  1. I think there's some conspiracy involved.

Obviously someone behind the scenes is removing their rating from the boards. All I know is everytime my team had a jugg skank, we won. Every. ***********. Time.

And it should be noted, the opposite team always had to complain and cry about our jugg skank being "pure cheese" or something to that effect.

I am sure all the hate aimed at jugg skanks is misguided though, and has nothing to do with their success in PVP. People always complain about the bottom-of-the-barrel classes, right?

    I agree its a mystery.

Before i roll a jugg because im just sick enough to buy your magic beans and go all in, let me ask you this...

Prior to 4v4 ranked, and in warzones, *** do juggs do other than get pew pew raped at range by a pile of 8 rDPS?

Seems like when i play jugg i am range-swarmed hella fast.

  2. Just roll a jugg skank. You can do the damage of a dps, enjoy the survivability of a tank, and provide lots of utility to your team with trauma debuff and tons of cc/guard/protection.

Sounds nice, but why are they MIA on the leaderboards for ranked pvp?

  3. I don't do ranked regularly, but I've seen enough of it to know.

    • Powertech has many more players at the high ratings than operatives currently.

    • Powertech (advanced prototype) has some of the best burst in the entire game, for melee, only carnage marauders can compete. Operative (concealment) has about the lowest burst out of any burst spec in the game.

    • Operative has arguably better survivability, but it requires you to spend all your GCDs rolling and healing, which can be detrimental to your team since you're not doing damage. Powertech's defensive cooldowns are decent, but they're prone to focus fire (although they do have 30% DR when stunned, so..)

    • Operative has a significantly higher skill floor, but I'd argue that powertech has the higher skill cap. A very skilled operative can be a nightmare in 8v8 warzones regarding objectives, but, a player of the same skill playing a powertech will demolish people. Operative's not very well cut out for 4v4.

    • I'm biased, but I personally thing Operative is a lot more fun. Still, if you want a better rating, I'd go PT.

Ugh, fun vs higher rating, thats about where i had it summed up in my head as well. Thanks for a thoughtful post.

Jugg is the other role that i really enjoy, how does Jugg fit in?

If it helps, my team is Sniper, Sorc heals and Assassin

  4. For you ranked 4v4 PvPers:

Which class do you feel is stronger in ranked pvp?

Which has more bursting ability(and which spec)

    Which has more survivability?

Which is a higher skillcap, or has a higher potential ceilingwhen played well?

And which is more fun :)

  5. The top 100 of each AC, avg rating:

    Avg Rate	PCs AC
    1891	100	Sorcerer
    1815	100	Powertech
    1593	100	Operative
    1593	100	Sniper
    1588	100	Marauder
    1575	100	Assassin
    1546	100	Juggernaut
    1506	100	Mercenary

I don't actually like looking at that top ## number because it ignores the fact that each AC has wildly different numbers of people playing it, but many consider it some sort of gold standard and it's easy enough to run...

The top 1% of each AC:

    Avg Rate	PCs AC
    2208	22	Powertech
    2105	10	Sniper
    2070	52	Sorcerer
    1956	18	Operative
    1827	16	Mercenary
    1801	24	Marauder
    1789	28	Assassin
    1675	35	Juggernaut

The top 5% of each AC:

    Avg Rate	PCs AC
    1802	106	Powertech
    1749	50	Sniper
    1714	256	Sorcerer
    1614	89	Operative
    1565	118	Marauder
    1544	80	Mercenary
    1527	140	Assassin
    1477	173	Juggernaut

The top 50 % of each AC:

    Avg Rate	PCs AC
    1345	1060	Powertech
    1321	2551	Sorcerer
    1317	491 Sniper
    1280	1174 Marauder
    1273	887 Operative
    1252	1392	Assassin
    1248	795 Mercenary
    1246	1721	Juggernaut

The numbers in the top 50% are close because most people on the leaderboards haven't played more than a few games (just over a third of them have won 10 or more games, the rest haven't...). That means class differences aren't going to announce themselves dramatically in win/loss ratios.

Anyways, the moral is fairly clear: play a sorc or a pt or anything other than a jugg if you want to do solo ranked. It's been much like this since season 4.

super helpful, can you tell me where this data came from? percentages seem wonky based on the different popularity of classes. Can i get top 50 of each class? or top 25?

  6. Howdy,

I know Juggernaut is not favored right now in ranked, but bear with me.

I still feel like the control that jugg offers along with the mobility should be valuable in deathmatch.

What team comp and what strats would best compliment a jugg playstyle? How can me and my crew be most successful?

    Thanks!

  7. Where do Juggs fit in? I returned to pvp with my jugg, but they seem bottom of the totem pole, as in there are like 20 PT for every jugg on the leaderboards.

Can jugg be viable in current meta?

  8. Agreed.

Even with the operative, you'll be working much harder to achieve less, and will never achieve as much. It's like eating canned Spinach for the rest of your life because no one has ever done that. Can you do it, sure. Is it difficult, heck yah. Rewarding, not at all.

Well i'm expecting that things will balance out, and assassin is FOTM, so less concerned about right now, more concerned about general class playstyle and the differences.

  9. I'm a longtime stealth player in pvp MMOs (Thief/Rogue/Assassin chars). Ive dabbled a bit in operative, but before gettign too deep im curious about assassin.

What are the main differences in playstyle from these two classes aside from the tank/healer hybrid dynamic?

Which are more valuable in small scale (1v1, 2v2) and group battles?

Which has a higher player skill cap, that is to say, which class is more powerful in a skilled players hands?

Lastly, my main partner is a guardian, which is best suited to compliment?

Any help or opinions or flames are appreciated!

  10. I enjoy playing the lesser played classes and species. I am now debating an alt using the legacy species purchase.

Please order the classes from most popular to least from what you see in warzones.

    1. Shadow
    2. Sentinal
    3. Sage
    4. Commando
    5. Guardian
    6. Gunslinger
    7. Vanguard
    8. Scoundrel

  11. Im a near war hero sentinal and have been debating my alt class.

I originally wanted a ranged class to compliment my sentinal, but now im just looking for versatility in trees, plus i notice my WZ groups always short on heals.

I'm thinking scoundral is the way to go, and i have the cash for a legacy race. I want to go dark side with him. What legacy species/body type do you guys think would make a cool looking and recognizable scoundrel?

  12. Im debating a ranged pvp alt and looking at these 3 classes.

Looking for versatility and a high player skill cap

How do these 3 stackup in pvp currently?

Also looking for suggestions on ****** legacy race options for sith corruption on these classes.

  13. whole lot of sniper/gunslinger rerolls on my server. almost as many as mara/sents

Join us in our sniper revolution

I played a sniper briefly (like mid 20's) and they just seemed really limited, and they get targetted so quickly! lots of deaths on your GS?

  14. My main is a 50 marauder, and the marauder FOTM actually makes me want to play him less so i am creating an alt.

I would like a ranged class with some versatility.

Gunslinger does insane dmg (the top?) but looks a bit too clunky to play with cover, and no real 'oh ****' button.

Sage looks great, good dmg and versatility with option to gear for healer. they are just really populated.

Scoundral looks interesting, but how does it play as a ranged dps/utility? how is that dirty fighting tree?

Trooper isnt really an option for me since so many in my guild.

Would like to hear some opinions!

  15. As a longtime stealther (rogue/thief type classes) I am planning on creating either a scoundral or a shadow. I like the healing and ranged options of scoundral, but i also like the saber feel of shadow...

From what i understand, Shadows are doing very well, but slated for a nerf and are a somewhat one dimensional class. Scoundrals have been nerfed into the dirt, and arecurrently only worthwhile as a healer class.

Which do you guys think is the best choice for a longterm pvp stealther?

  16. I have a 50 sentinal nearing war hero. For a change of pace i would like to roll an alt. I do enjoy stealth in most games, but im expecting that shadow will be too similar of playstyle to sentinal. I am considering gunslinger and scoundral as well.

Which reroll class is a good compliment to a sentinal?

  17. Hi guys,

My main is a marauder that just hit 50, im really enjoying him in pvp.

I have been planning on creating an alt character once i hit 50 for the sub-50 pvp bracket with my friends.

I'm considering Shadow and Gunslinger mainly, possibly Vanguard. I would like to hear some opinions on the state of these classes in pvp in 1.2.

Also what legacy species do you guys like for these classes on republic side?
