  1. exactly. my scoundrel buddy HATED huttball. then we got better and now its this convo in vent:

vanguard. me. "hey I got the ball, tanking to pit, u almost there?"

scoundrel: "Yup cloaked on the ledge, let me know when ur going to throw"

vanguard. me. "k almost in range, throwing now".

may not work every single time but if he times the uncloak well it can be hard for them to get a good knockback or stun before hes close enough to score

This is the kind of thing the OP wants to see, not have you force leap out of the pit to a player releasing from jail and easy scoring.

  2. Just reading the PTS forums is hilarious. BH and Sorc tears are freely flowing, careful you may get swept away. BH post-OMG its over, end of the game, BH is no longer viable healer, dps is screwed. Sorc post- OMG its over, end of the game, Sorc is no longer viable healer, dps is screwed.

    Just too funny.

  3. Can you add a column to the guild list that shows how long since each player in the guild has last logged on. Hard to tell who's been active and who's not playing anymore with the current setup.
  4. Devs, please can you add a feature to all schematics that says "unknown" or "known" at the bottom of each one when you look at them. Nothing is more frustrating that looking through the GTN at schematics and having to go back to your crew window (which closes the GTN window) to see if you know recipes. A simple addition to make all crafters lives easier.

Secondly, when you crit a recipe, you should have a certain chance to also get the schematic for that recipe which you could then sell on the GTN.

  6. I knew things would be tough when StephenReid posted earlier in a post that they were surprised how popular pvp was. As for fixes, its not rocket science.

    1) Make open world kills have a reward. anywhere. on any planet. (if need be within 5 lvls) (Absolutely the stupidest thing about this game currently)

    2) Have weeklies that send all players to a planet under contention. ie this week Hoth. next week Corelia. Have drops as rewards, valor as rewards, gear drops, coin drops, etc etc etc etc etc etc.

    3) Have drop ships in the fleets that take you straight to the staging area.

    4) Use NPCs like WAR that control and hold objectives so they aren't easily traded.

ITS NOT THAT FRICKING HARD FOLKS. Could be up and running within a month.

  7. Since todays patch, every WZ I've entered has 4-5 people on one team vs a full opposing team>? Then once things go wrong for a minute or so people start quiting since there is no penalty for doing this, guaranteeing a loss. Shutdown initiates and of course once it gets down to 10-30 seconds it fills the damn thing up again. huh?

1> Can we please start WZs as full or even teams.

2> Can we please get a quiter debuff, this is ridiculous atm.

3> Can we please get a way to boot afkers in the playing field.

  8. Does anyone else have their screen lock-up when control of bases switches sides in the PVP zone of Ilum? I get a full 2-3 second lock with the switch message, running a highend machine, with descent fps, except when this occurs. Extremely annoying and debilating to say the least.
  9. How hard is it bioware to leave the skill greyed out until its useable? Isn't this the most basic of things to accomplish in an MMO?

You don't want to have 3 party addons, but this would be an addon that I would immediately download and use today. And the sad thing is that it would be working weeks ago, not still broken.

  10. Winning pvp warzones and not getting credit for the win on your daily/weekly is absolutely unacceptable and demoralizing. How hard is it to get this to work properly? It happens every single day and means that you have to spend extra time trying to get credit for wins you should have already secured. PURE BS.
  11. They need change the valor given for kills too. WAR handled this with giving valor divided by number of players involved in the kill. If your group killed a player everyone within a certain distance was given credit. This allowed solo players to get their single kills and be rewarded and also allowed a group to be rewarded (healers). Also the 30 kills for dailies should be on any world anywhere, as long as the player killed is within a few levels of the killer.

As for castles and seiges, some of the best open world pvp I ever had was in the lakes of WAR. Many many many failures in that game, but the PVP was mostly good.

  12. Hey all

Been thinking about this since the patch and obviously the direction SWTOR has gone to fix worldPVP is not totally satisfying for everyone. Let me state this up front, I enjoy the game, Im having fun, but things need to be changed/fixed to keep me for the long run. One way is definately improving world PVP.

What pisses me off is that getting a kill in open world at any level gives you zip, zero, nada, nothing (except Ilum PVP zone). What? Thats ridiculous. Way to entice me into hunting and killing the opposing faction. The current setup on Ilum gives me 20 valor for everyone my group kills that I have managed to damage. This greatly rewards aoe players and hurts single target players and HEALERS!!! Dumb! So dumb its down right stupid.

Some suggestions. And super easy to implement.

1). Make an open world PVP kill within -3 to 5 lvls of you worth something, on any planet anywhere in the game. Lets start with 100 valor as an example. For every lvl below you take away 10, for every lvl above you add 10 and cap it at 150. If its a single kill, you get full valor. For every player that gets damage during the kill divide it by that number of players to a minimum of 10 valor. IF your in a group, you get valor even if you don't create damage, as long as your within a certain distance. This promotes BH/***/Snipers as single hunters yet allows a larger group to prosper as well, including healers that should be healing not trying to create damage.

2). For every player that makes the killing blow, have a 10 to 20% chance that something worthwhile drops for that player. This is nuts imho that you get NOTHING. Make it so you get merc coms and put a small % that something else can drop (gear/pots/creds) etc.

3). Each planet that is contested should have 2-3 strategic points that if held/controlled grant that side a bonus to XP/Legacy. Makes its worth venturing over and securing it before you quest. Killing a player in open world PVP should also give XP/Legacy like everything else in the enitre game.

I hate to say it BW, but atm your PVP seems like an after thought, and if you want a base of your players to stay, this needs to be worked on like yesterday. All the above points promote open world PVP and give rewards that are not out of line for doing it.

Please, input suggestions and ideas to improve, maybe somebody will read this and take note.

    Cheers

  13. Who am I? I'm some dude that led a top-US CS:S team for many years, was a part of two top-10 WoW guilds, and played in several WoW Arena Tournies (including the CGS invitational) and many many CS tournaments, including the CPL. I also had a stint working for an indie game developer several years ago. I like to think that I know what I'm talking about, and usually, I do.

    /thisgivesyousomesortofcrediblity?

"Like I know like what I'm talking about cuz Im so freaking L33T."

Big deal, go back to WoW.

Im having fun. period. end of story.

  14. Really? I think Bioware has just set the new standard of how to launch an MMO.

You cough up the ponies early, you get to play earlier then everyone else. So just because you hummed and hahed and finally paid some coin in November you get in with those that commited in July?

    Right.

    Game. Set. Match. Bioware.

And no I'm not playing yet.
