  1. I'm an old-fashioned mmo player, I've been playing mmos for a long time. I'm also a Star Wars fan, Old Republic was a great mix of the two. That's why I'm here. But personally, I think this new direction of SWTOR is just a big mess. They keep saying "Oh ya, all players really want nowadays is more story, more epicness". Really!!??

Do you really want all of Bioware's resources tied up for months & months to partake in a stream-lined, cut scene infested story arc that can be finished in an afternoon? You don't want any new pvp content? No new operations? Yes I realize these things "may be coming in the near future" but in the meantime this new storyline content just has no re-playability at all. How many times are you willing to follow Lana the "Jedi-wannabe sith" through a swamp? I've been told that this is what players really want and I find it hard to believe.

I think you are all confused, you want to sit around for 6 months at a time waiting for an afternoon's entertainment. Then you don't want an mmo, you want a MOVIE!! And great news, there's a Star Wars movie coming out in 2 months!! I'll see you all there but in the meantime I'd like my mmo back because this is not a mmo PC game, this is an advanced version of a read-along book. I used to read those when I was like 7 yrs old. "If you want to jump over the puddle turn to page 63. If you want to go around the puddle instead, then turn to page 89." Either way you're on the other side of the puddle!! Congratulations you finished Chapter 1 - The Puddle, now please wait patiently for 6 more months as we move on to Chapter 2 - The Hill.

    Come on people!!

After a couple runs with their characters, people will space bar all the dialogue just like with Black Talon/Esseles and find out how really short this expansion is.

Probably even sooner than that with that grandma that just won't shut up...yak, yak, yak, yak, yak....

  2. Hey folks,

For the question at hand about why equipment was removed from various vendors, this is due primarily to stat changes. With the release of Fallen Empire, we essentially made that gear obsolete due to the new stat configurations and formulas. This meant the best option was to remove those items. Obviously, this raises the main concern of the support call which is the appearances of those armor sets.

The dev team informs us that virtually all of the core armor appearances previously on those vendors can still be located throughout the game. The majority of the old armor sets can be found via Crafting rewards, Missions, and Heroic Mission rewards. Now, there may be some variants of these core armor sets which are no longer available, but we’ll adjust that over time and slowly re-add pieces. If there are specific armor sets that can no longer be found, send the information to the Community Team and we’ll pass it along.

Taking a bite out of the people who can help with getting you back into the game, helping you restore missing items or characters, and addressing any billing issues, really isn’t a good use of your time, or theirs. As a general note, if you guys have feedback or questions about design decisions or development philosophy, come to the forums and raise it here. Going to Customer Support is not the correct place for that (and we will ask CS agents to direct you appropriately).

Thank you all for your understanding and hope that clears up any confusion on the issue.

You'd think a Star Wars MMO of all games would have learned from NGE/Combat Upgrade...

  3. Try again. You can't use companions against world bosses because world bosses have a buff that makes companions cower in fear. The only thing they do is stand there with their hands over their heads in surrender pose.

    Nope.

I'm reading through the PvP section of the forum and finding out what PvP'ers hate the most in their team so I can do that for 20 matches.

Whatever it takes to make this idiotic design decision go away.

  4. Just roll a trooper or warrior if you want those companions, you don't have to do PvP to get them back after KOTFE if they were the companions of that class. If you can't get them and you originally had them in the base game, I believe that is a bug for all but perhaps a couple. Lokin might actually be a bug too for Agents, because we are suppose to be able to summon them divorced from the story.

The only way to get this changed is to ruin the play experience for others.

If enough people scream, it'll disappear in a patch.

Like I said, I've tried PvP and hate it, if you're going to force me to do it I'll make you hate me being there.

  5. To be honest no one will notice. You'll be like the multitude of people who are bad at PvP. If you don't PvP you would get wrecked anyway unless your team is able to carry you.

I don't know why you all think this is a concern of PvP players. This is our lived experience. It's super common to have people who aren't that good. I'm not scared of taking a few losses. Why are you scared to just try?

Been in the game since Beta. I've tried PvP and hate it.

I'll do whatever it takes to be so annoying in those 20 runs I have to make that this will go away.

  6. Dude why don't you chill out? 2k is nothing in this game, you can get it from selling grey items to vendors. And 5 hours is a long time, come on.

2k is a huge chunk of change for new players. And yes, there were players heading to newb planets to explode and spread the infection there.

At the same time that Bioware was running free weekends desperately trying to bring new blood into the game, they were rewarding griefers infecting those very same players with a virus.

At best, a not well thought out event. You could even call it schizophrenic with these colliding goals.

  7. If some folks try and keep the plague going on their toons, fine, find others that want the same and you can meet someplace where you can infect one another to your heart's content.

If you go and stand at the GTN moments before you explode, then rez and run off, you will get reported if it happens to be near me.

You have your fun, leave me out of it, it should be my choice to experience the infection, not yours.

It's what I'm doing, reporting every player with the plague that is griefing by hanging around the GTN, Mailboxes, etc just trying to grief other players.

Eventually Bioware will end this stupid event if enough reports come in.

Cmon Bioware, what were you thinking with this idiocy? It's not like it's even original, World of Warcraft did it years ago and doesn't do it anymore because it ticks off as many if not more players than enjoy it.

With player numbers declining, you should have come up with some event that was fun, not one that was driving players away til this idiocy is over.
