Some people aren't meant to be in arenas (and also don't like em for the same reason). Don't impose them on us, it's already annoying to get those really bad team makeup without having players who don't wanna be there on top of it.

I'm a returning player, I was gonna roll an alt with a friend but decided against because I don't wanna have to do all the datacrons over again (especially the one in the fleet). In the end this will certainly have an effect on how long the game will have fresh content for me and therefore how long I will remain subbed. I am a competitive player who enjoys PvP so playing at a disadvantage by not having the bonuses is not even an option.

If you think swtor is a lobby game like diablo then WoW is also a lobby game where you sit in a city until you find a grp... DDO is a lobby game not swtor.

 

It may look a bit deserted at 50 (in fact it does). But try to roll and alt and you'll understand that a LOT of people are nowhere near to 50.

They won't make the servers bigger. They'll add new ones and hope that a majority rerolls. That's what every mmo before them did anyways.

I don't think your gonna see another staggered launch anytime soon. It is not needed with today's hardware. Bioware/EA was probably just trying to avoid putting too many servers up and having to merge em later.

Just look at the boards a bit longer. Reflect on it and come back. You will realize that the amount of negative comments surpasses any other mmo launch to date (and we could pro ratio that to lower pop launches and it would still be on top).

 

Now if that's not enough to convince you it was a bad decision I honestly don't know what will. Now matter what happens you still "wont get it".

The excuse is that you were promised UP TO 5 days. And you're getting exactly that. That should be enough.

 

Ohh and I don't refute that. All I'm saying is that their decision of making a staggered launch (and don't be fooled EGA and launch are the same thing with different names) is going to make mmo history as one of the worse decisions made for a mmo launch.

1.75 million people flooding into any amount of servers is not the same as 500k flooding into any amount of servers.

 

Even if you created a lot of servers for that many people, you have no clue how populated one is going to become. Regardless of how well you "plan your hardware", servers can only take so much.

 

It is the exact same thing on a bigger scale.

Rift did not have this many preorders.

 

That's no excuse. They knew exactly how many preorders they had. All they had to do is plan hardware and staff accordingly.

Well 1 thing is 100 % sure... We can already tell that this launch is way behind the Rift standard.

 

Not being let into the game at the same time as everyone else is by far worse than login queues and server crashes.

 

And for those of you saying EGA is not a right. Well I beg to differ because it was one of their selling points for the preoder and I'm pretty sure a lot of people preordered for that reason alone.

 

Other games had crappy launches before and still succeeded so we will have to wait and see. Might not be the worse launch I've seen but it sure is close.
