    As Ben mentioned in his earlier forum post, we definitely wanted to allow Guilds and players time to organize themselves within the previous Character Transfer sale. With that in mind, we are going to be introducing one more sale period before they revert to their new price of 1,000 Cartel Coins (1,500 for Regional). Here are the sale details:

     

    When: Thursday, May 26th – Sunday, June 5th

    What: Character transfers (not including Regional) will be 90 Cartel Coins

    Where: Make sure that you are logged into swtor.com and go here.

  2. To be honest, I haven't read all 34 pages of this thread, but if we reduced transfer prices for a week, would that allow you all enough time to organize your guilds to transfer to the place that makes the most sense for your guild?

     

    LOL now the price is up to 1500 from 1000!

  3. You have my support. This is a very poor decision. Server populations change virtually overnight. As they bleed subscribers the tailspin is dramatic. I do not understand the pricing change.

     

    Point 1: Returning Players deserve a cheap mechanism to play on a populated server. If you don't have an online game with active players that allows them to enjoy paying the subscriber fee you've not converted any accounts that return.

     

    Point 2: Lack of cross-server creates massive holes in group content. The only way players have to address low populations is to roll onto a new server. This has massive consequences to a player. They lose their guild and likely a host of virtual friends. They are not moving because they are ainst ridden teens who are black balled from a server. They want to experience the group content. The whole subscriber model is built around group content. If you cannot get reasonable grouping in PVE/PVP why pay?

     

    I agree with the authors assessment. Increasing the price by 1000% having done nothing to fix the underlying server population problem is moronic. This to me seems to be someone looking at the most popular cartel purchased item and jacking up the price. This is a cash grab maneuver that stinks of some suit at EA trying to squeeze the cash shop.

     

    I feel your pain. Having played on a dead server that got merged, then witnessing the collapse of PoT5. I knew I had to take advantage of the pricing and I moved. However, you didn't want to give up the guild. I get it. I wouldn't want to re-decorate my strongholds either. I wish you good luck. I hope this decision gets reversed.

     

    I am going to finish with the following. People deserve the right in an online game to play with other players. Charging extra to let people play online on a server is unethical. Moving servers should be free. You should be capping the transfers to avoid exploiting to a toon to a server per month, but rest assured you should not be charging people to play on a "server". They didn't create your "servers". You created this barrier. Now you have a mess of customers abandoned on ghost servers. Then you want to charge them to get off the waste land you created and fostered?

     

    This is not a good way to endear customer satisfaction. Its the exact opposite of the philosophy of a company that tries to make its customers happy. Did you decide to adopt the Comcast customer experience?

     

    Elegant reply, I totally agree also for returning ppl.

     

    If they are not able to make a Server Merge now, the only thing is to decrease again the Char Transf price so who stay trapped in a dead server can leave with his toons.

  4. You could just wait until your monthly Cartel Coins add up so much that you get 1000 or was it 1500 ? all in all.

    This way you wouldn't spend a single bit of additional money.

     

    But sadly this way is often downplayed by people, or they just didn't have the idea to do it this way.

     

    I've 10 Toons lock on dead server: it will tooks me 20 months to complete the transfer for free, but si not for free cause I pay 12€ at months, so 120€. "Just wait" is not a good suggestion my friend, cause I'm not F2P.

     

    The problem is that Bioware does nothing to solve the problem. No 1 million 90cc transfers will solve the problem with low popolated servers.

    Its just like sweep it under the carpet and more money for Bioware. They let the players pay extra for issues in this game. And this will be repeated every season.

    This is the reason why Bioware does nothing. Solve problems and make the customers happy? No. They just laugh and count the money from their desperate customers.

     

    It may sound hard but what Bioware is doing is ridiculous. The worst service in a game i had ever seen.

     

    I guess i will unsub soon.

    And i will never again spend 1 cent for a game by Bioware.

     

    I used to be a satisfied client, complaining only with unfair pvp matchmaking. but this is too much.....

  5. There is no point to force me to pay 8€ for any of my toons while I've already payed for them with my Subscription, my time to raise them to 65, with my 60 Level Token.

     

    if i don't pay 8€ each I cant play those toon cause the server is dead do to BW action.

     

    Is not my fault and yes I regrets to haven't transfered all my toons in time, but I swear I never would have thought I couldn't play ranked anymore in my server.

     

    This shouldn't have a game where I've to be the quicker or the smarter or I'd be disavantage, that's NO the life, this is a GAME, a game that I pay any month to play with.

  6. You didn't payed attention what have happened:

     

    the discount was avaible for long, but 1 week before BW annunced "last call" so the most of ppl transfered their Char and suddenly some servers went empty, not all ppl can log so often to undestand the server is going empty.

     

    the result is exactly like I say: a Randsom to play. (Obviously not for ppl that can stay every day on the server and monitor the changes).

     

    Shoudl I ve the right after 5 y. of sub to play my pvp ?

  7. Bioware you caused the dead of Tofn server (and other) with your ceap character transfer policy.

    NOW none queue for ranked, neither normals and we are LOKED on this dead server without any chance to play PAYING A MONTHLY FEE!

     

    ONLY ONE WAY: Pay your 1k CC RANDSOME for each Character?

     

    I've 10 CHARACTER I've PAYED to play and now I can't play cause no queue, so how much is the

     

    RANSOM? 10k CC so around 70 EURO to play with Character I've already payed to play .

     

    I'm a subscriber frome the very starts, but this is really too much.

  8. Thanks for your Discunt to Char. transfer Tofn is desert, 25 pleyer in the fleet, NO ranked solo neither Team...

     

    I can easly figure out other servers have the same issue, so..

     

    PLEASE Keep the offert back so all rest of player can LEAVE the dying servers, otherwhise you are gonna to lose the rest of pvp player who can't play because of lack of pops...

  9. Just keep positive laides and gents! It might take some time to get to, but the devs will get this class balanced and comparable to the other classes in PVP!

     

    What do mercs need most?

     

    1. An anti-focus ability that forces a target swap in PVP which in turn grants them added survivability when focused. This ability should be comparable to sorc bubble, ops out-of-combat-stealth, jugg heal-to-full defensive, and marauder's insta-stealth-drop-from target ability. As it stands now, the merc has NOTHING that grants them any effective survivability when focused by two or more enemies in PVP.

    For the devs reading this, thanks for your time and I know as a long-time SWTOR supporter you will do something regarding mercs and the broken state they lie in at this time.

     

    The players asking for improvements to the merc class do not want anything over-the-top, they just want the class to be equally viable as the other classes in PVP, regarding survival.

     

    To say it's frustrating trying to play a merc particularly in ranked arenas is an understatement. They simply are sitting ducks, an automatic kill by any competent group who focuses them first.

     

    Mercs NEED an EFFECTIVE survival ability, and that also includes the HEALING spec merc. The buff to chaffe flare was in the right direction, but still needs some improvement. Thank you.

     

    You forgot the Operative rolling (with immunity), I think are passed 3 years from the first time player asked for a skill to evade and in the player best fantasy it's related to the jetpack, fly away..

     

    My son is 3yo now and started speaking and reading some letters so I'm positive that when he will start playing swtor the mercs would use the jetpack in a proper way...

  10. Dear web dev. could you please build up better Leaderboards? Where I can filter by Server or where I can apply multiple filter.

     

    It would be nice to know which are the the best Assassin of your server, so it need be filterable by server and by a specific class, or more than one class, fore instance could be nice compare ranged vs melee or other.

     

    At this stage the leaderboard is not so amazing but it could be more useful with small effort.

  11. Way too abusable and would make q syncing much much easier.

     

    Outside of that there are many angry people that will try to get anyone kicked that recently made an apparent mistake or got focused/killed first and didn't put up big numbers. There are more than a few that like to q with friends and can't stop harassing the weakest links. There was one guy that I and others tried to calm down but he wouldn't stop harassing a couple newbs that got into "our" queue one night (8-10 regulars + 2 newbs = pissed off regulars).

     

    I'm sure it would be handy vs the trolls but it would be abused for bullying and syncing purposes far more often.

     

    Yes, basically I thought it needed 3 votes, 1 player on 3 will be honest enough to keep it if are not clues of Trolling, but yes, could be tricky.

     

    But what's your recipe? Maybe you can find a way to solve the issue of my proposal or have a better idea that someone will enhance...

  12. Totally Agree and I would suggest:

     

    1-do not allowe the /stuck in arena (you will be unstuck anyway at the end of the match)

    2-After the second time you leave the match you won't queue for 12h.

     

    also as my last post: let us kick out and replace a player before the count down at the start of the match.

  13. Yes I'm quite aged and I used to play Dungeons & Dragons with sheets and dices. So my generation used to burn Trolls with fire or acid due their regenerative ability.

     

    Coming to the Jedy/Sith ages: almost any weekends Ranked Solo Arenas are infested by Trolls, who are they? People that have the intention and the power to drive their team to an predictable loss. For instance yesterday I've group 2 Troll at the same time: the first (for the second time) the other joined in Ranked (not pre season) with green gear pieces.

     

    No problem until you meet in your team 1 Troll at day, but yesterday I've had 1/3 of trolled games. I see videos where ppl win-trade the match and other bad stuff.

     

    The BIG, old question is: how to burn the Trolls in swtor? Is a question for all I'll try to contribute with a silly proposal.

     

    My try is: when the match starts, before the count down pop up, let player kick-out another player and get another one from the queue.

     

    Quite rude? It could be but it makes the Troll life more difficult because they need to pretend to play for win to avoid to be kicked out next time.

     

    I know it looks like Witch Hunting approach but you know, witches and trolls are bad...

  14. why many pvp player are worried about lose all pvp comms gained?

     

    1-No one from BW mentioned it not means it won't happen (If they advice none will play Wzs for 1 months and it would makes unhappy lot of ppl).

    2-No one want lost time playing with trolls and other unpleasant players for nothing.

  15. What is the LAG impact in Arena? How many kind of LAG there are and what are the impacts?

     

    I even considerd the LAG based on the "ping" monitor in thebottom right corner but somethimes it affect all player in the same zone, sometimes not, why?

     

    Also I noticed a sort of latency that affect the game play even if the lag-montitor report 4 bars. The feeling is that you see the battle with a slight delay, the effect is that (for istance) you want use a melee ability on a character thats is not in a melee radius or you use your def CD whene are not needed anymore.

     

    Is wird because it's happened to me few times, buth enought to be insulted from my random team because of the weak performance (they totally were right).

     

    I wondering if it happen to some of you and what could be the cause, maybe my hardwere have some issues?

  16. What if the Elo you get from a mach is weighted by the balance between the sum of team Elo?

     

    I mean If I win with the well-known noob player I want a good reward, but if I lose with him I won't lose too much Elo..

     

    Does it makes sense?

     

    If so, it could be a machmaking that will mach classes: No more 4 Juggs Vs 4 Merc but 2 Jugg and 2 Mercs in each teram.

  17. As far as my tanking experiance in team ranked goes i would not recommend to have any dps gear at all (except the dps armorings for healing on intercede). This is because the damage output you get from the dps gear is too low compared to the tankyness you get from the tank gear itself. Spec you should really run is hybrid! there is no use at all to go full tank. The most important thing to have in the hybrid spec is the Shien form so you can force charge with unstoppalbe. I do this serveral times in arenas to prevent opponents to fear and hard stun me. This will screw up the communication in the opponents team, if they are just about to fear as you charge in ustoppable they will for 100% mess up. I run my tank tree (23/23/0) to also get lower cd on my fear to assist the team.

     

    That's interesting, and I'm wondering also if there are some other Hybrid Tank build..

  18. and.... what about min/max tank gear (included 2 Vendicator Armor) ?

     

    how many Def, Shield, Absorb? Saw people go for Def and Shield solo, but I'm wondering why as Absorb is the efficency of your shield...

  19. 1. Stop playing Darkness and switch to madness instead.

    2. Make sure to min/max. (Stack power/surge with 1 piece of crit)

    3. Key bind and unbind A/S/D. (Dont keyboard turn / backpedal)

    4. Get modable (Orange) gear that you like and augment it. Then fill it up with PvP mods/armorings/enhancements.

    5. Make sure to have the power and mainstat boost relics.

    6. Key bind

    7. Practice a rotation on warzone dummies while waiting for a queue.

     

    Honestly, if you have all of these, it's just a matter of time until you really get use to the class. It takes time to get good at this game but if you do all the correct steps/techniques it won't take long.

     

    Totally Agree, follow those tips of this wise guy.. don't loose your time forcing a bad set spec tree (3y of sin experience)

  20. Leavers in Ranked War Zone are hated because ruin the game play.

     

    Leavers can be of 3 category:

     

    1-Crashed (band or pc issue).

    2-Mistake (Ouch I selected the wrong queue cause I'm drunk) or "the ranked queue is over but I eat something off so I can't stand from the toilet bowl... apology..."

    3-Serial-Leaver: "Damn I've a noob team, I quit because my father is Tywin Lannister and my mother Chtulhu" or "I'm a bad programmed bot so I stay quite in the start area."

     

    Well, what's about a proper patch that do not allow characters join the queue after 3 leaving in a day? After 3 yellow card go to warm the bench until tomorrow!

     

    I mean: I can make a mistake once, than I can crash, but If I'm in loop I shouldn't play until I've learned how to play or change internet provider...

  21. In all honesty the "Tanks are viable" in PvP is a fantasy. Your defense and shield have no effect on attack types force and tech which are the most prevalent attack types in PvP. Seeing how only Saber Reflect, ED, and Invincible are the only three defense abilities that work this leads to a debate where is the damage you lose worth the supposed survivability you gain. Having said that ED and saber reflect can all be used by DPS jugs, so you are losing a TON of damage for invincible, sonic barrier, Sonic Wall (which almost no jugg takes) and the ability to do two stuns.

     

    that's why you run full tank with DPS gear + Shield with DPS mods. Sonic Barrier is influenced by mainstat and power, so DPS gear buffs this, and DPS gear also buffs Enraged Defense. High damage, extremely high survivability.

     

    Now I'm wondering if you guys are playing Ranked Team Arenas, because sounds wired hearing about a tank geared dps, I mean witch is your health cap? 40k with 0 Abs, Shield and def?
