  1. I play a merc healer. The other healer in my regular HM/NiM 8m ops group is a sorcerer. We have always had comparable numbers, but tonight, she did 50-70% of my effective healing. That is an outrageous nerf, and does not appear to be viable for HM/NiM raiding.
  2. When I logged in after updating to 5.2 today, I saw that all progress on all six of the [WEEKLY] missions my main character is on had been erased. I had 1 of the 2 [WEEKLY] Heart of Ruin bosses down. Now, none. I had 9/10 Story Mode Uprisings and 3/5 Veteran Mode Uprisings. Now I'm at 0/10 and 0/5. I was half way through both Veteran and Master Flashpoint weekly quests, too. My weekly PvP quest progress is also gone. It's all gone.

I don't usually finish all weekly quests in a single week. I pick them up and work on them at my own pace. This has never been a problem before. [WEEKLY] was a limit to how often you could repeat the quests, not a deadline on how long you had to finish them. They're worth a ton of command points, so I'm really ticked off about this, and I doubt I'm the only person affected by it.

  3. Wow. Just searched to see what was up with this and I find out it's been a known issue for over a month, with "we'll fix it in *a month* as a solution? If it's going to take you that long to fix it, remove it from the random queue. What a waste of time.
  4. My experience: Trainable and usable some places, such as Ilum, but lost upon traveling to other places, such as the Fleet or Ilum Orbital Station, where it appears as available from trainers but does not become usable after training. Exiting and restarting the game client does not help. Rezoning to places where it was trainable/usable doesn't restore the ability.

I've heard enough people arguing that everything is fine to make me wonder if it's server-specific or level-specific. 60 Commando on Shadowlands here.

  5. I've noticed that there are people who will run towards defence points for a minute, and then leave, or engage a bunch of people in 1 on 1 combat in the middle of nowhere.

Whenever I ask them why they aren't helping us win, they say they're getting the medals.

Coincidentally, every match I've seen this happen in has been lost.

The medals are a more enticing reward then victory to a lot of players, and the people who are helping win the match (And thus, don't care about winning a 1v1 fight or getting defender medals just for the sake of it) end up suffering for it.

The fact that the reward is the same whether or not you win makes it much more worthwhile for some people to do this meaningless tasks away from the action just for the sake of it.

If medals had a reduced reward if you lost, perhaps this would cause medal hunters to focus on the game at hand, because at the moment, there are too many people ignoring defence points and instead focusing on conveniently alone squishy characters.

Maybe I just have bad luck with Warzones, but this seems to me to be a big problem, unless I'm completely missing the point or something.

  6. Forgive me for not instantly taking your word with this, but have you tested it out in-game? the video you link is from 9 months ago, it's very possible it's changed since.

Forgive me for not Americanizing my dates. The video footage is from 3 December, 2011 (3/12/11), posted 6 December, 2011 (6/12/11) and I never expected it to get more than a handful of views from the folks I was discussing alacrity with at the time I (hastily) threw it together, so it's not the easiest thing to follow.

Alacrity certainly does bring the "GCD" of abilities with an activation time less than 1.5s (but greater than zero) down to whatever the new activation time of the ability is. With relics and adrenals popped, I can fire off Healing Scans and Power Shots in 1.1s and it's pretty much impossible to miss that there is ABSOLUTELY NO DELAY (let alone a 0.4 second gap) before I can activate another one or something else.

    BUT!

Alacrity doesn't lower the GCD of instant abilities or channeled abilities. That stays at 1.5s.

  7. Even the biochemists had to reverse engineer to get those purple reusables.

Biochemists do not have to reverse engineer to get their reusable Rakata Medpacks, Stims or Adrenals. They do however have to RE to get the lower level reusables.

  8. The problem here is that Biochemists have access to stims, adrenals and medpacks that are not only reusable, but better than anything a non-Biochemist can use. They can be sold on the GTN, but they can only be used by Biochemists.

The imbalance comes from the fact that the "profession exclusive" bind on pick-up items those with other professions can create do not compensates for the increased buffs/healing value of these biochem items.

I think having reusable stims, adrenals and medpacks for Biochemists is fine, but the rest of us should at least have access to equivalent consumables. The pressure on those involved in competitive PvE or PvP to go Biochem is not a good thing.

  9. The Modified DTB-27 Bolt Pistol is the correct color for a legendary (indigo), but in fact it's no different from a custom (orange) blaster pistol. It's stats and damage are entirely dependent on the mods put into it.
  10. Here's a bug for you: http://i1142.photobucket.com/albums/n610/SaraviWrath/Screenshot_2012-01-02_02_11_56_383310.jpg

Count the players on the opposing team, and no, it wasn't a UI bug or players who left and were replaced. We were communicating in voice chat and they had impossible numbers of players at each base. I've been in Void Star runs with 9 and 10 people, usually with extra people getting stuck in the last (i.e. right before the last doors to the core) medical bay on the attacking side.

  11. It's plainly bugged. We spent hours on it tonight, determining the sequence ahead of time, counting down 1-2-3-click, trying to off-set completion, going all left, going all right, south going left while north goes right, alternating left and right for each level, in both Hard and Nightmare Mode.

After getting downright sick of resetting it, we finally got it by pure, random chance, doing absolutely nothing special to increase our efficiency on either side.

The encounter is bugged, with the control panels going and remaining inactive after a tier (first, second or third, but mostly second for us) is completed on both pylons. It is at this time that both panels should immediately light up as the next tier becomes active, and yet it bugs out and the fight - not to mention, the trash - has to be reset.

  12. You think that's bad? I hit some kind of bug in my romance arc.

Dialogue option chosen: Welcome Back. (Isn't that what you say to someone who's been away? It's a nice thing to say, isn't it?)

Dialogue spoken by character: "I was actually starting to miss you." (In a not-very-nice-at-all way.)

Companion's Reply: "Guess I'd better not tick you off." (Which apparently means, "it's over.")

End of conversation. End of romance. End of dialogue with companion.

    Nice one, BioWare.

  13. Dark IV BH here, also bugged. Killed the Chancellor and told Tormen that the Empire would have to pay like everyone else if they wanted me to work for them in the future.

We should be compensated for this, but I've already resigned myself to the expectation that they'll *eventually* patch it so that we can move forward, apologize for "any inconvenience this bug may have caused" us and never look back.

Having to write tickets and wait... and wait for a resolution - that's an inconvenience. What about the disadvantage vs. other classes we're now faced with, just as our fellow guildies are gearing up to do operations and hard mode FPs? Being left in the dust w.r.t. gear is not a mere inconvenience.
