being done by Bioware i would have more confidence especially after they did an amazing job with the Mass Effect Legandy edition.

  12. Considering the sheer number of videos he's posted, I'm sure something has ("even a blind pig will find the occasional acorn")

    Totally accidental of course though

lol exactly you would think he would get something right but he always go with really extreme predictions.

What is kind of interesting is the history of his channel. If you look back he had been trying to be a big youtuber for years. he started out doing Call of Duty videos then video game news and the one day before TFA came out he did a video with a Star Wars rumor and that video exploded.

He took that and ran with it. Then of course this site started publishing his videos and writing articles about them giving him a sense of legitimacy. Which of course led to the rumor that Rian Johnson had been fired.

  13. I find Ewoks funny enough, both in George Lucas' Star Wars Episode VI and in SW:TOR also; there the Ewok (female?...) companion is very-very funny, coolest and pretty relaxing!!

Surely Ewoks are walking the path of the best, old Disney's tradition of cartoons and such!...

What is ... PT? I can't copy with such acronyms as OT, PT etc.

    Pt = Prequil Trilogy.

Ewoks as fun as they are they were only created to sell toys hence the Saturday Morning Cartoon and 2 made for tv movies. Lucas did far more merchendising and milking of hte Star Wars then Disney could posibly dream off.

    I mean... this exists https://static3.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Jar-Jar-Binks-tongue-candy-Star-Wars.jpg

  14. In ...... short; George Lucas' business regarding SW puppets, toys, cartoons and such didn't affect -at all- the quality of the Star Wars movies of his, therefore I don't really mind about those business of his...

    .

Ewoks and the entire PT would like to would disagree with you.
