It is unfortunate but my playtime always perfectly syncs with your maintenance. It also seems your maintenance happens all too frequently with massive windows of downtime affecting 100% of your user base.
*Calming down, maintaining low tones*
What are your plans to arrive at a place where you do not impact your paying customers to do maintenance on the game? Q1, Q2?
This is the third time I have attempted to play but just decided not to even log in since you are starting your maintenance around midnight (my time).
Seems to me if you were going to impact your customer base as significantly as you do (all the time) you would leverage resources possibly in another time region (that which is outside the continental United States) to perform the work.
Thoughts?
Signed: A paying customer whose patience is wearing thin.
The problem is you AGRRED to the down time. You know that thing you just clicked accept without reading it? ya well guess what
BIOWARE PROVIDES TOR SERVICES ON A COMMERCIALLY REASONABLE BASIS AND DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO ACCESS OR USE TOR SERVICES AT TIMES OR LOCATIONS OF YOUR CHOOSING, OR THAT BIOWARE WILL HAVE ADEQUATE CAPACITY FOR TOR SERVICES AS A WHOLE OR IN ANY SPECIFIC GEOGRAPHIC AREA.http://www.swtor.com/legalnotices/termsofservice
Now if it does get excessive bio may give up free time like wow and funcom and other have done. But they are not obligated to. If you don't like it you vote with you dollars and leave.
I have been doing MMO's for a long time this is part of the deal when you sign on. You can compare it to any other game but it does not make a deference this is how they are going to do it and that's it. And if you do the math. You are due back .02 cents per hour of play. is it really worth it to make a fuss over .08 cents? if you do i sorry but you need to find a hobby i usually play star trek during down time its not bad
REALLY .08 CENTS 8 MY GOD YOU ARE A CHEAP

Hi, will you be giving us any more game time as a result of the high degree of server unavailability, especially considering the patch times are always in the middle of the day in europe?
You advertise with 1 month of free game time included, yet we have not had the option to play the game for pretty good chunks of that month.

from Reverse Engineering.... i am just getting to the end-game, and i see all these rattaka reusable stuff covering pretty much all your needs... is there a point in spending all the time needed to get purples from RE to get non-reusable stims/pots? Is there anything else worth my effort?
I have found it worth the effort cause everyone is taking bio-chem for the med packs but don't want to put the effort into RE-ing them its easy to make some creds from the re-usable items

IMHO the only people whining about this are the people who just found out about it and now can't do it. If that's not you then why are you? and get on with your life it does not affect you. But for all the "getting banned for looting chests!!" people here is an off site artice cause some people can seem to navigate beyond this site.

it tells what they did and how now **** and get on with your life your wasting space here

Spending upwords to $700 for a decent computer just for a game is retarted when you have other choices. By other choices I mean games.
DUDE i spent 300$ for a new system and it run SWTOR awesome i don't know where your shopping but don't go there and more 300 will get you a good system that will run this game great. (as long as you don't NEED intel) And if you say that's too much well suck it up man a 1.5ghz single core will not do it anymore even for some game 1 year old
Also i don'r know if you noticed but you shall receive no sympathy here.
Phenom II X2 560 Black Edition Boxed Processor 59$
500GB SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" 7,200RPM Internal Desktop Hard Drive - Refurbished 65$
HD-677X-ZNFC AMD Radeon HD 6770 1024MB DDR5 PCIe 2.1 x16 Video Card 130$
880G-E45 Socket AM3 880G ATX AMD Motherboard 29$(bundle special)
(Open Box) 4GB DDR3-1333 (PC3-10666) Desktop Memory Kit (Two 2GB Memory Modules) 15$
Able to run SWTOR PRICELESS
not top of the line but does the job

I just saw this and i agreed that looting boxs or farming them could not be the reason for a ban stick to come out so i did a little looking and
IT WAS INDEED AND EXPLOIT
Here is a clip of the story on MMO-fallout
exploit: In Ilum, when control moves from Republic to Empire and vice versa, the loot boxes respawn immediately. Seeing the potential for profit, players have set up a system on servers where they simply trade control back and forth with guild members out on the field to collect the boxes. This is what Bioware is referring to by banning players for exploiting the treasure chests, and in that case I would support the temporary suspensions as long as Bioware is warning the players beforehand, which they appear to be doing, or if the activity is truly as impossible for a legitimate player to stumble upon as is being claimed. So there you have it. It was indeed not just a few people bringing there low level toon in for a farming run it was a system set up to quickly farm and amass the credit unfairly

I have a question about the mobile app, what happens if you have an issue with your phone and it take days before your phone is repaired? Do you loose access to the game until your phone or another is available?
If it works anything like the WOW version then remove it from your account if possible before taking the phone in. If they have to wipe the phone the new authenticator you download will not work cause it will have a different serial code.
And yes in the above situation you would be locked out.

11/21 i'm in see you all there

Sorry... maybe this is a noob question but I'm still really confused by the two email thing. I received my first email yesterday afternoon (Dec 14 around 12:30pm). It was the one saying
"Your wait is over! The moment we've all been waiting for is finally here. Early Game Access* has started, and you can now begin your adventure. To start playing, click on the button below and follow the steps outlined on the page. Welcome to your Star Wars™ saga."
However, my launcher is still saying I don't have an active subscription and haven't received a second email. Do I just need to wait for a second email or is there something wrong?
there is a thread in customer service i believe for that
-
Actually alot of pre-orders in november because of the lifted NDA and the open beta towards the end. Plus the people who were waiting closer to release date like myself before pre ordering (wish i had known about the waves before hand tho)
Probably right but still they are moving along decently and any play i get before 20th is great
-
If i don't get my email today, they lied about 5 days early access. Then i demand compensation for screwing your customers
get over yourself they wrote UP TO 5 days and you not paying for it your paying from dec 20
-
it looks like a wave every 1h to 1h 30m i'm sure not too many pre-orders at this point
-
twitter just announced new wave of invites
-
Worst way to launch an mmo imho, proberly not gonna bother with this game since the "Being first" felling is gone now its just a catch up game and that is like playing WoW so proberly not gonna bother much with this game since BF3 is still a kick *** game.
Don't leave a butt print on the door on your way out
-
Mr. ried post this on twitter it shows a general time line about the invites
http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=156470
i am so hoping for today
-
Twitter just poped say emails are out GOOD LUCK ALL
-
This is bull, you pay for a preorder and extra money for early game access but the way things are going its going to be 5 bucks of wasted money plus the actualy preorder. i am disappointed in Bioware, very.
calm down there we need to not introduce this negative attitude and get this thread closed because of it
-
Worst launch ever in mmo history. Every other mmo ALL people would be in,
Not even close to the worst AO launch was abysmal server crashed and never came back up for over a day if you want that then i guess your right but your wrong
-
Do not cancel. You will want to be part of the civil suit if the scenario you explain happens.
Yep you get you .49 cents back - lawyer fees so about .03 cents and your banned from the game WOW that sounds worth it. you too inpatient considering you not suppose to have access for another 2 days be glad you get in before then.
Game time compensation for patch times?
